“So happy we found One Step Beyond! My boys (6 and 9) tried soccer, baseball, flag football, but nothing “stuck” until we discovered karate back in March 2021. Fast forward to two classes a week (soon to be 4 ?), 2 belt tests and now a competition team/weapons (all dull, nothing sharp here), my boys couldn’t be happier. Sensei Marie and Sensei Erin are wonderful with the kids and it’s a wide range of all ages and backgrounds. He is able to get kids who don’t enjoy sports to participate in class, which is the test of a good instructor. Shihan Eric is very attentive, gives specific instructions, and approaches children in a calm and friendly but no non-sense manner.Students earn physical games at the end of class that focus on skills needed to progress in martial arts (agility, speed, coordination, etc).“
