It is a super supportive environment and very straightforward process. I gulped at spending the money when I first started, but honestly, this money is well-spent, as it has actually worked to keep my body and mind healthy. “I've been doing semiprivate Muay Thai classes with Dr. Lin for a few months, and they're great!He obviously brings a *ton* of expertise to his instruction, but since he's also a physical therapist and a generally cool dude, the classes avoid the macho "fight culture" attitude that turned me off martial arts after studying tae kwon do for about 10 years. Although he's great about pushing you to expand your limits, he never does so in a way that's demeaning or negative, and he's very cognizant about creating an environment that's safe both culturally -- nobody's pushed into a sparring situation where they could get hurt -- and physically, because he understands the body in a deeper way than the average martial artist.He's also very communicative and helpful about appointments and scheduling!“

I usually have a hard time motivating myself to go to the gym but I look forward to my 9Round workouts every week. When you enter, everyone greets you warmly. While you work out, trainers and other gym-goers cheer you on and motivate you. When you leave, you're congratulated on a great workout and walk out of the door with a smile on your face. It truly is a wonderful experience from start to finish. Be ready to work, though! 9Round provides a high intensity, full body workout. They also offer body mapping and consultation, which has helped me orient my workout and weight loss goals. Dave also provides me with tons of nutrition tips and challenges that have made a huge difference for me! I truly cannot say enough good things about this gym, so sign up already!“

I saw my confidence and overall fitness soar over just five months of regular attendance. Kudos to the Flagship team for building such a fun, friendly, and inclusive space (their claim about having the friendliest coaches is true).It's also true that it's the most expensive fitness membership I've ever held, and Flagship's excellent coaches — Jon, Zach, Nikki, and Anaïs — and flexible memberships team have made it an *investment* worth every penny for me. Facilities are clean and well-maintained; personalized attention and safety has been central to every class I've attended.Dog-lovers would be well-advised to take Zach's morning classes, who also has impeccable class music selections :)“

“When I first moved to the area a few years ago, I was tentatively excited when I saw that there was a promising-looking weightlifting gym so close to my new place. A couple hundred visits later (but who's counting?) I am happy to report that Bay Strength is by far the most supportive and inclusive environment I could imagine for anyone looking to lift for the first time, or just trying to escape the weird vibes & preening egos that so often suffuse big commercial gyms.All of the coaches are friendly and expert at tailoring their guidance to your goals and experience level. Notably too, all of the gym's co-owners are also coaches, and the pride they take in what they've built is evident, as is the care they take to maintain the gym's low-key, welcoming culture. They are also just very real; there's no pressured upselling or complicated membership tiers -- they truly just want to work with you individually or in small groups to help you get stronger. You can lift heavy things at other places, sure, but your chances of both enjoying it and sticking with it are way higher at Bay Strength than anywhere else I can think of.“

“I began training with Abu in 2022 however our work together was cut short by a family tragedy. I came to him in October of 2023 with a specific goal in mind. I needed to get fit for a week of skiing in Canada planned for the last week of January 2024. Prior to getting started, Abu patiently listened as I explained that I was prepared to push myself to get in maximum shape. He outlined a program of skiing related exercises, gradually increasing the intensity, to have me peak for my trip. The compact facility is well equipped. His ability to explain and illustrate movements is extraordinary. I feel he intuitively senses the fine line between asking me for more and recognizing when I have reached exhaustion. He gave me routines to do between sessions with a caution to "not overtrain". The last month included three weeks of high volume rotations (strength, balance, agility, speed, etc.). The final week we tapered to the finish. When I boarded the plane the next day, I knew I was ready. Abu is incredibly knowledgeable and can be a stern taskmaster when needed. He is also warm, funny and welcoming. Training With Abu is a great joy! I highly recommend his services to anyone; from a person reengaging with fitness to dedicated athletes looking to move up to the Next Level.“

As someone who has studied ballet since childhood and practices yoga, working out on FitSprings lets me strengthen without being tight and heavy, and builds flexibility and my quick-twitch muscles while keeping my joints and muscles happy, healthy, and well-stimulated. (Never strained -- ever.) There isn't another workout that compares. I just attended Jill's teacher training this weekend, and the possibilities with this equipment are truly endless. I can't praise or recommend Jill Harris and FitSprings enough.“

“I started my time at Powerform after having my second daughter in April 2023. As someone who has typically engaged in Pilates, the idea of weightlifting was intriguing but intimidating. Max, the owner, was quick to respond to my online inquiry and was able to set me up with two trainers- Mikkie and John. He took time to chat with me about my goals. Shout out to Max for his excellent communication and thought processes for connecting you with particular trainers. John - within seconds, I immediately felt comfortable with John. He always lays out the groundwork for you so you know what to expect. His warmups always get me motivated for what's to come. I love that he is so encouraging and always keeps me on my counts during reps. John is extremely personable, and I truly enjoy our conversations. Mikkie- she has refined my squat game like no other and has pushed me to lift more than I ever expected to. She pushes me in the best way and always gives me opportunities to excel. I truly enjoy her style of training. As a mother of two young children, working out at Powerform has been transformative, to say the least. This has been my time out of the day for myself both mentally and physically. After many years of aimless workouts, I finally feel like I know how to spend my time to get the results I want.
