First and foremost, the gym is stunning and the darker interior creates a safe, calm, and intimate vibe. I love all of the machines and equipment they offer and the bathrooms are perfectly lit and always clean.
The group classes are very fun and challenging. The format is easy to follow and they have coaches walking around the room to ensure our form is good. Each workout can be modified so don't be intimidated if you're a beginner! The workouts are innovative and effective. Make sure to always sign up when they have a challenge workout! It will humble you.
THE STAFF IS AMAZING. Love every single one of them and they are always so helpful when I need assistance. They're also fun to talk to and they love it when we loiter at the front desk ;)
The biggest takeaway is that Ark helped me overcome gym anxiety and limiting beliefs. With regular gym memberships, I would go in and work out with my AirPods and leave. At Ark, I get to meet awesome people so it feels more like a community. The group classes are transformative and educative because the coaches help me with my form and they challenge me to add more weight or reps because they know I have the capacity to do so.

The small group setting provides accountability, which has helped me stay committed. Even though drive to fitness center takes me 30+ minutes sometimes after work hour due to traffic, individualized attention makes it worth it. With the smaller class size, I receive personalized guidance on proper exercise form, which has really helped me build a consistent exercise habit. The staff are incredibly friendly, and it's nice to work out alongside others my age. The environment is welcoming and supportive--highly recommend if you're looking for a place to stay motivated and improve your fitness!“

I found Diane Carpenter's DC Fitness! My journey will continue, as I get stronger and healthier day by day. Diane is a dedicated trainer, who tailors the fitness routine- to the needs and ability of her clients. She is no nonsense hands-on trainer; demonstrating then observing and correcting as the workout progresses. Every session is a new experience but is always balanced with both cardio and resistance. No workout is the same-old-thing. She has state of the art fitness machines combined with many other fitness tools : bands, dumbells, bosu, weight balls, TRX, blocks.... and more. At DC Fitness you dont waste time walking a tredmill; you dig right in and do reps and sets and move from routine to routine. I love this place and the vibe. I love my personal challenges. I love my progress. I am including 2 pictures. One is at the start of my fitness journey and the other is me as I am now. And one more thing: everyone that works out here is welcoming and courteous. I think when you like yourself, you become a nicer person. Thanks to Diane, I feel my self worth improving.“

It's a really close knit community and that reminds me of being a part of a team, coming to practice a few times a week and feeling super accomplished afterwards (especially when you don't have to think about your workout). I really appreciate that the coaches learn everyone's names and make conversation before and after the work outs and if you're not there for a week they're reaching out to make sure everything is all good - accountability is so important! Would definitely recommend.“

Do it STAT. Tell your friends too. Mike spent way more time on "my full assessment" than several prior PT's. Then he explained WHAT was holding me back and STARTED ME ON A NEW PATH at once. This was so different - it WORKED and I made REAL PROGRESS. How about leaping from 1/4 mile walking to 3 or 4 MILES/DAY with a smile on my face? Sure, it took a few weeks and some work. Along the way, Mike would constantly ask, listen, watch, suggest, and have me TRY stuff I'd never done. He always asked "does THIS little change help John?" Adam and Zack are masters in their craft when it comes to training where they breakdown each workout. They take the time in the beginning to meet you where you're at whether you're completely new to lifting or a seasoned trainer yourself. This is a playground to develop yourself. That being said, be ready to work when you're there where they will push your limits so trust the process along with the goals you've set with them. Your future self will thank you for it.
I started training with Zack back in January where we went over the basics along with focusing on my process when it comes to workouts and nutrition. He gives you feedback incrementally where it's easy to incorporate in your daily routine. I'm always on the go with my work where it's difficult to have consistent structure where training here has helped me learn how to develop a mindset to adapt to those changes along with establishing a system that best works for me. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to start. It's never too late“

What started as a search to rehab a separated shoulder from surfing accident, turned into a comprehensive plan for achieving my health goals. When I met Paul I was stalled in my surfing journey despite surfing almost daily. At 53 old and new injuries and fatigue made surfing difficult. I struggled to get into better surfing shape. After an initial assessment Paul created a customized plan for my current state and future goals. Most importantly morning after morning 6am Paul was there for me. Great attitude and consistent encouragement. I can say he saw more in me than I was able to see in myself. He is patient, persistent, never condescending, and partners with you. My goal is to surf better as long as possible. Paul was careful to help me stay focused on that as a goal. His surf / balance / core strength workouts are unique and effective. His knowledge comes from 10+ years of experience training the highest level surfers. So he knows what to do. I don’t have to research tons of other people’s exercises, research nutrition, cobble my own regiment, and manually rotate that. Paul does all that for you, apnea, core, balance, pop ups.. while great for surfing, it is the best total body fitness program you can put yourself on whether you surf or not. They give an evaluation and initial trial run.. if you live near Costa Mesa it’s a no brainer to try it out. If you live further out he has virtual classes. Not many surf specific gyms in the world, and even fewer with a proven professional pedigree and surfers to back it up. Check SRF out… might change your life also.“

I want to start off by saying that Jake and Erica are the absolute best people. They both take great care of their clients and show personal interest to each of us. Jake has taken the time to show me and teach me different stretching techniques and workout exercises to improve my flexibility and reduce my chronic back pain. Thanks to his and Erica's stretching techniques, along with using the spinal decompression machine (BEST MACHINE EVER!) I now don't have anymore back pain . For years I've been going to multiple chiropractors and therapist but this is the first time where I actually feel and see the results. Thank you Jake and Erica for your personal care and support. I highly recommend going to them for everything body and exercise related. 10/10!“
