“Earlier this year my heating and AC unit stopped working. I originally called Redding heating and air and was charged $99 for the consult only to be told my unit was not repairable and that my only option was to buy a new one (quoted at $12,000). I called Cory Burns at Shasta Heating and Air for a second opinion on a Thursday, he was out two days later on Saturday to look at it and had it completely repaired and running better than before within a couple days for $1000. My husband and I couldn't have been happier with the whole experience and how nice the whole crew was, it's now almost a year later and my unit is still running great with no issues! “The whole crew at Mike's is amazing. We got a whole new unit in May 2024 to replace our 30 yo unit. It was a great price , installed quickly and professionally, and works amazing. I knew it needed replacement when I moved in 8 years ago, but coaxed it along (with Mike's techs help) until I could afford a new one. I'm in REU and even though my house is now cooler and I feel like I use the AC more, my electric bill has still been much more manageable. The old unit I was told every year when serviced, by all different companies i had tried, pulled a lot of power. Jim, the owner, diagnosed my air conditioning issue spot on and replaced a very leaky evaporator coil and properly recharged the system with the the right refrigerant. His charges were reasonable and thousands of dollars less than other flawed estimates from other HVAC services who wanted to totally or partially replace the AC system. “Visiting my 90 year old aunt and her heating went out. Called Phil Carpenter's and was told they could have someone out the next morning first thing. When I explained it was for an elderly homeowner, Brandon said he would see what he could do. Called back a few hours later and said he could have a tech swing by. Took Andrew a bit to isolate the intermittent problem but found a couple of things that were not running optimally. Explained everything very well and replaced the parts and she's been warm since. They would tinker with it a little so it would sort of work for a while. This year, the fan quit completely. I mentioned to my neighbor about the problem I had been having.
