“I spent a few months contacting many vendors regarding an ADU. My mother in law has mobility challenges so this eliminated lots of the pre-fab units. Most of then aren’t “age in place” friendly - they have extremely small bathrooms and so forth. Because of this, I figured I should spend extra for a custom design to get exactly what is needed.I came across Acton after spending months interviewing many vendors. Also, having family in the construction business, I know that experience is very important. Anyone can do anything, but “is it done right”?After meeting Jen , my confidence went up. She asked the right questions and was completely transparent. She described the process and approximate timeline. The company would derisk the project by doing upfront studies of key things. As a project engineer, I would have done the same.After a month or so, we were trying decide between Acton and another company. We ended choosing Acton for responsiveness, “done it many times and we know the special rules”. and overall style of execution. In addition the flexibility of the team and they all seem to work well with each other was what helped make the decision.We are now done. It was definitely one of my “easier” projects (considering the size and scope). I know what I was getting and Acton delivered. Team (Ivan, Connor, Jen, Lynne..), was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Even the permit inspector liked working with them (can’t say the same for my solar contractors).“

“The Rise Group recently finished building a detached outdoor pergola for us with a full shingle California peak roof, pine tongue and groove ceiling, and redwood posts, privacy fence, and outdoor staircase. We are very pleased with the finished project.The construction took roughly four months, and prior to breaking ground Ryan and his engineering team were very helpful drafting and submitting the project's engineering plans for the required town and county approvals. Although completion of the project took longer than anticipated, we feel that every stage of the project received careful attention and we were eventually able to work out unexpected issues to our satisfaction. Ryan's framers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and painters did an excellent job and the end result shows the hard work and attention to detail that went into it. We would certainly recommend Ryan and his team for any similar engineering and build projects.“

“After weeks of collecting bids and getting frustrated with other contractors and their process, Howard was recommended to us by two different sources. He was quick to respond to our inquiry, and within a 30 minute discussion understood our vision and was able to add helpful suggestions to improve the plan. He has experience with Eichlers and understands their unique challenges. He gave a detailed bid and we quickly came to agreement on start date. His team showed up on time every day and thoroughly explained each day's plan. They left the job as tidy and clean as possible every evening. When questions arose, we were able to huddle quickly on our options (silver lining of working from home during Covid) and make decisions. When we added to the scope of the project, Howard was able to respond quickly with the cost and time requirements.As mentioned in other reviews, Gary is the secret weapon in this operation! He has an eye for detail and never takes shortcuts. He works as if he's building his own home. We used Ikea cabinets and countertops, and our home is on a concrete slab with radiant heating - all challenges that Gary and team took on without breaking a sweat! We had several unforeseen challenges due to our design choices, but Gary and Howard were able to come up with adjustments quickly. They consistently went above and beyond; working around the holidays, pivoting when schedules from other vendors (countertop) slipped, etc. We are thoroughly delighted with the work Lamcke and team did in our home. It was a pleasure doing business with them.“

“I originally called Rob (owner) to help me with my ceiling. There was a huge hole in it where a plumbing leak had popped up. Since we had the hole, we added canned lighting so our ceiling was a complete mess. Rob and Evan did a fabulous job! I then called them to help with fixing our dishwasher which had dislodged and our cupboards that had been pulled off. Again, they did an absolutely fantastic job. The best part is that with each call I was desperately in a hurry since we are putting our place on the market. Rob and Evan always responded extremely quickly and did everything they could to get us booked in their schedule as quickly as possible. Finally, these guys are just really great guys.
