“Dentists make me nervous esp injections, I can’t handle that pain even when they topically numb you, I still feel that pinching pain. I had two cavities filled and I did not feel the injections at all! And I also had all 4 of my wisdom teeth here and it went smoothly, and both dentists were nice and explained everything thoroughly before the procedures. I brought both my toddlers in for their first visit and the staff were so nice; they explained everything and every tool to my kids and did not force anything and were very gentle with them and used play to explain what they were doing.“

“Great place. I've been here three times in the last five years. I should get my teeth cleaned more often but I don't. The dentist is terrific. She is well educated, professional, and pays great attention to detail. She explains things and is concerned with your well-being. She and the dental assistant cooperate incredibly well together without even having to say a word.It is a small family owned business, not a chain or a hospital. I like that. They accept cash/cards from those of us who do not have dental insurance. The prices are reasonable. I paid $85 for a cleaning and $165 for a filling.“

“As a new, admittedly wimpy, patient, I was treated with respect and made to feel comfortable. My first appointment was to extract a tooth which was causing pain and could not be saved. My second appointment for a complete evaluation and cleaning. The xray technology in this office is amazing. The cleaning practices are very thorough and they are concerned about the comfort of their patients. The office is easy to find, either by mass transit or by using the parking garage on the next block. They will give you a ticket for free parking. My overall experience was excellent and I will return for follow up work that needs to be done. Dr. Shao and his assistants and hygienists are top notch. “What can I say, I am extremely dental phobic. Just to support my comment, I was flying from Portland, OR to Orange County, CA for 5 years, 4 times a year to see my old dentist due to my fear of having to start with a new dentist (I know pretty crazy). However, it had become so expensive to fly and Uber to my dentist in Orange County, CA. I had to find a new dentist. I received a recommended to Dr. Kaveen Ranasinghe in July of this year and finally broke down to see him. He is a wonderful dentist and was very patient with my dental phobia. He spent a lot of time taking to me about my fears and how we could minimize any potential pain involved in my future dental work. Portland Dental has pain management options for even the most phobic patient like me. Also my dental hygienist (Jessica) is patient and gentle making my dental cleanings much easier to manage (she's the BEST). I would strongly recommended Dr. Kaveen (aka Dr. Ranasinghe) and his wonderful staff to all those dental phobic patients like me or anyone that just want a great dentist. Portland Dental is the best and I wanted to thank everyone for their patience and concern over my well being!“
