“I met Katie shortly before I had knee surgery to repair tears on my meniscus. It had been about 6 months of regular pain, forcing me to refrain from running, working out, or even so much as doing a full body squat without pain and/or an unsettling click. Katie worked with me to identify the problems I was having and introduced me to a series of progressively more dynamic exercises to build up my mobility and strength to a level beyond where I was before my injury.Besides her mastery of physical therapy (and the fact that Katie is just an awesome person), these three things stood out to me the most:1: Katie uses a collaborative, educational approach to her work with her clients, and she is a fantastic instructor and coach. Moving my body in new ways was sometimes difficult, but her ability to articulate the exercises using auditory and visual cues was super helpful. Seeing something and hearing it in terms I understood made the process more enjoyable, and especially let me see why certain movements hurt, and how to improve upon them. Real-time cues while doing exercises also helped to hone in on the pieces I might be missing, and especially the pieces I was doing well. Both helped tremendously.2: Katie is extremely patient. Again, moving my body in new ways was sometimes difficult, which often left me spinning my wheels as I tried to get the movements right. Not once did she even remotely seem frustrated or impatient as I struggled. Instead, she showed enthusiasm for even the smallest improvements, and celebrated all of my little wins. It made learning and getting stronger a pleasant experience that motivated me each step of the way. Katie’s office is a safe place that fosters improvement in surprising ways.3: Katie is an empathic practitioner who understands your pain, and truly wants you to get better and be your best self. Knowing that she was on my side, seeing her celebrate my little wins, all of it. Katie made my pain feel understood from the first day, and inspired me to have confidence in both my progress and my potential once I was back in action.I highly recommend Katie for anyone who is ready to feel good in their body. Private coaching or small group workouts with individual specific plans designed by the coaches is awesome! It’s very much like one on one coaching at a very reasonable cost. “Wish I’d joined sooner! I’ve always tried to stay active but I never really had a clear plan. Paul listened to my goals, developed a workout for me, and I’m seeing results which has positively impacted my everyday life more than I expected. I was carrying a heavy table the other day with no problem and sort of surprised myself because there’s no way I could have done that a few months ago. You can tell Peak Condition actually cares and they treat everyone with respect. The workouts vary to keep things interesting and I appreciate that they play a good mix of music. “I was only able to work with Khino for a short time, but he was still able to significantly increase the intensity and variety of my workouts, and I started to see and feel the results within a few months. I’ve had a lot of injuries in the past, and he was careful to work around problem areas and find solutions so I could still get full body workouts. “I have been going to Elevate Fitness for over 5 years. What a great experience it has been and I highly recommend Elevate Fitness. This gym is an instructor led class workout environment and is perfect for the person that needs motivation and a little push to do more every day. It doesn’t matter if you are a seasoned gym rat or a first timer the instructors and people will motivate you at any skill level and make you feel good about yourself. “Crux is the newly minted company of Joanna McClish. She is certified as a Sports trainer which in her case encompasses massage, injury "repair" (as in my case), Personal and Professional Sports Training (ie: get yer butt moving), and more I can't think of right now. I came to Joanna on the advise of a friend, Boy, do I owe her dinner! This business is new, but her experience is wide ranging and impressive. Plus, I swear she can look at you and see from the bones out, to really get whats not working right. I had had cronic back pain for over ten years from a discectomy. (they took one out) Western medicine being get em done and get em out, no scar care and crappy Physical Therapy were my follow-up care. Joanna started by releasing the scar tissue so I could have better movement. After a couple months (yes, months. It takes time to release10 years of scarification) I was moving easier and the pain had abated greatly. Then we moved to floor exercises and it progressed to where I am not only pain-free, but my abs are really shaping up. So, take care of your pains, no need to suffer. Joanna has my utmost respect and gratitude.You should see my balance! She fixed me and gets my lazy butt moving. At very least, strong enough to keep the pain from ever returning. Oh, I'm 51, heavier that I'd like to be, a former martial artist, chef and female. Do yourself a favor and take care of that nagging issue that's only getting worse. Or where you pulled "something" picking up your kid or groceries or the dog. Obviously, I can't say enough good things. Check her out, support the locals.“
