“We needed a heater leak repair solved, and Chris soon detected the source of the problem. He then explained what needed to be done and began the repair after going to get the part replaced. He was respectful coming in and out of the house by using foot covers and completed the work very well.

“I was referred to Pro Temp of Illinois from a friend who knew Jamie, I had five quotes on replacing my HVAC and hot water heater due to being 20yrs old. Versus doing repairs, Jamie was professional and straight to the point. Didn’t ask about other quotes I had just ask what I was looking to do. When I told him all three units, he said please send me photos of your current units and spec charts. He sent me the quote the next morning and I was blown away not only with the price. The warranties as well and the actual brands. A Rheem water heater and Lennox HVAC, I scheduled the service and was done on the perfect day. Wasn’t hot at all and they completed the service same day within seven hours. I looked up all the brands quoted to me, and none came close to the quality of the Lennox and Rheem. Not only was the product better the price was $2800 less and 10 years parts & labor warranty and 20 years on the heat exchanger. Even the rep at the other company I was considering said it’s no way I can match that product or warranty. These units are whisper quiet, I had to turn down the hot water heater twice it’s so hot. I guess you don’t know your product is outdated until you get new ones. Pro Temp is top notch with us now.“

The installation team was efficient and completed the job to my satisfaction and then some. There was a need for custom ductwork which they did, compared to the old installation. “For years, I've battled with bedroom humidifiers because the air gets so dry in winter with the little April Air humidifiers attached that run through the furnaces in our house.I learned of a different kind of April Air - a Power Humidifier - that provides much more humidity to your home and called an HVAC place to ask about it. They said they couldn't install due to space limitations and instead recommended a much more expensive Steam humidifier. I was a little suspect of the recommendation, so I called Midtown Mechanical to get another opinion.First, they explained that while a Steam humidifier might do the job, it is very costly AND there is a lot of maintenance and expense in upkeep, which is an immediate "no" in my book.Second, they said that they can make the Power Humidifier fit, even though the space was small.Third, they explained that since humidity rises, much like heat, it would be beneficial to install one power humidifier for EACH furnace (two in total), which the other company never mentioned.We scheduled a few days out and the team came on time and they were very courteous. They spent hours at my house (due to the space limitations, it took some time!) and they installed two (one for each furnace).Their service was great. Their price was reasonable -- for TWO power humidifiers, they were only a slightly more expensive than the other company was for ONE power humidifier. And, the humidity is amazing. (And, I've called since to ask a question about humidity levels and they patiently helped me and said if i had any questions or issues, they would be happy to help.)I'd highly recommend these guys for any HVAC work you have.“
