The insurance company make it a very, very stressful situation. I was worried and sick of owing money to everyone so I decided to call an attorney. I went with a local law firm here in Oakland, Karen and Karns. They were really helpful. I went to meet them at their office . Talk to their returning, signed all the paperwork and a couple days after that they took over all of the nightmare, I was dealing with with the insurance company and then a great settlement.
Very understanding. If you question anything, he slows down and listens very carefully. It is rare for a doctor to be this genuinely thoughtful and flexible. I love this place. Particularly how his office has his brother’s headshot pictures of various movie stars.

Went to Tresca for the first time several months ago and it was a good experience. She was able to replicate the image I showed her of reference pictures with a little adjustment based on what we thought would look best. Got a short shaggy cut that would grow out into a mullet with shaved sides. The haircut made me feel very confident and it is now a go-to haircut of mine. I was nervous paying with cash so I calculated the tip wrong in my head so I tipped too little and I felt bad :( I did not realize until afterwards.

I was referred to Vee by my bestfriend Machelle. I showed Vee some pictures , I wanted to perm my hair. I came in but my hair was unfortunately too short and she told me to come back when it gets a bit longer. Which at that point she wanted to make sure it came out to how I wanted it. Not a quick money grab just to do it. I came back about 2 months later and man she made my dreams come true , my hair looks sooo good. Exceeded my expectations! Very honest very professional!! Hair rescue!! I have a performance tomorrow and Madrid took me in last minute. I cut my own big chop a couple months ago and I had no idea what I was doing, so it came out uneven, split ends and no shape. Ive been rocking a curly Afro to mask the mess until I found Madrid today. He is an expert stylist with amazing cutting skills. Madrid shaped my cut to compliment my face and make my color look like highlights! His products brought my hair back to life and they smell good, too! My favorite place to get a haircut. I brought Mom here for the first time. She never got a nicely styled and hair cut because she always opted for those cheaper haircuts. Adam Wayne is absolutely amazing--an intuitive craftsman who managed to "get" my challenging hair, which is a combo of both straight and wavy and cannot take just any old cut. Adam also did my highlights which I'm using as a way to lean into going more gray. I've gotten soooo many compliments on my hair and have never been happier.

There is a first time for everything and my first time getting my haircut a Terrance Barbershop was a great experience. First of all, his Barbershop is one of the cleanest, greatly kept up barbershops I've ever been to. Second, Terrance is nice and great to talk to and really cares about his clients. Third, I don't really care for big barbershops with multiple barbers and multiple people. One barber with one chair and not a lot of people is perfect for me. I highly recommend everyone to have Terrance cut their hair. You have to make an appointment and that's not a hassle. Shoutout to Terrance for hooking up the fade. Terrance is definitely going to be my go to barber!
Universe is an amazing stylist. Her haircuts are precise, stylish, and trendy, yet matched to my preferences (short, low-maintenance). She always has new ideas to try, which makes the experience all the more fun. The other stylists/barbers at the barbershop are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. This place is awesome, last time I came here Mike took care of me. He had me looking fresh plus the Charles is an awesome Guy. Feels like a really barbershop for fancy folk to be honest but everyone there is down to earth. Service was great, music was great, and the atmosphere was great as well. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Wanted to gate keep this place but need to share it with people so they also have an awesome experience when they get they cut.

Amazing. Took my 80 year old father here for a shave. He was treated so kind and with patience. He loved his shave and he's looks great. My dad's only complaint was about his sideburns, but I'm going to chalk that up to him being 80 and felt it necessary to fuss about something. Was looking for an open late spot to get a haircut with line design after work on a Friday night and discovered this place by chance. I'm glad I did, because this was hands down the cleanest shape up I've gotten since moving to East Bay. Appreciate that they had comfy couches and shots while you wait and hot towels for after. Terry gave me a great cut, and Isaiah did an awesome job on the line design. Prices were very reasonable--$50 for the cut, and an extra $10 for the line design. I've gotten so many complements on the fresh cut around the town today. 10/10 would recommend.
Sam was very kind despite me being tired and non-interactive. He continued to learn about me and we had a wonderful conversation. The barbers here will always try to tailor the haircut to the individual. However, I cannot justify the price tag to myself. If you have the money, then this is a great location.
Soon as you come into the Spa, you are asked to wash your hands. The Spa was very well cleaned. Complimentary beverages are given and all of the staff were friendly, treating each guest like royalty! My leg and feet massage was EVERYTHING! It was not rushed, gentle yet therapeutic in nature. The music was soothing relaxing the mind. I really love this place, and I’m grateful I found it! Did a same day walk in. I went in for a pedicure and full set, loved the fact that they made way to get me seated right away for my pedicure, the gentleman who helped me was older guy with glasses, he made sure I was accommodated with a drink on their menu which I got water instead but they had other options which I liked. It was a bit humid in there, but I didn’t mind much of it, I know it’s summer and the heat is a lot this year. Gave them a vision of how I wanted my nails done and they all worked as a team, they don’t do acrylic which I was surprised to hear, but they have a different method which I think is way better and chemically safer opposed to the strong acrylic you smell going into other nail shops, where you smell it so strong to the point you almost pass out. It was easy, safe, and smoother they should recommend other shops to use this safw method. I had my 2 year old too and they were very good with her and patient which is a plus to me! Love the way my nails turned out will be back!

Lunar New Year Cat Eye stamped nails by O! The best Japanese gel nails done by the best nail professional. Meant to post this earlier but I have been caught up in my first home purchase (sorry O!). I smile every time I look at my nails and it's the ONE self care item that I can do that stays solid until my next appointment with O. She is booked up MONTHS in advance so be AWARE of this and patient. You want the BEST nail tech, you have to book her in advance and she IS worth the wait. Be sure to tip her for what she is worth also because she really puts her heart and soul into her nail artistry and craft. Thank you O! Her studio is very clean and tucked away inside a series of shops in Montclair. Bathroom is always clean in the back also.

I love this salon and have only had really exceptional experiences. I've tried multiple styles, come in at different times, and worked with nearly all the technicians. All have been kind and talented, and I've left very satisfied. Their prices are fair, the salon itself is really cute and relaxed, and I always appreciate the drinks from the mini fridge. I have short curly hair, so I was glad to see in reviews that he is comfortable with a dry cut. He asked me what I was looking for and executed well - he checked with me throughout the cut to make sure he was meeting expectations. Very quick and affordable (although his prices are listed by gender, he regards the length only, so I was charged for a men's cut) - I'll definitely be back again.
I come here all the time to get a full sewn-in from the multi-talented Dionna Richardson. She does braids, weaves, locks, flat-iron, color, literally EVERYTHING! All you have to do is show her a pic of what you want and she's got you! If you are in a time constraint no worries, you will be in and out before you know it. The ambiance is very welcoming and professional. I highly recommend this place!

Jae is the hair care expert. With consistency, Jae will have your hair healthy and beautiful. My thick hair is now well into my back and I won't let anyone else touch it. As a busy professional, it is refreshing to have a hair stylist who is respectful of my time. She does not overbook. I really appreciate that Jae invests in continuing education to keep up with latest and best haircare options.
Hair type: My hair is naturally super thick and coarse. Jae has made my hair very manageable, conditioned, and soft. Now my blowout and straightening lasts between 3-4 weeks, No problem.
Stylist: Jae is amazing. She specializes in Hair Care. My thick hair is soo healthy and has grown in length since I became Jae's client. My hair used to be dry and constantly breaking, but Jae has brought my hair to a wonderful condition. Consistency and doing what Jae says that my hair needs was key. If you want your hair "styled" Jae is also great with that.
Hana is absolutely incredible at what she does. Her skill and attention to detail are unmatched. I always leave with lashes that look perfect and feel natural. Beyond her talent, she has such a warm, calming presence that makes every appointment a pleasure.

Ana Moure is truly a gifted RN with a lovely manner and superior skills. I have been a client for a decade and Ana is consistently professional, available, knowledgeable and has a keen devotion to skincare. She is very comfortable evaluating your skin concerns and making reasonable recommendations. Her office is state of the art with IPL, lasers, peels, microneedling and of course B tox and fillers. Just had another IPL series and am aglow, couldn’t recommend more highly!

I haven't had a lot of experience with facials, but found myself needing some expert skin care so I contacted Charlotte. She was responsive to my request for an appointment and asked questions to get a sense of my skin care needs, including allergies. The studio is a relaxing, pleasant environment and Charlotte was friendly, professional and obviously has a lot of knowledge about what she does. I appreciated that she told me in advance about what she was about to do and how it would feel. Charlotte has a gentle touch, and even though my face was a little pink afterwards as can be expected, my skin was very happy and much improved by the next day. I will definitely be a repeat customer!

Absolutely excellent at what she does. She is very knowledgeable about skin care and tailoring treatment plans to individual needs. I developed persistent acne from mask wearing that it was present for years. She helped clear up my skin in a few months. I still visit for occasional appointments when I feel I need them but after her care I feel like I can maintain my healthy skin well at home too, which is the best kind of care you can ask for. Arlene and ASO are incredible. I came in about a year ago looking for help --- my skin wasn't particularly bad, but I was breaking out regularly and had been for about a decade. (In my 30s.) I wasn't sure if I was the right client, but I'm so glad I went. Arlene was the first person who was able to help me figure out what caused my break outs, and the first person to treat them effectively. To anyone dealing with skin struggles, you must see Arlene!! We've done a year's worth of couples massages with Raine relerford & Aliana Gomez. The experience was nothing short of amazing each time. Great service and in depth massages. The attention to detail in the massages are really amazing and caters to your body's needs. Today, my friend and I had scheduled facials. The neighborhood is really cute with lots of places to eat afterward. We are ecstatic with our facial results. When you make an appointment online it does ask for your credit card information. Nothing is charged until date of your session. Try to get there a bit early there is only street meter parking. Upon arrival we were quickly checked in and offered Prosecco with chocolates. I had a cleansing, extraction ( I will be honest this does hurt), hydration mist, and light chemical peel. My skin is prone to redness from rosacea. My technician made sure to address my skin sensitivity. After my treatment my face was just slightly red (but felt fine) glistening, and hydrated. The products they use smell amazing and feel buttery soft on your skin. Pro tip: currently on Mondays they offer 20% off services just make sure to add a remark when you make your appointment.

The studio was bright, clean and relaxed. It felt like going in for a self care day. I had a tattoo by Arie and worked with her by email to narrow down what I was looking for- flowery, flowing fine line piece that incorporated a tattoo I already had. Chummy was awesome. Me and my best friend went there, he was able to finish 3 tattoos total for us in a reasonable time, at reasonable prices, made cleanliness a priority, and he took us as walk-ins. He is interesting to talk to and I felt comfortable asking him to make certain alterations that I wanted without feeling like a burden. It was also my friend’s first time getting a tattoo and he made sure she felt comfortable and could take breaks if she needed. If I get another tattoo while I’m in the area I’ll definitely be returning.

So it's been a while since I got a tattoo here. (17 years according to Yelp! Gasp! ). I stalked the gorgeous Miya Matsui and I am so glad I checked her out! I wanted Memorial tattoo for my mom, who passed in 2017 and Miya did such a beautiful job! Love her work. The tattoo is of my native Filipino sampaguita and butterfly. She is absolutely phenomenal and worth every fricken penny I spent one her! She definitely needs to have an assistant though. She is super busy and is sometimes not that responsive. Be patient with her though. She is worth the wait.
James and Jason from Pipe Spy did excellent work opening up our blocked 100 foot sewer lateral and then took a video to show the pipe was clear to the sewer main. They explained options for preventing tree roots from getting into the pipe in the future. I hope to use Pipe Spy for future plumbing work.
Pipe Spy personnel returned to replace a section of broken sewer pipe which had allowed tree roots to enter. They were careful to protect plants growing around the pipe and did excellent clean up. All in all we were very pleased with their people and the work they did.
Eddie, the service technician, called before arriving to let me know when he would come. He arrived on time, put white protector covers on his shoes when entering the house. He performed the plumbing work quickly, completely cleaned the work area and was personable, polite and capable. He represented the company well. I would use Oakland Rooter and Plumbing again.
I highly recommend Sewer Master. They provided a fair quote, and performed the work on time and for the cost provided in their proposal. The staff was extremely friendly and professional. All inspections with the city and EBMUD were passed on the first try. After the job was completed, they left my house in pristine condition. I will use them again in the future.

When i made the appointment, it was noted to be 10a, then was told it was 8a-10a. Aidan showed up at 9a. He was very nice and courteous. I offered him a shoe cover and he has his own It didn't take him long to identified the toilet leak. The quotes were on the pricey side. We were not charged for the estimates so on that, I would recommend them.
I had a positive experience working with Sal. We worked with him to get our sump pump replaced and the sump pit cleaned out, in preparation for the rainy season. Needed a sewer lateral replacement and got a great quote that was significantly lower than others I got. There was a one star review here that said their response time was slow and not confidence-inspiring. While I did feel that way at first, (I was about to go with another company before he messaged me after some time) the way he took care of everything from the replacement to the certificate made up for it.
I called Ehret Plumbing because there was a leak under my kitchen sink and my toilet was clogged.
They had availability and were able to schedule me the same day. The price was reasonable and service was great!!! Turns out the P- trap needed to be replaced and they were able to unclog my toilet!

I called Roto Rooter to fix a pipe underneath my house. I'm very happy with the communication with my technician Enrique and the speediness and punctuality when coming out for the service.
Harry Clark Plumbing came out and an estimator gave me an estimate to replace gas my furnace. I compared the price to a couple of other companies on Yelp and their price looked good and they answered my questions. We made an appointment and their team came out and replaced my furnace in just a couple of hours. I got a building inspector myself to come out to give me a permit for the new furnace. The inspector took just a few seconds before signing off on the permit.
We've used Sugi and his crew on 2 different projects, small and larger. Sugi was great in providing guidance to us to complete some parts of the work ourselves. When he and his crew took over they worked efficiently and kept us informed of what was going on as well as understanding our preferences when there were decisions to be made. The finished project met our expectations and has performed well with no problems since completion.
Jorge did an amazing and efficient job at adding electrical outlets and replacing a ceiling light/fan. He called in advance the morning of to let us know his ETA, checked in as needed, finished the job in half a day, including making a run to the store for needed parts, and cleaned up well afterwards. Ok - I have no words for that first review. I have used Dave multiple times in my home because he is literally the only electrician I now trust. He's honest, fair, quick, diligent and works hard. He does the job right or he won't do it at all. No corners are cut. That's why I like him so much. I can get cheaper but I can't get better. He's about his business for real. I have never felt disrespected by and he has never ever been nasty. Not sure what happened at that store, but I can assure you, if you're looking for a well qualified electrician who is an EXPERT in his field, call Dave and use Blue Line.
We contacted Peter Erwin within a few weeks before the deadline for net-metering (NEM) 2.0 applications in California. This was after one of the big solar companies had declined our project because our main panel was not considered solar ready. Pete completely saved the project (and the day) for us: He installed a new main panel, elegantly kept the old panel as a sub-panel and also found a solution to keep the required distance from the gas aerator despite the relative lack of space where the new panel needed to be placed. He then installed solar panels for us at a fair price. Just like with the main panel, Pete completely followed through with this project, too. All of Pete's work has been done according to code, and we have now been enjoying the green energy from our solar system as well as the benefits of the NEM 2.0 program for several weeks - all thanks to Pete. Pete is a genuine, very friendly and incredible person. He is a very fine and fair electrician, he knows the local code and he keeps his promises. We can fully endorse Pete and assure you that you cannot go wrong with him as your electrician and solar expert.

I had received a referral from a neighbor for Gill's and they did not disappoint. I started with a small project to install a new outlet, but was impressed, so decided to use them for a full re-wire job to remove old knob & tube wiring and install a new sub-panel. I got multiple quotes, and Gill's was reasonably priced and able to move quickly. My project manager was Will, and Denis was the lead Electrician. Denis and his team were always on time, extremely professional, and communicated well when asking questions and getting direction from me and my wife to make sure they were installing the circuits and new lighting to our liking. I would 100% recommend them to anyone doing a big or small job.

We always take care of our employees!I soon as I heard this I reached out to a couple lock smith the first one responded really quick and never sent a technician!!! We wasted more than half of day waiting for them!At around noon I found two wheeled locksmith!! Devin didn’t answer my call but texted me right away! I was a bit sketchy at first due to my experience with the first locksmith that I reached to! I constantly kept texting Devin even tho he confirmed multiple times he was going to go help us, I couldn’t help feeling anxious. I even called him but Devin was so patience with me he understood my worry! For the 500th time (lol) he reassure me he was going to go to the site in 20mins and 20mins later my coworker confirmed Devin had arrived!!!Devin ended up replacing the ignition free of charge and took my guy to the store with him to Keep him safe (it was dark already) Devin grow up in that area and was concerned for my guy standing in the street on his own! Francisco and his team are amazing tree removal experts. They are hard working, professional, punctual and efficient. Their pricing is also probably the best quote you'll get although they don't do stump removal. To have insurance over your project you'll contract with Encinal Tree Service but Francisco will.run the project. If you go without insurance you may be able to sub contract him directly for a discount. He came almost immediately upon calling for an estimate, with his daughter, he is a hard working family man. They did a massive pruning of a 80-100ft eucalyptus as well as removal of 2 acacias and crown pruning of a loquat. I'd hire him again for sure.

A2Z just completed our kitchen remodel, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. Communication with our team, led by Dror, was excellent throughout the project. They were super-responsive, often answering our texts or emails within minutes, and were completely transparent about plans and schedules. It was clearly important to them to earn our trust and confidence, which they did from day 1. Eduardo, who was working at our house nearly every day, was excellent from both a technical and artistic perspective, worked extremely hard, and was always friendly and accommodating. He offered a number of design and construction suggestions that invariably improved on our design concepts. The tile backsplash was our design and fairly complex to install; Eduardo did a beautiful job (see photo). When our butcherblock countertop fabricator/installer, a contractor not associated with A2Z, made errors that delayed the project by nearly 2 weeks, our A2Z team did everything possible to make up the lost time and finish our kitchen by the end date they had promised. There were never any surprises or hidden costs; in fact, when challenges popped up, they came up with and carried out elegant solutions, at no extra cost to us. Our kitchen is gorgeous, and we will happily hire A2Z again for any future remodeling in our home.

Vinconstruction is the company I can highly recommend to anyone. Their proffesionalism, and communication to details are awesome. This company is still on my top list for any work at our church facility located in downtown Oakland. They have done so much including remodeling out church kitchen which looks amazing. I have hired this company to do a lot of work at my property just after seeing what they did at the church. They work 7 days with no day off just to make sure to meet the completion time. They work good with customer for approaching the better deal of their dream projects.

The servicemen were all gentleman, and helpful, explaining everything and creating a follow up plan for the near future. Pricing is very fair, especially for the high-quality and quick service in comparison with other services I've used in the past for the 12 years of being a homeowner in the Bay Area. They have been my go to for the last six years, and have never disappointed.
I’ve been through 3 different handyman services in the past year; Best Value is the only one of those three services I will be calling back for future work. Manny and Frank were both prompt, professional and honest. Their foreman Edgar and his crew work fast and diligently, leaving me with a new garage wall that will last 100 years. They did all of this without leaving a speck of dust behind, and even touched up the exterior paint of the garage.

DIG installed our graywater system and rainwater tanks. Throughout, Mano, Niko, and others have been fantastically patient, calm and competent. They've also gone over and beyond with followup help when we've needed it. We couldn't recommend them more highly.
Jesse and ethos built did an awesome job with our custom built in banquette seating. The workmanship is high and they did the job at a very reasonable rate. We had some challenges around schedules and timing but all in all I would definitely recommend ethos built if you're looking for any sort of carpentry / cabinet work.
I received a grant through Earthquake Brace and Bolt for a seismic retrofit. When I contacted E&F Construction, Tony got back to me almost immediately, walked me through the process, answered all my questions, and recommended an engineer to draw up the plans.
Then, when I messed up my deadline and needed to get an estimate on short notice, Tony was there for me again. He took time out of his busy schedule to get me what I needed before my deadline, taking a ton of stress of my shoulders and saving the day.
I would highly recommend this business to anyone in need of a seismic retrofit (and in general as well).
Working with Chuck was a great experience. As an owner of a historic Victorian, any repair work is always an adventure. Chuck ensured we understood each step as we addressed structural rot and replaced exterior siding that had to be matched because our home is on the city's historic registry. Chuck kept the job on track and exceeded our expectations. We would absolutely work with Chuck again.
We reached out to Eric for a quote and he was quick to respond and gave answers to all of my questions. In the end we choose to not use concrete for our driveway project, so we did not hire him and his team. I think they would have done a great job, we just went in a different direction.

A man with a vision! Hiring Keith Stover, (Nature's Design), to beautify the front area of my house was an amazing experience. He already works on my mom's garden, which is breathtakingly beautiful, and for my birthday she split the cost with me to have him work his magic at my house. I know very little about such things so I really trusted him and his vision, and I am so grateful. He was very attentive to my tastes and listen to my ideas. He often gave me options to choose which I liked best. Very quickly we were on the same page about all of the little things that would make me happy.
When the first estimate was a little higher than my budget, he pared it down and we focused on the most important areas - and he was still able to make it totally beautiful.
Keith was a pleasure. He has a quiet demeanor. He and his assistant were super respectful and it was clear right away that they really care about doing everything right. He stuck to the schedule, he worked super hard and it was immediately evident that he is someone who is very proud of his work, regardless of the size of the project.
I'm actually saving money so I can hire him again to add some of the things that were outside the scope of last year's project.
They installed an irrigation system and showed me how to program the timer, but honestly I haven't had to touch it. It just works. Everything grew. Everything still looks healthy and gorgeous. It's really the gift that keeps on giving. I'm really proud of my garden, and it really is the result of Keith's vision, Keith's design and Keith's implementation. He's SO GOOD! You should call him and get on his schedule because I imagine he's pretty busy making magic happen :-)

We used Lazar Landscaping to re-landscape our entire yard — front, back, sides, hardscape, plants, irrigation, and lighting. We were happy with the planning, implementation, communication, and billing process. The project finished on schedule and there were only one or two days when someone wasn’t on-site working on the project. We would use them again, but have no yard left to landscape.
We needed help fixing our sprinklers that suddenly stopped working. John responded quickly and set up some time to come over the next day. He was on time, very knowledgeable and was able to get things fixed and up and running in no time. Thanks John!

We are so happy we found Four Dimensions Landscape Company and that they were willing to take on our very steep and challenging hillside project. Shout out to Chris Garcia who worked closely with us through every step in the process - an extremely knowledgeable, professional, reliable, and considerate project manager. The three-man crew was great and remained positive throughout the difficult steep hill work. We wanted all native plantings, especially those that would attract birds. Four Dimensions fully knows our native plants and bird-friendly ones as well, and delivered big time and within our budget. We are very grateful for 4D! Highest possible recommendation.
We worked with Lara and Bountiful Botanicals on a project to install a patio, turf and landscaped areas in our yard after removing our pool. We could not have been more happier with the result! The space looks amazing, and we finally have a flat and visually appealing place to be outdoors with our kids!
Lara and her team were amazing to work with. We chose Lara over other companies because we needed someone with a good eye and judgment to work through all the design details. Lara was onsite every morning with her crew, and we communicated regularly throughout the project to make all the design decisions. I don't think it would have turned out this well if we had worked with someone else.

I can trust that they will interpret what I ask of them and tell me if it can be done, or if not advisable they provide an explanation. Very tidy, respectful and polite service. I really appreciate their expertise. They are careful and take their time doing a great job. They do not disappoint!
Gary and his crew did a wonderful job pruning our two sequoias on our property line. After the pruning was completed, all the new cuttings and old dead fall were efficiently removed and the yard raked clean leaving it emaculate. The whole process from the initial estimate to completion of the service could not have gone smoother. I couldn't be happier with the results and how the trees and yard turned out. I will definitely use Sequoia Tree Service again.

I just LOVE this dental office. I was introduced to Dr. Victor Chaney in December of 1979, I have been a patient ever since. My children all grew up with Dr. Chaney. I go in every 6 months. I can’t imagine going anywhere else. Now we have Dr. Alex who joined the practice. What a wonderful addition. Both Dr. Vic and Dr. Alex are so personable and caring. All their work is professionally done with a gentle touch. The patient’s comfort is always their number one concern. All the office members are so friendly and helpful. I recommend this office to everyone.
My husband & I really love the Dentist here. Its been so long since we came across someone who truly loves his profession and cares about the kiddos. Hes also very informative in a nice way not condescending or putting you down as a parent kind of way. Please keep doing what you do we need more compassionate medical workers out here!

I was not comfortable going to the dentist because I knew my mouth needed work. When I got there I found out just how much, and that was scary. I initially had deep scaling done but to my surprise I was not afraid to return. That is because Dr. Lance, his wife and staff are a friendly ,true, professional team. It was clear to me that Dr. Lance knew what he was doing and that relieved my anxiety. My biggest fear was getting silver fillings removed. There is so much information out there about mercury poisioning. When I expressed my concerns I was given complete information and any questions I had were answered. You're told just how much everything costs, so there are no surprises and with all the work that was done, I was very pleased that my co pay was affordable. I ended up with a pleasant surprise. I had a few fillings done and the results were that those teeth are beautiful. I wish the rest of my teeth looked that nice. Dr. Lance is a true artist. Clean office, current technology, friendly people, dentists and technicians that are on top of their game - if you need dental care, Lakeshore Family Dentistry is the place to go. Best chiropractic office in Oakland. Some of us need ongoing chiropractic care to manage; and Dr. Melissa Crago has been it for me. I needed immediate care one Saturday and stumbled on her office being open, best thing that happened. I've also seen Dr. Ryan and I feel extremely taken care of by both practictioners. The office support is amazing and holistic; Dr. Crago has set me up w/ referrals and been supportive with pain management. Great hours, always supportive.
Dr. Sandy is a lifesaver. My back was killing me for a good six months. After my first visit with Sandy, my pain went from a consistent 8 or 9, to an occasional 1 or 2. He spent more time with me than most chiropractors, doing soft tissue work in addition to adjustments. He's warm and relatable. I've already recommended him to 3 friends!

After several months of consistent NS sessions I developed a much greater access to a clear, calm energy in my daily life. Much of my anxiety, social or other, seems to have dissipated for the most part. I experience a quicker return to center from difficult or uncomfortable thoughts, emotions, and interactions. I am able to let things go with greater ease. My posture is more comfortable and many tensions and pain in my body are greatly or completely reduced. The space itself is clean, calm, and relaxing. I tweaked something in my elbow 3 months ago and figured I would let my body heal it naturally. While it did feel a little better over time I could tell something was still off. I visited Martinet Chiropractic yesterday and the owner worked on it for about 60 seconds. Not only did I feel immediate relief, but probably within 60 minutes of my visit the pain had gone from a 4 to a 2. Less than 24 hours later I am almost pain free and have full range again. While a bit pricier than other Chiropractors I have gone to in the past, you really do get results with Martinet. To me, that is worth paying more for. I highly recommend anyone needing pain relief schedule a visit.

Doctor Dom and everyone here are wonderful. I had incredible pain in my lower back that made it difficult to walk and even drive. The methods used are gentle, with no twisting or cracking. Dr. Dom continuously checks in to make sure her adjustments feel good, tolerable, or painful so you aren't wondering if the adjustment is supposed to feel a certain way.
Zora, at the front desk, is extremely helpful and friendly. She knows all the patients by name and welcomes everyone equally.

The staff at Thornhill pet hospital is the best!! Theres something really special about this place. Dr.Yang and Alicia, take great pride in the work that they do. They keep me informed of the care they give to my dogs, and i totally trust their judgement and decisions. They strangely have a special connection with the animals, which makes their care that much better. Ive taken all my dogs to Thornhill pet hospital and wouldnt even consider any other veterinarian.
My dog is very reactive to vet visits, so I wanted to try a house call to make it a little easier for her. Dr. Reid and Kelsea were such an amazing team who worked together to make me and my dog feel comfortable. They talked me through each step and how I could help my dog for future vet visits. I was even able to get the medication I needed right at the visit. I will absolutely be using EBVHC for anything we need in future. Thank you Dr. Reid and Kelsea!
My kitty, Calypso, always had wonderful care with everyone at Claremont. The front desk staff is efficient and pleasant. The techs are caring and gracious. The doctors who saw Calypso, Leggeri and McDonald, are informative, thorough and communicative. However, my most recent need was euthanizing my dear sweet friend. It followed a month of exploration into what was wrong, referring me to an outside vet for confirmation and discussion so that I was able to make the decision to go the palliative care/end of life route that was best for Calypso. When the time came to let Calypso go, the Claremont front desk was so kind. The tech was so gentle. Dr. McDonald was professional yet understanding, tender and compassionate, letting me know exactly what she was about to do on each step. The empathy from all was not sappy but distinct. I was given as much private time with Calypso as I needed during the various stages of the process. It was awful to lose my beloved sweetheart but I couldn't have asked for a better team to help me help Calypso move onto her next journey. From the bottom of my heart, I cannot thank you all enough.
I love the ease of the experience. Once you have an online account with the clinic it is so easy to book appointments and keep track of all your pet's needs. The staff are super friendly and make me feel welcome. The vet listens to concerns and explains everything clearly.
I had a minor concern for my dog, a large rash and hitching/scratching. The receptionist could not book an appointment when I visited the hospital, but she gave me advice and I was able to book an appointment the next day once they were done with their triage for the day. The doctor addressed both the current concern for my dog but also discussed his health in general and his current medications since he is an older dog with a heart murmur. The staff is attentive, proactive and kind.
Definitely five stars from us. Taking your fur baby for a surgery is never fun. Our Roxy needed TPLO surgery after hurting both back knees. Our Dr. was very genuine when giving us options during the consultation. Also, the staff was very professional and comforting. I hope not to return and if I do, I have the confidence my fur baby will be treated with comfort.
Dr. Dorsey and Dr. Hart are the nicest, kindest, most professional veterinarians. They have nursed and helped me through four cats. I love their office staff. They try to get appointments for any of my fur babies, and when one of them passed away, the office gave a donation to a cat illness research. I can't say enough about how much I appreciate all their service and care for my pets. They are so reassuring and when the time comes for… Again, they are empathetic and sympathetic.
I got my dog spayed here recently and was incredibly impressed by how well run this place was. They communicated all the instructions very clearly ahead of time, so I knew exactly what to expect. The surgery went perfectly, my dog recovered very quickly and needed no follow-ups. You don’t get any personalized care, but that’s to be expected. I was hesitant to use a clinic for this procedure, but was pleasantly surprised by the facility and the staff. I’d definitely recommend to anyone looking for a more affordable way to spay/neuter their pet. Thank you so much!

Nice place. Professional people. Great techs. Appointments taken on time. Got dental surgery for my guy on quite a short notice. Was afraid he could not be seen due to a lack of recent vaccines, and records since he had only been to moving clinics and a cheaper unreliable vet, but it was no issue! He’s a bit difficult and still handled him great. Definitely the vet we will be sticking with. More on the pricey side but nothing you wouldn’t expect from a good vet.
We’ve taken two dogs here over the years, some with odd diagnoses, and all have been treated accurately. We can even get refills of some medications from reception without bringing the dog in (again) and waiting, which saves the price of a visit (which is a reasonable price for a visit). Dr. Tan is an old school practitioner and he will see any person and animal that walks through the door - first come, first served, hours between 10am-2pm. Definitely recommend Dr. Tan’s practice and dread the day he decides to retire!

My wife and I have a Norwegian forest cat with super long fur, so from time to time, she develops mats in her fur that we are not able to easily comb out. When her fur gets to this point, we know its time to call for help, as we're not comfortable taking scissors to our cat's fur. We stumbled upon Tao's business on Yelp and are very happy she was able to come over to our home for the grooming service. Not having to transport our cat saved us a ton of trouble, so I'm very thankful for that, as our cat has a lot of anxiety when it comes to car rides. When Tao arrived, she set up her grooming tools on our kitchen counter next to our sink and was able to get right to work once we brought our cat over. During the grooming session, we helped Tao hold down our cat while she carefully cut out the matted sections of fur with a pair of scissors. Tao did a great job trimming our cat's nails as well. Overall, it was a very pleasant and smooth experience and I would definitely recommend Tao's services if you're looking for cat grooming services.
Vanessa is amazing. I brought my shih tzu to her for years and have also brought her a highly anxious foster dog. She's communicative, patient, kind, and very thorough. She treats dogs with a great amount of love and respect. I've referred a few friends to Vanessa who also love her and swear by her. She's high in demand, therefore you'll need to schedule your pet's grooming out a few weeks, so plan accordingly!
Left Coast is an absolutely amazing yoga studio! Most classes are warmed to around 82; initially I wasn’t sure if I’d enjoy this but I love it. Instructors are warm and friendly, giving clear cues on how to get into the poses with the right alignment, and without hurting yourself. My favorite teachers at this location are Deb and Malka - Deb teaches slower Alignment Flow and Flow + Restore classes and Malka teaches Power Yoga, which is more of an energetic vinyasa flow. Also love some of the newer teachers, like Zach and Malika. Definitely check it out! They have a great new student special - first month of unlimited classes for $75.
I have been with Mountain Yoga for a year and I love it! I did a wide sampling of studios from Walnut Creek to Oakland and landed on Mountain Yoga. Basically, it felt most worth my time and money. I learn so many different things from all the teachers that I do not mind driving from Moraga to Oakland 2 to 3 times per week.
I was attending a conference at the Oakland Convention Center and took Amelia's morning yoga class offered on floor 21 of the Marriott. It was a stunning view and Amelia was a great teacher. I really liked the way she spoke about which move was coming next and I felt very comfortable even as a beginner. Highly recommend hiring her if you have an event.
This place is a true treasure of wisdom. I have been doing moment for 30+ years yoga, tai chi, martial arts. Working as a professional and a teacher for 20 of those years. JinSung was showing me things that are fundamental to movement and alignment that I have never seen or heard of. In three class I have had breakthroughs that I didn’t know where possible on a physical and emotional level with relationship to my body and moment. I would also like to add my friend who has no yoga experience and does not work out loved the class as well. Please do your self a solid and take a beginner level 1-2 class with JinSung and come with an open mind and heart and see what happens.
Susan Urqhart-Brown is a fine human being and teacher. She has all the great yoga teacher components in place: compassion, knowledge, spirituality, kindness, devotion, and patience. I highly recommend Susan’s Anjori Yoga classes!

My initial evaluation by Dr Feng was very enlightening, with a bonus of chronic pain relief. I’ve been treated for over a decade by a ND, who has helped me significantly. However, I am traveling across the country again to see Dr Feng. He’s given me hope that I can heal myself.
First time taking a hot yoga class. I enjoyed my experience, easy instructions and very welcoming. Lydia is an awesome teacher. I highly recommend her class!

Used a class pass at this hot yoga studio with my daughter and enjoyed the class. Be warned that it is hot yoga so not for the feint of heart. The class was 90 minutes long so the extra time made it harder. I admit that during the last 1/2 hour, I was itching to leave. Thankfully that's when the resting poses come in. The heat does add to the workout and heats up your body. I need to get more acclimated to the temp! Lots of fun, I can see why folks enjoy it!
Ive been taking Pilates once a week for almost 2 years now at Reactive Movement. It’s been an excellent experience and I definitely feel stronger, more aligned and balanced. The instructors are great and a special shout out to Jaclyn who gives amazing instruction and always changes up our weekly class and keeps it interesting. I always feel mentally and physically better after my class.I also love the vibe at the studio, very mellow and all the equipment is modern, kept clean and well maintained.
I have been working with Sarah at Precision Point Pilates for about 3 weeks now, twice a week. A short period of time but already I know I hit the jackpot of Pilates trainers! Not only does Sarah know which exercises I need, she also knows anatomy and can explain the placement of bones and muscles and how they work together. This helps me visualize what I am doing and why. This is especially important for me as I am still recovering from a shoulder joint replacement surgery.I didn't think I could ever take reformer palates again after my surgery, but Sarah proved me wrong. I look forward to getting stronger as I continue my training so I can keep up with my very active adorable grandchildren!

I have been struggling with back pain since my early twenties (I'm in my 50s now). Over the years, my whole body has tightened so much that I could foresee that my mobility would no doubt be impacted at some point. I recently connected with Akasha and over the course of full series of structural integration sessions, she has helped me find space in my body. She is very intuitive and at one point in our series, she stopped, and we both knew that something wasn't working. We discussed my body and realized that we needed to change course slightly to accommodate how incredibly tight my body was. I loved this interaction as it changed the course of the rest of the sessions, and I felt like Akasha and I forged a partnership allowing me to feel very engaged in my healing process. Akasha also turned me on to breathing practice that has been very helpful. As with many things in life, there is not a one stop shop anywhere, but I am incredibly grateful to have found Akasha and intend to have her and her practice as part of my regular practice of taking care of my body. She also plays the best music and I often find myself going into an extreme state of relaxation. I can't put my finger on it - but it is all about Akasha's work and the lovely space in which she works. She is phenomenal!

Ed has been incredibly helpful for addressing issues on my posterior chain. His knowledge and experience has opened my eyes for someone who’s never received massage therapy treatment prior to meeting him.Some context - I grew up as a year-round competitive swimmer throughout my life that later transitioned to weigh lifting 4-5 times a week. I developed a lot of tension and stiffness in my hamstrings, lower back, neck, and traps. After my first session with Ed, I can already feel an incredible difference with my muscles loosened up and pain alleviated.He was professional the entire process. Before ironing me out, he gave me an assessment and asked of any particular pain and discomfort. His approach to understanding my daily routine, exercise, and history of injury only further helped to treat my body.During the massage therapy, Ed made sure I was well within my pain tolerance without sacrificing my need for deep tissue treatment. That was a huge plus for me. He also made sure to not only explain what he was treating and why, but also educated me on how I can prevent my posterior chain stiffness.A humble, knowledgeable, and professional guy who will get the job done. I’m definitely looking forward to future treatments and I know that these sessions will directly translate to my overall health and well-being.

I saw Ronit during my 35th week of pregnancy while baby was breech. Her relaxing massage, combined with Spinning Baby techniques, released so much tension in my body. I believe this made room for the baby, and I found out during my 36 week ultrasound that the baby was no longer breech! I am thankful for her knowledge and bodywork and hope to visit her again soon.
My experience at Renew Physical Therapy was fantastic, and having “graduated” from my visits a month ago, it’s clear to me that my back problems have subdued and are in the most controlled state they’ve been in years.
I was paired with Josh who I trusted almost immediately, and after a few sessions it was clear he was a good match for me and great PT in general. He was able to be almost casual or informal, while being professional at the same time. He took the time to get to know me and my issues, and his knowledge about the subject was evident. I was impressed and will be forever thankful.
The facility administrators were also great. I incorrectly documented one of my appointments and ended up accidentally no-showing, but instead of getting annoyed or charging a fee, they worked with me to reschedule quickly and efficiently. They were kind and personable, and I also really liked how quickly they responded to text messages.
It may not seem like a big deal but it was also convenient that there were always parking options outside too.
I would strongly recommend this business. And while I hope I don’t have a reason to go back, it’s comforting knowing they’re close by.
I worked with Emily for over five to six months to rehab my forearm, which I broke during a bouldering fall. Emily was a delight to work with. She's extremely knowledgeable, explaining why I had certain sensations and pains based on my body's physiology. I also found the exercises effective. I have progressed well in range of motion, strength, and pain reduction. I'm climbing and doing yoga again, in a way that seemed impossible when when started. I highly recommend Emily!

On the very strong recommendation of another PT who had moved out of the area, I went to see Steve Ryan for reverse total shoulder replacement post-op physical therapy. Steve is simply the best, most knowledgeable, competent, straightforward, compassionate, patient and organized physical therapist I have ever worked with. The written instructions and (excellent) videos for the prescribed PT exercises are available the day of or 1 day after your appointment. He is very organized and prompt so appointments are always on time. I am 79 years old and very active for my age. Steve guided me through a major glitch in my surgical recovery and I am now fully back to all my physical activities. I'm sure I couldn't have done this without his professional mentorship. Strongly and without hesitation thank and recommend Dr. Stephen Ryan for physical therapy.

I have been to two other highly rated fertility acupuncture specialists in the east bay and I can easily say Shirliey is by far the best. I started seeing her a year and a half ago when I had a failed embryo transfer and my spirits were low. Her empathy, kindness, and grace allowed me to heal in a way that helped my mind and body to be in a much better place. Not with any type of Chinese herbs or magical solutions but with better eating, daily habits, and with her care I was able to have an incredibly successful retrieval followed by a successful transfer. I started coming here for TCM health care every week a couple months ago and have been seen by Jen and Chris so far. I am blown away by their level of professionalism and expertise. I've seen at least a dozen acupuncturists over the years, but never have I been to a practice like this where quality is consistent. I saw Camille for a specific issue and received an initial treatment including massage and acupuncture. Not only did the treatment work but it relieved my symptoms for a few years! I have gone back for general upkeep and relaxation and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend her do general wellness and targeted issues.
I was having random nerve pain all throughout my hands due to trimming pot for years. 2-3 weeks later after one session it completely went away. I've tried to be cheap and go to other acupuncturists and its a waste of time. I've been back for back pain and for my forearm from playing guitar. Also, sometimes you leave in more pain that will last for a few hours but after a couple weeks its like nothing ever happened. I would fly across the country to see him. Hes a straight up healer. I tell everybody I know about him.
As an athlete and fitness/yoga professional for almost 30 years, acupuncture has always played a crucial role in my recovery, injury prevention, and treatment. I found Ross Acupuncture a little over a year ago, and it has been an absolute game-changer!! Jen is incredibly knowledgeable and has helped relieve countless nagging and acute issues. I have hypermobile ligaments/tendons, flat feet, and I put in between 10-20+ hours of training a week, so I put a TON of wear and tear (and stress!) on my body. I am also super prone to things like plantar fasciitis as a flat-footed runner and Jen has been a lifesaver on more than many occasions when things flare up. She has also been able to get to the root of some of the injuries I've had off and on for a long time. Full transparency: treatment may not be the most comfortable all the time. Sometimes you might not feel it, sometimes it may be rather intense -- especially if you're coming for injury/pain. But, if you're an athlete (or even just active) and want to return to training, it is beyond worth it when your issues are resolved within just a few treatments (or sometimes in one session!) She often does stim on the needles which is my absolute favorite part. I find that this method to yield the best results for me. Tbh, I can't say enough good things about this clinic or Jen! I recommend her to my students and friends when they have issues come up. Side note: I have also done the facial acupuncture with Renee and recommend that as well! That's definitely a much more relaxing experience . If you're looking for an acupuncturist who can really dive deep into whatever aches and pains brought you to inquire about acupuncture, you've found the right place!

I have seen many acupuncturists and was about to give up, but thought I'd take one last try and see Hong. Boy was I glad! Hong is a true professional and integrates nutrition, and other aspects of my health as he sets out his treatment plan for the day. I was still a bit skeptical on my first visit till about 30 minutes in. My condition involves pain and weakness of my leg. He set most of the pins and asked if there was still pain when he moved my leg. There was still pain, so he said ah ha! Then moved to the other side of my body and carefully placed another single pin into my left hand. Then moved my leg again and there was no pain whatsoever! I was flabbergasted at his procession and the immediate release of pain. I've been seeing him for a few months now with great improvement in pain reduction and mobility. As a 33 year old who had never driven before, I was very very anxious, but learning how to drive from Miss Mona and Christian eased a lot of my apprehensions away. They are very hands-on in their approach; each lesson they take lasts for 2 hours and I was behind the wheel from the very first one!
Both instructors know what they’re doing, and they’re really good at their jobs. Since you’re spending 2 long hours in the car with someone, I found it immensely helpful that both Miss Mona and Christian are also interesting people who I had good fun talking to!
I was so grateful to them for training me well enough to pass my behind the wheel drivers test on the very first try - to prepare for it I also got to practice with the instructors around the DMV which helped me gain confidence for the real test.
I cannot recommend this driving school enough - they were nothing short of sterling in the services delivered and they made learning a new skill fun and memorable for me! Thank you SO much Miss Mona and Christian, you all are the best!

He goes above and beyond to teach the small but crucial details that many people overlook during their road test. What sets Joseph apart is his dedication to ensuring you're fully prepared--he takes you through the area around the DMV so you're familiar with the test route, which significantly boosts your confidence. Joseph offers his lessons at rates far more affordable than typical driving schools, without compromising on quality. If you choose to use his car for the road test, he even lets you practice in the DMV area right before your test, ensuring you're comfortable with both the car and the environment. And yes, this too is offered at a much lower cost compared to other schools. Beyond his exceptional teaching skills, Joseph is incredibly kind, considerate, and a pleasure to talk to. I couldn't recommend him more highly!

Went here to get my B class License for work. It was a great experience and learn a lot from Paul the Instructor. He was chill and help me learn all the right components for my in cabin inspections. The only thing I have against was I got lost the first time getting to school. The GPS sent me to some neighborhood. It's not the school fault and that why I still gave it 5 star review.
Vincent is a patient teacher, and helped me get comfortable behind the wheel. Highly recommend
