Whenever I visit the bay area, I always get my lashed done at Dolly Effect. With my wedding being in the Bay Area, I knew I had to get my lashes done here. I went to the San Bruno location 3 days before my wedding and they were absolutely stunning. Because I told them I would have a make up artist for the wedding, they made sure to use a little extra glue so my lashes would look fantastic the day of. The service was exceptional as usual. I was offered blankets and they made sure I was comfortable during the entire session. I had a 1 week fill at the San Mateo location a little after my wedding so my lashes would look it's best for our honeymoon to Japan. I went from a Volume set to a mixed set so I could have lighter lashes. Again, the service was amazing and the front desk receptionist, Rachel, was super friendly. She listened to my requests for my next set and ensured the lash artist followed through. Also, the head and neck massage at the end of the service is to die for. With that, I highly recommend Dolly Effect to do your lashes. They did a wonderful job for my wedding and honeymoon. I trusted them with such a big life event and they did an amazing job.

I came in for the quick fix of one nail while working out of town but was due for a replacement Gel X set when I got back home. Absolutely wonderful! The customer service was nothing short of amazing! The staff was approachable and friendly. I had originally called and was given an appointment for the next week, but a few hours later I got a call back and they stated they had an opening for the next day with Irina. I took it and I am so happy that i did. She was patient with me as we tried to figure the best color and tone, since was very hesitant on what I wanted. After a little back and forth we finally got it right. I couldn't be happier. Great service, great customer service, they actually smile at their customers, and they are reasonable -not gouging like soooo many other salons.

Mahnaz is awesome! =) I've known her for a long time since she worked at a different salon nearby. I'm so proud that she has her own spot and is still in San Mateo. She's warm, friendly and fun to visit whenever I need a fresh haircut. She's great with fades and other male styles. I was impressed when she was able to give my partner a great haircut since he's African-American and he told me that not all stylists know how to handle his particular hair texture. Mahnaz has been doing this for a long time so you can expect expertise and someone with a lot of knowledge about hairstyles, products, etc. When I started having dandruff she was able to recommend an effective shampoo and conditioner. You can trust in Mahnaz! Rest assured, you'll be in good hands.

Santos is an artist and I am picky about my barber. I only drive to Santa Clara from Hayward if Santos is booked and I plan poorly to my old go to spot. I drive from Hayward to San Mateo typically on Sundays to get a fresh cut every two weeks. I am very happy with Santos and highly recommend him for your fades and cuts. He is my go to barber!

I loved the pictures of the ladies who Emily styled previously and was hoping that she would be able to accommodate me. I was able to get an immediate response from Emily. After asking a few questions, I was able to see her within 15 minutes. Emily knew exactly what to do. I requested a wash, cut and style for my special day. Electrolysis, is not a simple job; there is a lot more than zapping the hair than meets the eye. Gemma is not only quick and skilled, but knowledgeable and caring as well. I have been coming here for my facial hair removal for some time now and I can say that the patience she is unmatched. There have been many issues that have come up in my sessions of electrolysis, and working with Gemma has been amazing that she has helped address every single issue that comes up on taking care of my facial hair and skin. Having her around to help with everything has been a blessing on top of a blessing and I only wish for anyone who is looking for a session to be able to experience everything she has to offer.

I really like this place. I keep coming here every 3-6 months for a facial and I leave my skin feeling so soft and rejuvenated every time. Renee is great, the facials and neck massages are so relaxing.The only thing is that they don't speak great english there, so communicating with the staff is a bit tricky. They're not always available if you walk into the store, so I've had success by calling and making an appointment.I keep coming back here because the price point is so good, and I honestly haven't enjoyed facials anywhere else.
I've had maybe two expensive facials in my entire life... at least I thought I had. After a ton of research on yelp and through various sites, I decided on Halee based on reviews and prompt availability. Now I finally learned what a real facial is. Let's break this down by stars. Star #1: Scheduling: prompt, clear and concise communication. Was super easy scheduling an appointment. Star #2: Atmosphere. Quaint, light, relaxing and inviting. It's a medium sized room within a facility and everything was cute, sassy, organized, and super clean. Minimalistic and concise equipment that all looked modern and updated. Bed was extremely comfortable, heated, and there was a proper place to put your things. Sudden extreme comfort coming here. Naps are a risk factor. Star #3: flexibility. I didn't know exactly what I needed, but I was able to schedule 3 services: facial (of some kind. I was originally thinking microdermabrasion) lash lift, and teeth whitening (wasn't sure if I needed it). There was no charge in changing the services I ended up receiving. Star #4: knowledgable. Halee impressed me as soon as I arrived. She told me what to expect and when I admit I was naive to facials, skin care etc. she told me she would take a look at my skin and let me know what she thought. The way she explained everything made me realize the magnitude of how much there is to know about products, skin, reactions, results and more. I have never in my life been more fascinated about skin care and the depth of the cosmetology world. It's amazing. Star #5: results. Halee advised me not to do the microdermabrasion facial because my thin skin would react negatively and because my concerns of hyperpigmentation were mild. Instead she gave me a cleansing facial and in the end... my face looked waaaaay more even toned, clear, bright and vibrant. I felt I looked 5 years younger afterwards and my face felt so hydrated and healthy the remainder of the day. Even days later it feels great and I've received many compliments already. In general, people often tell me I look 10 years younger than I am, but now I really feel like I do which has been such a positive lift to my confidence. I literally did not know a facial could do that. Speaking of lifts, the lash lift is something I will 100% continue to do. Instantly larger more open and youthful eyes. I look forward to returning for my next one in a couple of months. As for the teeth whitening, Halee didn't recommend it. She said my teeth are fairly white from the products I use at home already so results from the treatments would probably be minimal. Which leads to the final star.. Star #6: Genuineness. I wish I could give a 6 star rating because Halee truly deserves it. She absolutely wants the best for her clients and will go above and beyond to care for them, advise them, and get to know them. I was (and still am) very naive to skin care, however Halee has helped me so much by pointing me to products (not upselling but actually making recommendations for my type of skin) and I am so appreciative to have an expert in skincare I can turn to. So so so grateful I met her and I look forward to working with her again and again. Thank you Halee!!!

A tranquil and inviting spa - tucked behind beautiful landscaping and a heritage oak tree, La Estetica is the only place I go for facials. Emilka is lovely, offers many options and explains them well. The facials are both relaxing and invigorating, which is a great combination. Emilka also introduced me to the Cosmedix product line. It is a bit pricey but only a tiny bit is needed and so it lasts a very long time. Go now and enjoy!

I like to get a massage every so often from a different place. I was hesitant to try her but gave it a shot. Started off rough as the lady charged me twice and had to wait a few minutes until another lady came to straighten it out. They did and I went to the room and got prepared for the massage. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The lady gave me a very thorough massage and I was happy. She worked my back well as I am very stiff from Parkinson’s. Was one of the best massages I have received in the last year. I recommend this place and will be back.
I had the pleasure of meeting Selenia while out running errands recently. I mentioned that I was looking for an esthetician for my son as he was experiencing severe acne. He was using different topicals from his dermatologist but it was not working and we were at the stage of considering Accutane, which I did not want him to have to do. Selenia listened closely, never revealing that she was an esthetician with over 26 years of experience. I thought she was just a friendly fellow shopper! After sharing she gently mentioned that she would be willing to have my son come in for an evaluation at no charge and give me her opinion. Three days later we went to Selenia's Skin Boutique at 7:00pm on a Monday. There was no rush and she created the space for my son to settle in and get comfortable. After her evaluation, she was confidence that she could help and felt that he could avoid using Accutane. My son's skin looked much better after the first facial. We returned two weeks later and she continued to work on the various kinds of congestion including what was inside of his ears. He is back for his third facial and everything is moving in the right direction! I feel confident that Selenia will help my son continue to resolve his acne, eliminate scaring and teaching him how to care for his skin, including when to see a professional. I am incredibly grateful for Selenia's Skin Boutique. Finally, I want to mention that the prices are very reasonable, hours extremely accommodating, and there is absolutely no rush. Selenia is a true gem. If your child is having issues with acne I highly recommend giving her a call.

I love massage therapy and as a preschool teacher of 16 years, rely on self care to keep me going. Dacy is by far the best therapist I’ve ever had! This was my third time back and this last massage included many firsts. First, I was so relaxed I almost fell asleep! I’ve never felt so relaxed. Second, no one has ever been able to touch/massage my feet. I am wayyyyy too ticklish and natural body movements kick in… literally. I can’t control my legs and feet and someone is bound to get hurt. Lastly, I was bit by a dog and have nerve damage from the injury. It is painful when touched certain ways. Not for Dacy, she was able to work the damaged tissue without pain and now I have more range of motion with that muscle tissue. Today was my third time getting my lashes done by Kiki, so this review is definitely overdue! I used to like the look of super long, black, full lashes, but more recently my style has changed to a much more natural look. I stopped getting my lashes done for a while, but decided a couple months ago to try them out again and was looking for someone who could accomplish the natural look I'm going for. I found Kiki online and looked through some pictures of her work and was very impressed. Every appointment I've been to with her has been very pleasant. She's very nice, listens really well and is SUPER FAST! Seriously, I've never met someone who can do a new set as quick as her. Today I switched the color of the lashes I got to a more neutral brown. I am so happy with them! They look like my lashes, but much better. Even my husband made a comment about how good they look lol. I highly recommend Kiki and I'm so happy I found her!
Sheila’s hydrafacials are my favorite. She is very knowledgeable and informative when it comes to skincare. I came in with a lot of acne on my face, and she recommended products for me and wrote me up a skincare routine. In 6 months, the texture of my face was much more smooth and the acne had cleared out. Whenever I visit the bay area, I always get my lashed done at Dolly Effect. With my wedding being in the Bay Area, I knew I had to get my lashes done here. I went to the San Bruno location 3 days before my wedding and they were absolutely stunning. Because I told them I would have a make up artist for the wedding, they made sure to use a little extra glue so my lashes would look fantastic the day of. The service was exceptional as usual. I was offered blankets and they made sure I was comfortable during the entire session. I had a 1 week fill at the San Mateo location a little after my wedding so my lashes would look it's best for our honeymoon to Japan. I went from a Volume set to a mixed set so I could have lighter lashes. Again, the service was amazing and the front desk receptionist, Rachel, was super friendly. She listened to my requests for my next set and ensured the lash artist followed through. Also, the head and neck massage at the end of the service is to die for. With that, I highly recommend Dolly Effect to do your lashes. They did a wonderful job for my wedding and honeymoon. I trusted them with such a big life event and they did an amazing job.

We have continued to have reliable, professional, and fantastic service with Hamzeh. He is our go to for plumbing needs. While watering the yard outside this morning, I realized that one of our outdoor faucets was having a large leak. In over half an hour it had filled a bucket up! I called Hamzeh and he arrived within an hour. He helped replace the faucet as well as made adjustments to another faucet that was unsecured. He clearly explained his process in his work and answered any questions we had. We appreciate him looking out for us! With my busy schedule at work, I am so grateful for having a professional make these changes as soon as possible. I had the Adary team install a NEMA 14-50 outlet in my garage to charge our new EV. When I first reached out, they quickly scheduled an estimate "visit" via Zoom meeting which was really efficient. I thought their price was fair, and their estimate process was much more thorough than the other two electricians I contacted. One provided a low-ball estimate that clearly didn't understand the scope of work or include permitting. The other said I needed to replace my entire panel and wanted nearly $10k. They got the permitting process done quickly, and were able to schedule our installation the very next week after the permit was approved. The workers were on-time, very professional and friendly. The quality of installation was excellent. They accommodated my schedule for the city inspection, and Nadav came out to meet the inspector and walk her through everything. It was a fantastic experience, and I'll be using Adary for all future electrical projects.
I had a Nema 14-30 outlet installed and I was very happy with the service and everything went smoothly. He was very fun to talk to and did a very clean job in a timely manner. The most important thing was he was not one of those folks who charge you 2-3x when they know you're getting the outlet for a Tesla. The price was the best by far among all the electricians I got quotes from. And considering the quality of work, I got great bang for the buck. The negative reviews seem more like misunderstandings and they're not about the quality of the work so I highly recommend him if you're looking for installing an outlet or an EV charger.

I started receiving treatment from Dr Elise when I was pregnant. I had been experiencing a lot of hip pain that was transferring to my knee to the point it was painful just to walk and I was working with a different chiropractor but not improving. Dr Elise came highly recommended to me and after only one session I was already back to walking pain-free. Pregnancy is a very vulnerable time and I trusted her 100% to take care of me and my baby. She uses a gentle yet highly effective approach. I developed sciatica, hip and lower back pain during my third trimester of pregnancy, which led me to discover Dr. Papi. I hadn't been to a chiropractor in 10+ years and was initially nervous about laying down on my stomach, but she had belly support pillows and was absolutely phenomenal at prenatal care. She uses the Webster technique and was able to also address things in my neck and round ligaments that I didn't even realize were out of alignment!Prior to seeing Dr. Papi, I was waking up every night in the middle of the night with throbbing pain and her adjustments helped reduce the pain overnight. Dan is terrific! A great person and a great doctor. I play a lot of sports so my body gets pretty banged up. When it does, my first call is always to Dan Fung. He's fixed my arm (tennis elbow), my leg (achilles tendon), and most recently my shoulder. He also makes you feel very relaxed about the treatment he gives. In short, he's the best of the best and I highly recommend him.
Dr Julian is a phenomenal chiropractor. I would not trust anyone else with my spine. He is very knowledgeable. He helped my four month year old son who had torticollis. It increased the movement in his neck. My son is now a thriving 7 year old athlete with no repercussions. Thank you Dr Julian!

We have been seeing Dr. Magnar for acupuncture at the clinic and are very happy with the care our dog has been receiving. His is a complex case and there is no magic pill, but the fact that he is always eager to go to and resistant to leaving the clinic after each session says a lot about the way he is treated there :)
Dr. Sutter & his staff are truly Godsent. Dr. Sutter is very kind, knowledgeable and thorough. He has been looking after our pets for quite some time now, and continues to amaze us with his skills. I have a pretty big pack at home, and they all are patients at this clinic. My kitten had a recent surgery with Dr. Sutter to have his injured eye removed. I felt very at ease knowing my little guy was in the best hands. I have another adult cat that has been Dr. Sutters patient for quite some time, and he always provides great care and recommendations during annual visits. Our two dogs also are quite nervous around people, but they absolutely love Dr. Sutter and his technicians. They are so loving and gentle to them, truly treating them as if they were their own pets. His staff is absolutely wonderful, and kind. All of my interactions with them have been positive, and supportive. I am so glad we found this clinic, and Dr. Sutter. I give them all my strongest recommendation, and appreciation for their wonderful work.
They're incredibly amazing. It's hard for me to express it in a review (I rarely ever write reviews), but I'll try my best.
1. They're incredibly knowledgeable and thorough. One very recent example was when they caught the early kidney disease in my cat! She didn't have any signs/symptoms, but her bloodwork showed otherwise. We (me and my cat) are so grateful to the doctor and the staff for all their help with her diagnosis.
2. The pricing is fair unlike other vets in the area. Before becoming a patient here, I took my cats to a different vet. There, the doctor made it pretty clear that he only cared about money. He would charge A LOT and also try to sell you on unnecessary procedures (e.g. use of anesthesia to just draw blood or get a urine sample). Here, they go over all treatment options and pricing with you and they don't recommend things unless they think it's necessary.
3. They actually care about the pets! Just seeing how they interact and handle all of the pets (either my own pets or the pets in the waiting room) makes it clear that everyone there loves working with them. I've been at a few vets where dr/staff interactions were just transactional and cold. Being warm and kind definitely brings a level of comfort to everyone (pets + pet parents) and helps to ease an already stressful situation (the vet visit).
My dog and I moved to San Mateo in Feb and we were able to get set up as a new patient at Aragon pretty quick. Every visit we’ve had has been so easy and nice. Every one who works there is so sweet to my nervous lil dog. We are so lucky to have this place to take care of her!!
When your dog is sick, you want a vet who cares and who answers the phone. Peninsula Ave. vet clinic has never failed us over the years. We have two dogs now, and both of them have gotten their shots and other needs here

We have been going to Crystal Springs Pet Hospital for the past 3 years. The staff is courteous and helpful. The clinic is well organized with good communication with us with reminder emails, billing, and request for feedback. We rarely wait more than 10 minutes to be seen and personnel are gentle and loving with the animal patients. I love that they are open during the week and on week-ends . I so am glad that we switched to this animal hospital because we can trust them and it shows professionalism on behalf of its office staff, techs, and doctors.
We brought our dog here for urgent care and found Dr. Sophia Papageorgiou and the entire staff to provide excellent care, timely communication, asked lots of questions to fully understand what was happening with our dog. She tooks lots of notes, performed appropriate tests, answered all our questions and understood our concerns. We were able to bring him home and are following her recommendations. This clinic was very focused on our pet's condition and was highly attentive to his needs. We will definitely go back and highly recommend this clinic.
My pup usually got really nervous going to the groomer, but she looked happy, relaxed and very pretty after being groomed at Lnimo. Linda and Derek took good care of my dog and the atmosphere is relaxing, with their shop dog hanging out too! High recommend!

Three weeks ago, I went Golden Eagle Spa to get one hour full body massage. This place is very clean and also room is very comfortable.They provide excellent service and also professional massage. My back felt so much better than before . I highly recommended this place. Will definitely come back.
Maren is one of the kindest and coolest people I’ve met, and she’s phenomenal at what she does. I always feel a difference in my levels of swelling and fatigue after going to her- and she picks up on small things that you might not have noticed otherwise too and clears that up for you. I always look forward to our sessions! If you’re having any issues with lymphatic drainage or buildup, she’s the legit one to go to.

My name is Linda and I've been coming to Anthony for years and every time I have a problem he fixes it I first started out with double tendinitis in both elbows and boy. Let me tell you he really knows how to fix that also went in there for other things for maintenance. And another thing I like is that he doesn't believe in the medicine or surgery which is wonderful and if he doesn't think he can help you he tells you he does not wanna waste your money. He is wonderful. I call him the man with the magic hands I would highly recommend Anthony.
Booked a 90 min appointment with a lot of muscle troubles, came out with all my knots untied. Works wonders. You fill in a form before your massage start, highlighting parts of the body you'd like them to emphasize on.
This is way overdue. I went to Bua Thai when it first opened years ago, under different owners. i think it's changed hands a couple of times since then. So this review is for the current services. I am full of gratitude for Bua Thai and Tammy especially for helping me so much. Over the years I've become quite the connoisseur of Thai massage. And I find Tammy very skilled and consistent. She has definitely helped me more than many rounds of PT. Swedish massage and oil does nothing for me. My tight muscles and fascia (and several repetitive-use injuries) mean I'm here for the real deal -- Traditional Thai. And Tammy brings it. Prefer more gentle? I'm sure she can provide your preference. Just let her know. As for the location itself, there is typically plentiful parking and easy access. In its inception, the place was well-designed in my opinion. You don't overhear other goings on. It's always peaceful and clean.

I haven't had a facial in years because last time I went and they did extractions, it hurt so bad! But my mom was visiting and wanted a facial, so I took her here. The place is nothing fancy -- it's actually kinda small -- but the service was great! The extractions didn't hurt at all and was totally painless; the esthetician said they have new technology now! This place was also cheaper than most places I found on Yelp, and had last-minute availability.

I was recommended by my doctor to see Shah for an injury to my cervical spine. I had a whiplash injury that caused me to lose the natural curve of the spine. Shah helped through gentle manipulations to get back that curve. He was very careful with the lack of strength I had in my neck and shoulders to give me exercises that would not cause further injury. He was really great at gently moving my neck to release tension in the muscles. I had seen a physical therapist before Shah, and I had gotten worse. Shah really helped me begin to recover. I had to stop seeing him because his office was far for me to drive. And driving would exacerbate my condition. But I would not be where I am now without his help!
This place is amazing! Anita Huang takes amazing care even right away from her first appointment. She has an expert eye and takes time to understand your needs before she starts anything. I've been a few times and she has helped resolve problems I had for months with other acupuncturists. I can't recommend her enough she is wonderful and patient and kind. She heals with empathy and respect

Dr. Chen, is the BEST acupuncture person I have had. She is generous with needles and time. She is Soft spoken kind and doesn't rush you. My neck pain has drastically improved I feel much better. She gives you the works, acupuncture a massage, cupping a heat lamp.. wow you will leave very satisfied with Dr. Chen.

I called this center maybe 3 months prior to my first appointment with a accupuncturist. When I called, the receptionist told me they were booked out for 3 months in advanced. However, since this place was nearby and I read all the positive views on yelp, I really wanted to try this place out. So I gave them my insurance information and waited for my turn. Well the day finally came for my appointment. They did not send me any reminders for that day, but I wrote in my calendar that I had an appointment, however I was unsure if it was at 2:30pm or 2:45pm. So I opted to come a little before 2:30pm in hopes of not missing my appointment. When I arrived I like the receptionist know I was there for an appointment and she said she was very glad I showed up because she said it was her fault for not writing down my number when I booked the appointment way back when. Well thank goodness I wrote it down so I wouldn't forget and was able to see the acupuncturist. There are two acupuncturist at this center (Angela and Minal). I booked my appointment with Minal. She was very sweet and knowledge about the practice. I did an acupuncture with cupping. Cupping was an extra $10 that was not covered with my insurance but I figured it was still a good deal. I have only done acupuncture and cupping once before this experience. Minal said she does this thing called moving cupping. Where she uses the same cups but moves it throughout the whole back. There were a few points where I experienced extra pain from the needles (which she told me was because it was super tense there) and some pain with the heat from the cups. She released a little bit of the energy and then added it back when I was able to tolerate it a bit more. She was very kind and made sure to check in on my throughout the experience. I explained that I have been pretty bad back pain for awhile now since working at my job due to all the bending over and lifting. Even to a point that I bought a back brace. Minal was able to help relieve some of the pain and I can only hope that as I go more frequently it will be more helpful. Overall, I had a great experience with Minal. I will definitely be back for more appointments. It may be intimidating to know that it took me this long to get an appointment, but after you get your initial appointment, it's not as bad to get another appointment in. They have a system that notifies you when someone cancels their appointment so you can pick it up. Also to further convince you, I had the best sleep that night after my treatment so it is def worth it!
I've been seeing Dr. Ye for about 8 months now and her holistic healing has really helped improve my stress and energy levels, emotional well-being, and overall health. She addresses any ailment not just with acupuncture but also herbal remedies and nutrition/lifestyle advice and is extremely talented at getting to the root of any problem you're facing in your body. Our sessions always leave me feeling refreshed, well-cared for, and lighter!

I am a retired US Army veteran. I started to go to Dr DarRen Chen first way back when. When he was at the office in Fremont. His staff, with Jenny they were always so helpful and thoughtful. Since the VA did not cover acupuncture treatments, I just paid out of pocket for all my treatments. Over the years. So many years. I forgot how long ago. Lower back issues were never an issue. After the clinic moved to its new location in San Mateo I began seeing Dr. Sue Lin. She was exceptional and was highly skilled and knowledge able. If I can give them five plus stars I would do it. When I started back at University to continue my studies. I had Dr DarRen Chen help me. I would retain almost all that I read. He knows so much about his craft. He does the needles oh so well. The entire family have the ancient art of acupuncture down. Studying in China for so many years. I am recommending them and this clinic highly. Wolfhound Dennis

Dr. Wu is an incredibly professional, empathetic, skillful and effective acupuncturist. I've been getting treatments from him for several months for stenosis in my back and it has definitely improved. The pain I used to feel consistently in my hips, calves, ankles and feet has noticeably diminished. But he has also helped with sleep patterns and stress. One of the best things about Dr. Wu is his listening skills. He asks lots of questions every session about my physical well-being but also about general life issues I'm dealing with. He is patient and never makes me feel rushed. He seems to listen carefully and also seems to care about the answers. I highly recommend him if you need acupuncture, whether you know you do or not!
Amazing. Instructor Kenny has saved my life. I had driving lessons with a different driving school in the area and was terrified I won’t pass, because the teacher was really bad. Kenny saved the day. Just two lessons with him helped me pass on my first try. Good communication, clear instructions, and listened to my concerns. Can’t recommend him enough.
I had a great experience with Annex Driving school. The instructor was helpful and very knowledgeable on the driving test and what the testers look for.
All Season Driving School was easy to schedule via text. They responded quickly and professionally. My daughter drove with Samuel Anderson for her first lesson. He came to our home and arrived on time. My daughter was nervous, but he helped her feel at ease. He gave good instructions and feedback.
