I have been a customer of Dead River Company for many years. Yes, it is a great company that offers so many essential services. But what makes a company amazing is the "real people" who work there. The TEAM at Dead River in Ellsworth is best of the best. Why, is because they genuinely care about real people. I am always greeted with smiles and asked how I am. They amplify what face to face contact really means. Today so many businesses focus on screens to tell them what to do. Not the case at Dead River... they focus on the presence of the customer. Charles was our tow truck driver. Immediately from the jump he went above and beyond. He helped unload our vehicle and made sure we were safe to get ourselves home. He was professional, efficient, and kind. King behavior. Thank you Charles! You saved the day and we are grateful. He turned this rainy gloomy day around.

We also had an excellent experience with D&G Landscaping. Very professional group. Strong communications throughout the project ($15k backyard remodel). They left our property completely clean after each day of work instead of waiting until the end. They brought in two crews to speed the project along. Highly recommended.

Alex’s space is very clean and comforting, but most of all she is very knowledgeable!

Jim designed and built a fireplace mantle for us earlier this year. It is stunning, beautiful,breathtaking....I search for the best superlative to describe it. It's in our family room so I walk by it many times a day and it always makes me feel good about my house. Jim is a master craftsman and a perfectionist (plus he is a nice guy). He took some ideas my wife brought to him and turned them into more than we could have hoped for. He listens and he also takes the time to understand and draw on his years of experience to make suggestions and they are always good ones. Jim is not cheap or fast, he doesn't cut corners so if you are looking for that go somewhere else - but if you want woodworking that rises to the level of art and has enduring value (and will seem like an incredible value as time goes by), Jim is the guy to go to. He's also done some smaller projects for us those have turned out really well too. He is the kind of craftsman that makes you think 'what else can I find to ask him to do' because of the quality and value that he brings to his work.

I would like to thank Randy and his crew for coming out to replace my gutters. It was an exceptional experience with the workmanship of his team from start to finish. They went above and beyond my expectations on how the end result looked once the new gutters were installed. Our 3-year-old son is autistic, and haircuts have always been an extremely difficult experience for him. As parents, we’ve gone into haircuts feeling anxious and worried, never knowing how he was going to react or whether we would even be able to get through the haircut. We decided to try Sharkey's, and from the moment we walked in, we knew we were in good hands. We explained to Autumn our son’s needs, our concerns, and what we had experienced in the past. Autumn didn’t just listen to us—she genuinely took the time to understand. She was incredibly patient, gentle, and thoughtful with every single step of the haircut. Watching our son tolerate his haircut so well was honestly emotional for us. It was the first time we had ever seen him get through a haircut with that level of comfort, and we walked out of Sharkey's feeling so incredibly happy and relieved. Something that has always been a source of stress for our family suddenly felt like something we could actually look forward to.
