“I’ve been going here since for 12 years. Great family atmosphere, top notch coaches with tons of experience, great mix of competitive fighters and enthusiasts. No egos. Welcoming to all. But still pumps out UFC; fighters and Muay Thai champions. The opposite of a McDojo.“

“The most holistic place I have ever done personal training. Health focused, scientifically minded, and performance and outcomes driven. Kaylee is an incredible trainer and physical therapist, and the rest of the staff at C3 shines as well. Chi, the owner of the gym brings together many years of personal and professional experience with high level athletic training, and imbues this knowledge into his team.“

Jae Hun Kim Taekwon-do Institute Martial Arts Schools

“I joined the Jae Hun Kim Taekwon-do Institute's Boston location approximately six months ago, entering as a novice with no prior experience in taekwondo or any martial arts. Despite not being in the younger age demographic, I was nervous about starting this journey, especially uncertain of my capabilities. However, I can confidently say that this decision has proven to be one of the most rewarding of my life.I have had the privilege and honor of being taught by Master Kim and received unparalleled instructions from him. I am always amazed by Master Kim's remarkable ability to recall every student's name and closely monitor individual progress, always giving a sense of personalized attention, even amidst a diverse class of varying belt levels. Throughout the past six months, I have felt nurtured, mentored, motivated, and have learned five forms and many taekwondo skills under Master Kim's guidance. Not to mention getting a great workout! But this is not all. Here are other reasons why this school stands out:1. The school accommodates flexible class schedules for both students and professionals with a class timetable designed to suit diverse schedules.2. The school fosters a friendly and uplifting culture, where every member feels part of a supportive family. Both my peers and Master Kim consistently inspire me to strive for excellence and continual improvement.3. The school offers sparring classes. Despite initial reservations, participating in sparring sessions has enriched my experience and contributed significantly to my development as a martial artist.4. The school offers classes on Zoom!In summary, my journey at Jae Hun Kim Taekwon-do Institute has exceeded all expectations, thanks to the exceptional instruction, supportive community, and diverse learning opportunities offered by this esteemed institution.“

“Tim and his team at HarmOni have had such a positive impact on my sons life. The program is so much more than the art of karate - it's about self control, concentration, goal setting, education, being a good person, and making the right choices in life. The kids really look up to Tim and he can relate to them on every level. He's helped my son deal with bullying and talks to him 1 on 1 after class, or he lets him make up missed classes because he really cares about each individual child and wants them to succeed. He creates a sense of community with the events he does, and the fun bootcamps he has on school vacation days. I would 10/10 recommend this program to anyone!“

“A great community first and then a martial arts school that teaches and fosters respect. My oldest child has been attending the school for 8 years and the youngest for 4 years now and they have both learned the values and rewards of discipline and respect while learning self defense and practicing skills and making friendships that will last a lifetime. What truly sets the school apart from other martial art's schools around it, is that it is taught by adults who volunteer their time and effort and do not get paid for it. You only pay the gym for the access to to gym premises and that fee goes only to the gym and not to the Cambridge Tang Soo Do, so it is not based in profits but simply on the passion of good hearted people. I urge people to come and see and learn more about it.“

“So happy we found One Step Beyond! My boys (6 and 9) tried soccer, baseball, flag football, but nothing “stuck” until we discovered karate back in March 2021. Fast forward to two classes a week (soon to be 4 ?), 2 belt tests and now a competition team/weapons (all dull, nothing sharp here), my boys couldn’t be happier. Sensei Marie and Sensei Erin are wonderful with the kids and it’s a wide range of all ages and backgrounds. I can honestly say that karate has also taught my boys discipline, fitness, patience and self esteem. I highly recommend One Step Beyond!“

“I have been training at Boston Martial Arts for more than 10 years. After trying a number of different martial arts and schools, I was thrilled to find a dojo that is inclusive and diverse, offers a fun and cooperative learning environment, and teaches a really engaging and interesting art. After having had a bad experience at another dojo I realized how important it is to have a teacher that I deeply respect and whom I could see myself learning from for a very long time, and Mr. Mark Davis is that for me.I trained here throughout my grad school years and return to train whenever I can even though I no longer live in the area because the school and the art have beclme an important part of my life.Highly recommend.“

“First, I really wanted to thank Master Gomes and everyone who is a part of the dojang. My son is just SO HAPPY, more confident and his hands and feet are getting stronger. I have tears in my eyes writing this because of his tremors he has been teased and bullied and also when covid started he has been harassed for being Vietnamese. I am proud to be mixed as well as both my boys but understand sometimes we get treated differently. Last Friday when he broke the board he was ecstatic! And I wanted to truly thank you all for building his confidence.“

“Excellent school with wonderful instructors! My kids have attended for years, with my daughter is currently working on her black belt. The instructors get to know each student and support and challenge them in a very caring, thoughtful way. Students learn Kung Fu forms and self-defence, and increase fitness and flexilibity. But perhaps more importantly, they develop life skills: confidence, respect, self-respect, perseverence when working towards a new goal, and the joy and pride when reaching that goal. All while learning to be patient with themselves and others. The amazing staff at Davis Square Martial Arts were living the Growth Mindset long before it became a buzzword in education.I take the parents' class, which is an inspiring mix of martial arts, self-defence, personal training, and parenting therapy. And you get to kick stuff:) Pretty awesome! And a lovely community too.“
