Went to Tresca for the first time several months ago and it was a good experience. She was able to replicate the image I showed her of reference pictures with a little adjustment based on what we thought would look best. Got a short shaggy cut that would grow out into a mullet with shaved sides. The haircut made me feel very confident and it is now a go-to haircut of mine. I was nervous paying with cash so I calculated the tip wrong in my head so I tipped too little and I felt bad :( I did not realize until afterwards.

I was referred to Vee by my bestfriend Machelle. I showed Vee some pictures , I wanted to perm my hair. I came in but my hair was unfortunately too short and she told me to come back when it gets a bit longer. Which at that point she wanted to make sure it came out to how I wanted it. Hair rescue!! I have a performance tomorrow and Madrid took me in last minute. I cut my own big chop a couple months ago and I had no idea what I was doing, so it came out uneven, split ends and no shape. Ive been rocking a curly Afro to mask the mess until I found Madrid today. He is an expert stylist with amazing cutting skills. Madrid shaped my cut to compliment my face and make my color look like highlights! His products brought my hair back to life and they smell good, too! Adam Wayne is absolutely amazing--an intuitive craftsman who managed to "get" my challenging hair, which is a combo of both straight and wavy and cannot take just any old cut. Adam also did my highlights which I'm using as a way to lean into going more gray. I've gotten soooo many compliments on my hair and have never been happier.

This review has gone unwritten for far too long…. I’ll say this though, almost 2 months later and this style has grown out in the most fantastic way, I still love it!
Not only did Universe provide an amazing and lasting cut, the entire experience was outstanding! We felt welcomed, acknowledged, and really taken care of.
I asked for a shag; my hair was not quite long enough to achieve the absolute desired style but the shape has held strong and the next cut promises to be the shag of my dreams!!
My wife also received a cut, she has long, curly hair- I honestly don’t think that I’ve seen a more flattering cut on her, she loves it!!
One final and important thing to mention- we will be forever grateful to Universe for showing us a kindness during a very difficult time (which is partially the reason why it has taken me so long to get around to writing this). Our beautiful elder dog was quite sick at the time of the appointment so we asked if we could bring her with us; there was no hesitation on their part in graciously welcoming our pup to the shop, it meant the world to us, and the icing is that our 16 year old dog is doing really well!
Just got a haircut from Nick at G Circle: such a great result! Definitely one of the best haircuts I've had, inconveniently located here in downtown Oakland! I'll definitely be coming back! There is a first time for everything and my first time getting my haircut a Terrance Barbershop was a great experience. First of all, his Barbershop is one of the cleanest, greatly kept up barbershops I've ever been to. Second, Terrance is nice and great to talk to and really cares about his clients. Third, I don't really care for big barbershops with multiple barbers and multiple people. One barber with one chair and not a lot of people is perfect for me. I highly recommend everyone to have Terrance cut their hair. You have to make an appointment and that's not a hassle. Shoutout to Terrance for hooking up the fade. Terrance is definitely going to be my go to barber!
This place is awesome, last time I came here Mike took care of me. He had me looking fresh plus the Charles is an awesome Guy. Feels like a really barbershop for fancy folk to be honest but everyone there is down to earth. Service was great, music was great, and the atmosphere was great as well. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Wanted to gate keep this place but need to share it with people so they also have an awesome experience when they get they cut.

Amazing. Took my 80 year old father here for a shave. He was treated so kind and with patience. He loved his shave and he's looks great. My dad's only complaint was about his sideburns, but I'm going to chalk that up to him being 80 and felt it necessary to fuss about something. Caught him looking at himself in the mirror and admiring his smooth face. I'll keep taking him back here whenever he's in need of a little self care. Thx!!

Did a same day walk in. I went in for a pedicure and full set, loved the fact that they made way to get me seated right away for my pedicure, the gentleman who helped me was older guy with glasses, he made sure I was accommodated with a drink on their menu which I got water instead but they had other options which I liked. It was a bit humid in there, but I didn’t mind much of it, I know it’s summer and the heat is a lot this year. Gave them a vision of how I wanted my nails done and they all worked as a team, they don’t do acrylic which I was surprised to hear, but they have a different method which I think is way better and chemically safer opposed to the strong acrylic you smell going into other nail shops, where you smell it so strong to the point you almost pass out. It was easy, safe, and smoother they should recommend other shops to use this safw method. I had my 2 year old too and they were very good with her and patient which is a plus to me! Love the way my nails turned out will be back!

Lunar New Year Cat Eye stamped nails by O! The best Japanese gel nails done by the best nail professional. Meant to post this earlier but I have been caught up in my first home purchase (sorry O!). I smile every time I look at my nails and it's the ONE self care item that I can do that stays solid until my next appointment with O. She is booked up MONTHS in advance so be AWARE of this and patient. You want the BEST nail tech, you have to book her in advance and she IS worth the wait. Be sure to tip her for what she is worth also because she really puts her heart and soul into her nail artistry and craft. Thank you O! Her studio is very clean and tucked away inside a series of shops in Montclair. Bathroom is always clean in the back also.

I was so grateful to find Naomi! She gave me the best hair consultation I've ever had at the start of my balayage appointment. She explained very clearly how different treatments would affect my hair and the maintenance/care that would be required afterwards. I felt very listened to and that she had fully taken my concerns into account. Once we settled on the color, she quickly got started on painting my hair. I have short curly hair, so I was glad to see in reviews that he is comfortable with a dry cut. He asked me what I was looking for and executed well - he checked with me throughout the cut to make sure he was meeting expectations. Very quick and affordable (although his prices are listed by gender, he regards the length only, so I was charged for a men's cut) - I'll definitely be back again.

I come here all the time to get a full sewn-in from the multi-talented Dionna Richardson. She does braids, weaves, locks, flat-iron, color, literally EVERYTHING! All you have to do is show her a pic of what you want and she's got you! If you are in a time constraint no worries, you will be in and out before you know it. Wow! I was told that Shawn and the folks at La Nana were great but Shawn far surpassed my lofty expectations (think princess here, folks). I had a last minute need and he came through for me. I needed him to be creative and to give me an appropriate arrangement for the space and the occasion and LaNana nailed it. The flowers are spectacular and are exactly perfect for what I needed. Jae is the hair care expert. With consistency, Jae will have your hair healthy and beautiful. My thick hair is now well into my back and I won't let anyone else touch it. As a busy professional, it is refreshing to have a hair stylist who is respectful of my time. She does not overbook. I really appreciate that Jae invests in continuing education to keep up with latest and best haircare options.
Hair type: My hair is naturally super thick and coarse. Jae has made my hair very manageable, conditioned, and soft. Now my blowout and straightening lasts between 3-4 weeks, No problem.

Nicole is an all around all star and someone you can trust 100% to make your hair and makeup dreams a reality. I've gone to her twice for a haircut, once for full balayage, and once for toner. Before I went in for a toner it had been six months since we had done color and I was still getting compliments from people on my hair color! Most recently I decided to book Nicole for my birthday updo and makeup and she was phenomenal! I was a bit worried because the appointment was at 9am and my event wasn't until 3pm. She utilized a special sewing technique for the loose curls look I wanted and it lasted all day through the night. Before I went to bed I took out the pins and my bun was still intact when I woke up because of the sewing! Magic! I got so many compliments on my hair and makeup. I heard so many amazing things about her place so I decided to try it for the first time and I was very impressed with the ambience, mood, and the professionalism that they exhibited. Her assistant was the one who gave me the facial she was very good explained what I needed to do to continue to have gorgeous skin and I also bought some of their products I will be returning. My skin was glowing when I left there.

I haven't had a lot of experience with facials, but found myself needing some expert skin care so I contacted Charlotte. She was responsive to my request for an appointment and asked questions to get a sense of my skin care needs, including allergies. The studio is a relaxing, pleasant environment and Charlotte was friendly, professional and obviously has a lot of knowledge about what she does. I appreciated that she told me in advance about what she was about to do and how it would feel. Charlotte has a gentle touch, and even though my face was a little pink afterwards as can be expected, my skin was very happy and much improved by the next day. I will definitely be a repeat customer!

I checked out Simply Gorgeous Day Spa while visiting my BFF in Oakland, and was delighted to receive the same level of service I've spent almost two decades finding down here in LA. In particular, I was blown away by the facial I received. I was blessed with the services of Marina, whose holistic understading of care included mental and even spiritual treatment on top of physical, made me feel like I were visiting my therapist and a meditation temple in addition to a top drawer conventional spa.
I departed from Gorgeous with glowing skin, a back freed from muscle tension, improved breathing, and even a more positive mindset. In other words, I felt Gorgeous.

I found Tessa Allen to be an excellent esthetician at Vetiver Salon in Oakland. I have thoroughly enjoyed multiple facials with her and left feeling invigorated each time. My skin felt smooth and was glowing for days after each session. Tessa uses amazing natural based products which I liked so much that I now use them at home. She is highly educated in the field and I appreciated the excellent massage that was a part of my facial. I also brought my Mother in for a facial and we both enjoyed the experience! Today, my friend and I had scheduled facials. The neighborhood is really cute with lots of places to eat afterward. We are ecstatic with our facial results. When you make an appointment online it does ask for your credit card information. Nothing is charged until date of your session. Try to get there a bit early there is only street meter parking. Upon arrival we were quickly checked in and offered Prosecco with chocolates. I had a cleansing, extraction ( I will be honest this does hurt), hydration mist, and light chemical peel. My skin is prone to redness from rosacea. My technician made sure to address my skin sensitivity. After my treatment my face was just slightly red (but felt fine) glistening, and hydrated. The products they use smell amazing and feel buttery soft on your skin. Pro tip: currently on Mondays they offer 20% off services just make sure to add a remark when you make your appointment.
Missy Moran Studios is my new go-to place for Hydrafacials. Missy a total pro, gets input on what her clients main concerns are and very communicative on her plan before and while the facial itself. She even offers a light tinted sunscreen to protect your skin afterwards. I will definitely be back soon.

I love to get tattoos while visiting different towns. My first experience with Old Crow Tattoo was so great that booked an appointment there again when I was traveling through town a year later. Both artists were friendly and did exactly what I was looking for. The ambiance of the space is awesome and very comfortable. All the artists that I interacted with were friendly. The studio was bright, clean and relaxed. It felt like going in for a self care day. I had a tattoo by Arie and worked with her by email to narrow down what I was looking for- flowery, flowing fine line piece that incorporated a tattoo I already had. Arie created a few designs that were just as I'd hoped for. I am very pleased. Arie was friendly, professional and gentle. I've already recommended her and O Tattoo to a friend.

So it's been a while since I got a tattoo here. (17 years according to Yelp! Gasp! ). I stalked the gorgeous Miya Matsui and I am so glad I checked her out! I wanted Memorial tattoo for my mom, who passed in 2017 and Miya did such a beautiful job! Love her work. The tattoo is of my native Filipino sampaguita and butterfly. She is absolutely phenomenal and worth every fricken penny I spent one her! She definitely needs to have an assistant though. She is super busy and is sometimes not that responsive. Be patient with her though. She is worth the wait.
Chummy was awesome. Me and my best friend went there, he was able to finish 3 tattoos total for us in a reasonable time, at reasonable prices, made cleanliness a priority, and he took us as walk-ins. He is interesting to talk to and I felt comfortable asking him to make certain alterations that I wanted without feeling like a burden. It was also my friend’s first time getting a tattoo and he made sure she felt comfortable and could take breaks if she needed. If I get another tattoo while I’m in the area I’ll definitely be returning.

James and Jason from Pipe Spy did excellent work opening up our blocked 100 foot sewer lateral and then took a video to show the pipe was clear to the sewer main. They explained options for preventing tree roots from getting into the pipe in the future. I hope to use Pipe Spy for future plumbing work.
Pipe Spy personnel returned to replace a section of broken sewer pipe which had allowed tree roots to enter. They were careful to protect plants growing around the pipe and did excellent clean up. All in all we were very pleased with their people and the work they did.
I called Oakland rooter for a clogged drain. Alberto came out the next day first thing in the morning. He was quick friendly and cleared the drain. I asked him for an estimate for removing my garbage disposal and he gave me an honest price. He came out the very next day and did an excellent job. I will be using Oakland Rooter for all my plumbing needs for now on.
I called Ehret Plumbing because there was a leak under my kitchen sink and my toilet was clogged.
They had availability and were able to schedule me the same day. The price was reasonable and service was great!!! Turns out the P- trap needed to be replaced and they were able to unclog my toilet!

Had a few hiccups with the scheduling, but the work was top notch. The crew went above and beyond. Instead if digging up the brick and replacing it with concrete, they sawed the mortar and put it all back together when done. When they were done I couldn't even tell someone had dug up my whole yard an hour before.

Needed a sewer lateral replacement and got a great quote that was significantly lower than others I got. There was a one star review here that said their response time was slow and not confidence-inspiring. While I did feel that way at first, (I was about to go with another company before he messaged me after some time) the way he took care of everything from the replacement to the certificate made up for it.
Big thank you to the guys at thumbs up plumbing!!! I work a lot and am very grateful to be able to get my quote/appointment over the phone. Other plumbers insisted on seeing it in person but with thumbs up plumbing I sent a picture and answered a few questions and that was that. I was looking for someone to fix a diverter for three handle shower, water was not flowing properly.
The plumber Eddie was very chill and down to earth, I have a lot going on at my house (dogs, cats, people coming and going). I forgot to tell my upstairs neighbors we had to shut the water off and he offered to tell them for me ? though it ended up not being an issue because he finished the job in a bit over an hour. My shower is now working! And also the drain in the tub that was draining slowly is working better too, not sure why (a different company told me 400 for the drain !) but I'm not complaining.

We just used Power + Light to modernize our electrical system and some other electric projects and we highly recommend them.We bought our home in Dec and Mike came out the Sat before Xmas to give us an estimate, which was very reasonable. It was also easy scheduling the work for the beginning of Jan.Jason came out and updated our wiring, which had been going into an old fuse box in a tight corner of a closet. He also installed an EV power station and confirmed the safety of the wiring in our attic (so we can get it insulated), as per our original plan. He was also able to work with us for some on the fly projects to add/move some outlets and install a garage door panel.It was always easy working with Mike and Jason. We always felt like we knew what was going on and there were no surprises. It was also a reasonable price. I highly recommend Power + Light and intend to use them for all our electric needs.

Due to CA regulations, each fuse box in each unit needed to be moved from inside the closets which was not in plain view.Each panel in each apartment (7 units plus the Laundry Room) needed to be moved to a visible place in each unit in compliance with the CA apartment code.Miramontes Electric constructed a great plan, very timely, very reasonable, and at a fair cost. In addition, everything went very smoothly as we arranged a time for each unit to accommodate what worked for each tenant. No problems occurred at all. Each unit was planned for a full day, deadlines were met perfectly.The owner (Eduardo Miramontes) was fantastic to work with. Fair, honest, accurate, and certainly knew exactly what to do with great suggestions when needed.I will most definitely use their service for all electrical needs whenever needed. Ok - I have no words for that first review. I have used Dave multiple times in my home because he is literally the only electrician I now trust. He's honest, fair, quick, diligent and works hard. He does the job right or he won't do it at all. No corners are cut. That's why I like him so much. I can get cheaper but I can't get better. He's about his business for real. I have never felt disrespected by and he has never ever been nasty. Not sure what happened at that store, but I can assure you, if you're looking for a well qualified electrician who is an EXPERT in his field, call Dave and use Blue Line.
I had received a referral from a neighbor for Gill's and they did not disappoint. I started with a small project to install a new outlet, but was impressed, so decided to use them for a full re-wire job to remove old knob & tube wiring and install a new sub-panel. I got multiple quotes, and Gill's was reasonably priced and able to move quickly. My project manager was Will, and Denis was the lead Electrician. Denis and his team were always on time, extremely professional, and communicated well when asking questions and getting direction from me and my wife to make sure they were installing the circuits and new lighting to our liking. I would 100% recommend them to anyone doing a big or small job.

OMG! I don’t know what would of happened if Devin didn’t come to our rescue!My coworkers car keys got stolen in Oakland :-(! In one of my projects I felt horrible for him! We always take care of our employees!I soon as I heard this I reached out to a couple lock smith the first one responded really quick and never sent a technician!!! We wasted more than half of day waiting for them!At around noon I found two wheeled locksmith!! Devin didn’t answer my call but texted me right away! I was a bit sketchy at first due to my experience with the first locksmith that I reached to! I constantly kept texting Devin even tho he confirmed multiple times he was going to go help us, I couldn’t help feeling anxious. I even called him but Devin was so patience with me he understood my worry! For the 500th time (lol) he reassure me he was going to go to the site in 20mins and 20mins later my coworker confirmed Devin had arrived!!!Devin ended up replacing the ignition free of charge and took my guy to the store with him to Keep him safe (it was dark already) Devin grow up in that area and was concerned for my guy standing in the street on his own! My heart fills up with happiness thinking of everything Devin did to keep my guy safe!Devin worked until 8pm just to make sure my coworker got home safe!I can’t thank Devin enough for going the extra mile!! Manny and Frank were both prompt, professional and honest. Their foreman Edgar and his crew work fast and diligently, leaving me with a new garage wall that will last 100 years. They did all of this without leaving a speck of dust behind, and even touched up the exterior paint of the garage.

Basically, everything that needed to be done was done well! This was a relief, as my abundant past experiences with contractors, plumbers and other professional services often required me to keep a close eye to avoid pitfalls. With Challenge Rooter, Chebo the owner, Rosa and staff in the office, and the highly-experienced teams of workers maintained clear communication throughout the process, were responsive to any questions I might have, and the scheduling was precise. The big equipment came and went on time exactly as needed. The scope of project was clarified at the beginning, and the price and timing was completed as agreed. I could not be happier.
Job Juarez and his team has helped us with a couple of remodel projects - 1) adding a deck and double doors to walkout to the back deck/patio and 2) renovating our kitchen which included taking down walls and adding beams.JJ has been great to work with - worked with us through surprises that come along with renovations, is patient and conscientious and doesn't cut corners, and is thoughtful in the recommendations/ideas that he proposes. His crew is polite and easy to work with as well.
Francisco and his team are amazing tree removal experts. They are hard working, professional, punctual and efficient. Their pricing is also probably the best quote you'll get although they don't do stump removal. To have insurance over your project you'll contract with Encinal Tree Service but Francisco will.run the project. If you go without insurance you may be able to sub contract him directly for a discount. He came almost immediately upon calling for an estimate, with his daughter, he is a hard working family man. They did a massive pruning of a 80-100ft eucalyptus as well as removal of 2 acacias and crown pruning of a loquat. I'd hire him again for sure.
A2Z just completed our kitchen remodel, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. Communication with our team, led by Dror, was excellent throughout the project. They were super-responsive, often answering our texts or emails within minutes, and were completely transparent about plans and schedules. It was clearly important to them to earn our trust and confidence, which they did from day 1. Eduardo, who was working at our house nearly every day, was excellent from both a technical and artistic perspective, worked extremely hard, and was always friendly and accommodating. He offered a number of design and construction suggestions that invariably improved on our design concepts. The tile backsplash was our design and fairly complex to install; Eduardo did a beautiful job (see photo). When our butcherblock countertop fabricator/installer, a contractor not associated with A2Z, made errors that delayed the project by nearly 2 weeks, our A2Z team did everything possible to make up the lost time and finish our kitchen by the end date they had promised. There were never any surprises or hidden costs; in fact, when challenges popped up, they came up with and carried out elegant solutions, at no extra cost to us. Our kitchen is gorgeous, and we will happily hire A2Z again for any future remodeling in our home.
Great service for a great value. I coordinated for my aunt who lives in San Francisco and needed new insulation and air ducts in her old Victorian home. Rami and his office communicated with me the entire way through. They were very patient with my aunt and careful to clean up after themselves. The attic looks great (from the pictures they sent). We are very pleased and would recommend to anyone looking for work in their attic.
Absolutely top notch. The Bay Area is filled with shoddy contractors who take ages to do mediocre or poor work. All Seasons is a bit pricier but is absolutely worth ever penny. They are professional, fast, efficient and do top quality work. My driveway looks incredible and the process (though a bit delayed due to the weather) was seamless and easy. They also did my foundation retaining wall several years back and also did outstanding work. If you want it done right, All seasons is the contractor to go with.
I had bought a new prehung front door and had M 7.24 Builders installed and painted it for me. They did a great job. I also had a leak issue with my bathroom air vent. M 7.24 was able to diagnose the issue after cutting up section of my ceiling in the bathroom. Turns out to be a corroding vent duct. They were able to replace it and patch up the ceiling with the same texture and paint it. I would recommend this company for any repair and remodeling around the house. Henry and his team were great

This company is still on my top list for any work at our church facility located in downtown Oakland. They have done so much including remodeling out church kitchen which looks amazing. I have hired this company to do a lot of work at my property just after seeing what they did at the church. They work 7 days with no day off just to make sure to meet the completion time. They work good with customer for approaching the better deal of their dream projects.
DIG installed our graywater system and rainwater tanks. Throughout, Mano, Niko, and others have been fantastically patient, calm and competent. They've also gone over and beyond with followup help when we've needed it. We couldn't recommend them more highly.

Jesse and ethos built did an awesome job with our custom built in banquette seating. The workmanship is high and they did the job at a very reasonable rate. We had some challenges around schedules and timing but all in all I would definitely recommend ethos built if you're looking for any sort of carpentry / cabinet work.
Working with Chuck was a great experience. As an owner of a historic Victorian, any repair work is always an adventure. Chuck ensured we understood each step as we addressed structural rot and replaced exterior siding that had to be matched because our home is on the city's historic registry. We worked with Lara and Bountiful Botanicals on a project to install a patio, turf and landscaped areas in our yard after removing our pool. We could not have been more happier with the result! The space looks amazing, and we finally have a flat and visually appealing place to be outdoors with our kids!
Lara and her team were amazing to work with. We chose Lara over other companies because we needed someone with a good eye and judgment to work through all the design details. Lara was onsite every morning with her crew, and we communicated regularly throughout the project to make all the design decisions. I don't think it would have turned out this well if we had worked with someone else.
Also: Lara's team is amazing - they are incredible craftsmen who take pride in doing great work. I was amazed by what they could do, and they did an all-around fantastic job throughout the project.

Justine has been great. He came and pruned the Granda Flora Magnolia in my back patio. There is no access and he took the initiative to go to the apartment building next door to get permission to bring his truck into their lot. I could tell he loves trees and loves to climb. He and his helper did a great job of pruning and cleaning up everything afterward. Since then I've consulted with him on a root issue. He was helpful and graciously gave me advice.
Gregg and crew are great to work with! We've used them at least 3 times now. They are really knowlegable about trees and pruning. I can trust that they will interpret what I ask of them and tell me if it can be done, or if not advisable they provide an explanation. Very tidy, respectful and polite service. Gary and his crew did a wonderful job pruning our two sequoias on our property line. After the pruning was completed, all the new cuttings and old dead fall were efficiently removed and the yard raked clean leaving it emaculate. The whole process from the initial estimate to completion of the service could not have gone smoother. I couldn't be happier with the results and how the trees and yard turned out. I will definitely use Sequoia Tree Service again.
I just LOVE this dental office. I was introduced to Dr. Victor Chaney in December of 1979, I have been a patient ever since. My children all grew up with Dr. Chaney. I go in every 6 months. I can’t imagine going anywhere else. Now we have Dr. Alex who joined the practice. What a wonderful addition. Both Dr. Vic and Dr. Alex are so personable and caring. All their work is professionally done with a gentle touch. The patient’s comfort is always their number one concern. All the office members are so friendly and helpful. I recommend this office to everyone.

I loved it . cons: there is nowhere easily rinse my mouth I gotta stand up and walk toward to the sink to rinse inside of my mouth. so I almost swallow my blood in my mouth Also, when i ask to get a tissue someone gave me a stiff brown tissue but I needed to blow my nose. I got it eventually but they dont know how to serve patients . also its hard to find parking spot they only had 3 spots but itwasnot easy to park . I eventually park a block away after paying. I like their skill though

I absolutely LOVE Little Goldfish Dentistry! The dental assistants and the dentist are amazing. My daughter has been coming here since she was about 10 months. I love how they make the office very kid friendly ever season it's decorated and looks so nice. The front office ladies are great and so sweet. Dr.P is great as well I love how he interact with the kiddos. My favorite is the balloons and certificate at the end. They are very good at following up with you after the appointment and doing appointment reminder calls. Oh and during certain holidays they decorate and have a photo wall for the kids. It's so cute I would post pics but they all have my kiddos face lol so just go for yourself and check this place. They recently renovated and it looks so good in there.

I was not comfortable going to the dentist because I knew my mouth needed work. When I got there I found out just how much, and that was scary. I initially had deep scaling done but to my surprise I was not afraid to return. That is because Dr. Lance, his wife and staff are a friendly ,true, professional team. It was clear to me that Dr. Lance knew what he was doing and that relieved my anxiety. My biggest fear was getting silver fillings removed. There is so much information out there about mercury poisioning. When I expressed my concerns I was given complete information and any questions I had were answered. You're told just how much everything costs, so there are no surprises and with all the work that was done, I was very pleased that my co pay was affordable. I ended up with a pleasant surprise. I had a few fillings done and the results were that those teeth are beautiful. I wish the rest of my teeth looked that nice. Dr. Lance is a true artist. Clean office, current technology, friendly people, dentists and technicians that are on top of their game - if you need dental care, Lakeshore Family Dentistry is the place to go. Just want to say "Thank you" to all of you.

Over the last few years in his care, Dr. Louie has proven himself to be an excellent dentist. He does his own cleanings and is calm and gentle during treatment. I recently had some cosmetic work done where he added composite to my front teeth and the outcome was excellent - I couldn't be happier.
I am really optimistic about my dental journey after having my first appointment at Oakland Smile Dentistry. Everyone from the front desk receptionist to the hygienists and Doctors were kind, informative and understanding. DR. CELESTE ALLEN is God's Angel! Truly & honestly. My kids have been seeing Dr. Allen for over 10+ years. She is attentive, caring, and truly an amazing person. They started seeing Dr. Allen when we lived in Oakland. We moved to Hercules & then Pittsburg and I still drive 30-45 minutes so they can see her. She is that good. My oldest daughter is now 23 and still sees Dr. Allen. She dreads turning 25 because she will not be able to continue as her patient. I have been holding off on writing this review because I really didn't want to share Dr. Allen but I'm realizing that others need her as well. DR. CELESTE ALLEN IS THE BEST!
Best chiropractic office in Oakland. Some of us need ongoing chiropractic care to manage; and Dr. Melissa Crago has been it for me. I needed immediate care one Saturday and stumbled on her office being open, best thing that happened. I've also seen Dr. Ryan and I feel extremely taken care of by both practictioners. The office support is amazing and holistic; Dr. Crago has set me up w/ referrals and been supportive with pain management. Great hours, always supportive.
After several months of consistent NS sessions I developed a much greater access to a clear, calm energy in my daily life. Much of my anxiety, social or other, seems to have dissipated for the most part. I experience a quicker return to center from difficult or uncomfortable thoughts, emotions, and interactions. I am able to let things go with greater ease. My posture is more comfortable and many tensions and pain in my body are greatly or completely reduced. The space itself is clean, calm, and relaxing. Gianna and Kevin are lovely human beings! They are warm, peaceful, and accepting. Highly recommend the NS experience at Harmony Center!

I saw Dr. Ban after almost two weeks of debilitating pain. Before Dr. Ban it was urgent care and Dr. visits, all resulting in the offer of pain meds and time to feel better. After one visit to Dr. Ban I felt hope and at least 50% better. Within a week I felt like I could do basic tasks again and within a week more I had graduated to maintenance care with full movement again. I will continue to see Dr. Ban because I believe she has my best interests in mind. She shows integrity in her care and in the frequency she recommends. She listens to me and is excellent in finding the cause of pain. I went to see Dr. Ban originally out of necessity. Now I see her to maintain a level of personal care I was lacking and I look forward to continuing.
Waltz family is very helpful and attentive, as well as knowledgable and during my regular visits I was listened to and my adjustments always left me feeling better than I came in, and over time I've been able to regain some of my lost mobility and that has helped me a lot on my fitness and health goals. I highly recommed consulting with them on your health journey.
I've been coming here for years. My body has lots of challenges between scoliosis, pectus excavatum, and most recently a hip injury from losing so much muscle mass post-surgery. My body is in so much pain and non- functional when I'm not coming here. Cannot recommend Dr. Malcolm enough. After my hip injury, I'd been doing PT for 8 months, seen multiple specialists at Kaiser with very minimal improvement. Finally decided to go back to chiropractic and after 2 adjustments from Dr. Malcolm, my pain and functionality are DRASTICALLY improved. He's thorough, knowledgeable, explains what's going on with your anatomy and offers exercises for continual improvement. The whole staff is welcoming and supportive. This is the care you need. Doctor Dom and everyone here are wonderful. I had incredible pain in my lower back that made it difficult to walk and even drive. The methods used are gentle, with no twisting or cracking. Dr. Dom continuously checks in to make sure her adjustments feel good, tolerable, or painful so you aren't wondering if the adjustment is supposed to feel a certain way.

Amazing. Dr. Martinet's work is unique, varied, highly skilled and effective, even in as little as 15 minutes. A massage therapist assessed my C7 was 'out.' With experience seeing over 25 chiropractors, I can confidently state that Dr. Tom is among the best you will ever come across. Unlike many others, his approach is holistic and highly individualized. From the moment you meet him, you can feel his genuine care and dedication to helping you, rather than just following a routine set of adjustments and rushing you out the door. My body has responded exceptionally well to his treatments, and I have now completely forgotten about the pain that plagued me in the past year or two.
The staff at Thornhill pet hospital is the best!! Theres something really special about this place. Dr.Yang and Alicia, take great pride in the work that they do. They keep me informed of the care they give to my dogs, and i totally trust their judgement and decisions. They strangely have a special connection with the animals, which makes their care that much better. Ive taken all my dogs to Thornhill pet hospital and wouldnt even consider any other veterinarian.
Easy to make an appt online. They came and were great with my cat, whom I could never ever have gotten into a carrier. Very easy to work with. Kind to my cats. Everything I could want in a mobile vet! Also gave me good advice for next time making him a little easier to get into a space where they could work with him. Highly recommended. Reasonable prices. My kitty, Calypso, always had wonderful care with everyone at Claremont. The front desk staff is efficient and pleasant. The techs are caring and gracious. The doctors who saw Calypso, Leggeri and McDonald, are informative, thorough and communicative. However, my most recent need was euthanizing my dear sweet friend. It followed a month of exploration into what was wrong, referring me to an outside vet for confirmation and discussion so that I was able to make the decision to go the palliative care/end of life route that was best for Calypso. When the time came to let Calypso go, the Claremont front desk was so kind. The tech was so gentle. Dr. McDonald was professional yet understanding, tender and compassionate, letting me know exactly what she was about to do on each step. The empathy from all was not sappy but distinct. I was given as much private time with Calypso as I needed during the various stages of the process. It was awful to lose my beloved sweetheart but I couldn't have asked for a better team to help me help Calypso move onto her next journey. From the bottom of my heart, I cannot thank you all enough.
I have never trusted or felt comfortable with a vet more than I do here at Plaza Vet. He is always straight forward, there is no guilt or up selling crap my animals don't need.
I love the ease of the experience. Once you have an online account with the clinic it is so easy to book appointments and keep track of all your pet's needs. The staff are super friendly and make me feel welcome. The vet listens to concerns and explains everything clearly.
I had a minor concern for my dog, a large rash and hitching/scratching. The receptionist could not book an appointment when I visited the hospital, but she gave me advice and I was able to book an appointment the next day once they were done with their triage for the day. The doctor addressed both the current concern for my dog but also discussed his health in general and his current medications since he is an older dog with a heart murmur. The staff is attentive, proactive and kind.
Definitely five stars from us. Taking your fur baby for a surgery is never fun. Our Roxy needed TPLO surgery after hurting both back knees. Our Dr. was very genuine when giving us options during the consultation. Also, the staff was very professional and comforting. I hope not to return and if I do, I have the confidence my fur baby will be treated with comfort.

Dr. Dorsey and Dr. Hart are the nicest, kindest, most professional veterinarians. They have nursed and helped me through four cats. I love their office staff. They try to get appointments for any of my fur babies, and when one of them passed away, the office gave a donation to a cat illness research. I can't say enough about how much I appreciate all their service and care for my pets. They are so reassuring and when the time comes for… Again, they are empathetic and sympathetic.
I got my dog spayed here recently and was incredibly impressed by how well run this place was. They communicated all the instructions very clearly ahead of time, so I knew exactly what to expect. The surgery went perfectly, my dog recovered very quickly and needed no follow-ups. You don’t get any personalized care, but that’s to be expected. I was hesitant to use a clinic for this procedure, but was pleasantly surprised by the facility and the staff. I’d definitely recommend to anyone looking for a more affordable way to spay/neuter their pet. Thank you so much!

Nice place. Professional people. Great techs. Appointments taken on time. Got dental surgery for my guy on quite a short notice. Was afraid he could not be seen due to a lack of recent vaccines, and records since he had only been to moving clinics and a cheaper unreliable vet, but it was no issue! He’s a bit difficult and still handled him great. Definitely the vet we will be sticking with. More on the pricey side but nothing you wouldn’t expect from a good vet.
We’ve taken two dogs here over the years, some with odd diagnoses, and all have been treated accurately. We can even get refills of some medications from reception without bringing the dog in (again) and waiting, which saves the price of a visit (which is a reasonable price for a visit). Dr. Tan is an old school practitioner and he will see any person and animal that walks through the door - first come, first served, hours between 10am-2pm. Definitely recommend Dr. Tan’s practice and dread the day he decides to retire!
Just had out first appointment with L&J Grooming and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Lindsey and Justin were great! My dog loved them right away. We got the works and when I picked him up, he looked adorable. Fresh summer cut, trimmed nails and he smelled amazing! We will definitely be returning to L&J.

I was attending a conference at the Oakland Convention Center and took Amelia's morning yoga class offered on floor 21 of the Marriott. It was a stunning view and Amelia was a great teacher. I really liked the way she spoke about which move was coming next and I felt very comfortable even as a beginner. Highly recommend hiring her if you have an event.
Left Coast is an absolutely amazing yoga studio! Most classes are warmed to around 82; initially I wasn’t sure if I’d enjoy this but I love it. Instructors are warm and friendly, giving clear cues on how to get into the poses with the right alignment, and without hurting yourself. My favorite teachers at this location are Deb and Malka - Deb teaches slower Alignment Flow and Flow + Restore classes and Malka teaches Power Yoga, which is more of an energetic vinyasa flow. Also love some of the newer teachers, like Zach and Malika. Definitely check it out! They have a great new student special - first month of unlimited classes for $75.
I have been with Mountain Yoga for a year and I love it! I did a wide sampling of studios from Walnut Creek to Oakland and landed on Mountain Yoga. Basically, it felt most worth my time and money. I learn so many different things from all the teachers that I do not mind driving from Moraga to Oakland 2 to 3 times per week.
This place is a true treasure of wisdom. I have been doing moment for 30+ years yoga, tai chi, martial arts. Working as a professional and a teacher for 20 of those years. JinSung was showing me things that are fundamental to movement and alignment that I have never seen or heard of. In three class I have had breakthroughs that I didn’t know where possible on a physical and emotional level with relationship to my body and moment. Please do your self a solid and take a beginner level 1-2 class with JinSung and come with an open mind and heart and see what happens.
Susan Urqhart-Brown is a fine human being and teacher. She has all the great yoga teacher components in place: compassion, knowledge, spirituality, kindness, devotion, and patience. I highly recommend Susan’s Anjori Yoga classes!

My initial evaluation by Dr Feng was very enlightening, with a bonus of chronic pain relief. I’ve been treated for over a decade by a ND, who has helped me significantly. However, I am traveling across the country again to see Dr Feng. He’s given me hope that I can heal myself.
First time taking a hot yoga class. I enjoyed my experience, easy instructions and very welcoming. Lydia is an awesome teacher. I highly recommend her class!

Used a class pass at this hot yoga studio with my daughter and enjoyed the class. Be warned that it is hot yoga so not for the feint of heart. The class was 90 minutes long so the extra time made it harder. I admit that during the last 1/2 hour, I was itching to leave. Thankfully that's when the resting poses come in. The heat does add to the workout and heats up your body. I need to get more acclimated to the temp! Lots of fun, I can see why folks enjoy it!
Ive been taking Pilates once a week for almost 2 years now at Reactive Movement. It’s been an excellent experience and I definitely feel stronger, more aligned and balanced. The instructors are great and a special shout out to Jaclyn who gives amazing instruction and always changes up our weekly class and keeps it interesting. I always feel mentally and physically better after my class.I also love the vibe at the studio, very mellow and all the equipment is modern, kept clean and well maintained.
i LOVE taking pilates from Anya. She tailors each session to my pain points (hips, back, and feet), makes micro-adjustments to maximize each movement, and balances strengthening with stretching. My body feels so much better after each session! She also incorporates massage (if you'd like) and offers meditative/wellness advice (if you ask) - based on your interest. Not to mention, she's lovely to talk to and easy to get along with. And her studio is peaceful with a variety of equipment. I feel very lucky I found her!
I have been working with Sarah at Precision Point Pilates for about 3 weeks now, twice a week. A short period of time but already I know I hit the jackpot of Pilates trainers! Not only does Sarah know which exercises I need, she also knows anatomy and can explain the placement of bones and muscles and how they work together. This helps me visualize what I am doing and why. This is especially important for me as I am still recovering from a shoulder joint replacement surgery.I didn't think I could ever take reformer palates again after my surgery, but Sarah proved me wrong. I look forward to getting stronger as I continue my training so I can keep up with my very active adorable grandchildren!
I was suffering from neck and shoulder pain for the past 3 weeks. Not only was Nehal able to set it right so I could turn my head again but also let me know where my body needed more attention and where I had knots and tightness by just feeling my back.

Ed has been incredibly helpful for addressing issues on my posterior chain. His knowledge and experience has opened my eyes for someone who’s never received massage therapy treatment prior to meeting him.Some context - I grew up as a year-round competitive swimmer throughout my life that later transitioned to weigh lifting 4-5 times a week. I developed a lot of tension and stiffness in my hamstrings, lower back, neck, and traps. After my first session with Ed, I can already feel an incredible difference with my muscles loosened up and pain alleviated.He was professional the entire process. Before ironing me out, he gave me an assessment and asked of any particular pain and discomfort. His approach to understanding my daily routine, exercise, and history of injury only further helped to treat my body.During the massage therapy, Ed made sure I was well within my pain tolerance without sacrificing my need for deep tissue treatment. That was a huge plus for me. I got the Thai Jade Gua Sha massage (lymphatic drainage massage) Face and neck by Patricia. It was incredibly relaxing and therapeutic. I came in with tight shoulders and upper back...now that was taxing, but it was well needed. The Gua Sha portion on my face was soothing and light. I ended up going home and messing up my sleep because I knocked out about 45 mins when I got home around 7pm and now I'm writing a review at 2am because reasons... The place itself was very clean and welcoming, parking is a bit tough though because it is Montclair.
Marcelina is amazing. I went to her for a few months prior to moving away from the area and I was sad to go. She was so knowledgable about maintaining balance (in life!) and taught me powerful breath work that helped so much during my massage. She was able to loosen up my chronically tight neck and shoulders too. What can I say, she's the best, I highly recommend her!

Very seamless to set up and Meg definitely knows where the sore areas are. I was being induced later that evening and so booked an appointment with her for the morning. I was starting to dilate but wasn't in active labor. She helped address some sore areas and also pushed on some trigger points to begin labor. My water broke naturally later and went into labor that next morning. The massage itself was wonderful and Meg was lovely to talk to during the massage. I would absolutely recommend!
I had gone to 3 other locations in the past for PT and I was so lucky to find Renew PT in Oakland. The 5 star reviews are all spot on and was so relieved to have this gem with wonderful staff in the front and PTs who are so thorough and excellent in assessing and providing effective exercises that really made a difference. The work space was very clean, not crowded and was a pleasure to go to. I liked that the exercise routines were easily accessible with video links that demonstrated the correct way to do the routines. I had Jeff and Lena for my physical therapists and both were great. I would definitely return to Renew if I needed rehab PT in the future.
I couldn't be more happier picking Emily for my PT needs. I came to her after doing PT from other locations, but I didn't feel my wrist was any better for climbing. - Flexible on scheduling, I saw her five times every 3-4 weeks, with a focus on home exercises, which was exactly what I was looking for (and I graduated when we both felt it was time). Note that her exercises targeted my wrist issues more closely than the generic ones I've been given from insurance covered PT and online sources - She was very familiar with my body type, as she worked with dancers and paid close attention to my hypermobility - Even though I went to her for my wrist, we were also simultaneously able to work on my right shoulder rotator cuff (which I completely forgot about) and my left ankle. Other PTs (at least with insurance) wouldn't provide this level of attention. - Able to climb while rehabbing! She provided a very specific climbing regimen, which was fantastic for accountability - Looked over climbing videos and helped correct my form (since climbing caused my injuries in the first place) In three months, I am back to projecting again, and she has given me a solid foundation to continue my climbing and non climbing goals. I wish I had seen her first, would have saved me six months of time. Highly recommend Emily, especially if any of the above resonated with you.
Dr. Kristin is a gifted diagnostician and genuine healer. After carefully assessing my problem, she developed a customized plan that we amend each week as I make progress. She's an excellent communicator. The office staff is likewise efficient and accommodating. I highly recommend this practice!

Edie goes deep in her evaluation, bringing decades of experience, education, insight, and wisdom about how our bodies perform, and she then works with you on solutions that actually work for you and your lifestyle. She does all of this with grace, patience, compassion, and humor. Best of all, she LOVES what she does and it shows.I went to Edie with a laundry list of flat feet, persistent lower back pain, tendonitis in my wrists and elbows, and massive neck/shoulder lockup with chronic headaches. Edie took one look at my feet and said they're not (structurally) flat, they're just flexible and weak, but the good news is that we can probably fix them. In just 6 weeks my gait has improved and, with it, my posture. I no longer wake up aching and stiff. My headaches have cleared, thanks to Edie's bodywork (yep, her approach to healing is holistic and she doesn't just do PT). And, I never thought I'd say this, but I love the exercises she gives me. They make me feel so good during and after. Edie's studio is like the ultimate playground. She has all kinds of equipment, props, and tools that she puts to full use to find personalized solutions for you.Pro tip: Don't hold back, be honest about your habits and how you live, so that you can benefit from Edie's work. I love to hang out in bed for more hours than the average cat and I knew it was adding to my already existing back pain. On the very strong recommendation of another PT who had moved out of the area, I went to see Steve Ryan for reverse total shoulder replacement post-op physical therapy. Steve is simply the best, most knowledgeable, competent, straightforward, compassionate, patient and organized physical therapist I have ever worked with. The written instructions and (excellent) videos for the prescribed PT exercises are available the day of or 1 day after your appointment. He is very organized and prompt so appointments are always on time. I am 79 years old and very active for my age. Steve guided me through a major glitch in my surgical recovery and I am now fully back to all my physical activities. I'm sure I couldn't have done this without his professional mentorship. Strongly and without hesitation thank and recommend Dr. Stephen Ryan for physical therapy.

I started coming here for TCM health care every week a couple months ago and have been seen by Jen and Chris so far. I am blown away by their level of professionalism and expertise. I've seen at least a dozen acupuncturists over the years, but never have I been to a practice like this where quality is consistent. Everyone that works here takes what they do seriously and they treat you with respect and care, including Sylk, Rebecca, and Perla. If I could give them all 10 stars I would... although I hope there will still be room for me in their calendars. =)

The thing I liked about my initial phone call was that Wanda directed me towards another community acupuncture clinic (as she had stopped offering the service) and did not press me to come see her. I ended up calling her back the next day and making an appointment.Kokoro Clinic does not take insurance and I initially hesitated to book because of this. Community acupuncture turns out to be as positive as it sounds. Not only does it provide vital care even for those of us who can’t afford what we need at one-on-one prices — such an important mission — but the quality of care is excellent. I’ve had a fair amount of acupuncture at various times and in various places, earlier in my life; I feel qualified to say that Evelyn definitely has “the touch”. Though I banged up my aging shoulders pretty badly and then made it even worse by not getting any care, (couldn’t afford it and didn’t know about community acupuncture until recently), I can feel improvement after each session. The whole experience is calm, peaceful, and respectful.

Joseph is an incredible teacher and he will show you everything you need to know to pass your driving test and (more importantly) how to be a safe driver. I have waited until my early 30s to get my license and I was quite nervous to finally learn, but Joseph made me feel comfortable and helped instill confidence in me. He is very encouraging and is always a joy to talk to during lessons. He also charges a very reasonable rate. I feel grateful to have been his student!
Excellent company. Mona and Latrisa helped my daughter passed her driving test. My daughter originally went through a different driving school and I'll be honest, they did not prepare her well. I found Mona's company on Yelp and from the moment I talked to Mona and met with her I knew my daughter was in the right hands. I wish I had known Mona before we went with the other driving school because I believe my daughter would have passed on her first try. This was my daughter's second try and Mona and Latrisa were able to correct the errors that my daughter made on her first try. Was reading reviews about "overpriced" and some other negative stuff. They are one of the only schools that will take you to DMV in a truck with an instructor. The snivelers with the "their mean" are slackers that think they are going to get handed their license.
