1386a Beacon St, Brookline“Passion & Pilates is the first place I ever tried Pilates and I definitely made the right choice. I have always worked out (weights and cardio) and I have found adding Pilates to the mix has improved my flexibility, core strength and balance. My instructor, Michelle, is exceptional. She is knowledgeable, thoughtful and patient as she introduces new moves and explains what each one is designed to do. She is also a good listener and easily adapts my routine when I had an injury or limitation. I have also watched other instructors and see that they have trusted relationships with their clients. The studio is clean and modern. I always enjoy being there and feel great when I leave. I am so glad I found Passion & Pilates and highly recommend this studio to others.“

825a Washington St, Newton“I have had chronic lower backpain for 4 years and I came to Olga after 3 mildly successful attempts at physical therapy. I do not have a herniated disk or major back injury, however, my backpain has been extremely debilitating these last few years. Anyone with chronic pain can empathize the psychological torture that it can exert on a person. I have heard from others that if performed cautiously, Pilates can be a gentle and sustainable method to improve chronic back pain and was hoping to dip my toes into this form of exercise. Starting off with a more physical therapy mindset and hopefully moving on to group classes to continue my recovery.
When I came to Olga, my back hurt 24 hours a day to varying degrees but maybe a 7 on the pain scale. It was hard to tie my shoes. I elected for the 6 session PT package and went once a week for 6 weeks. This was my best experience with PT. It is a one-on-one session with Olga who really took the time to monitor my progress and performed constant analysis of muscle activation, posture and range of motion.
The sessions with Olga exclusively one-on-one with her and were often posture muscle activation and healthy movement based. It included some exercises that you can do at home with only a floor and a wall, but a lot was done on the pilates reformer, spring bands and chair. This met my goal of using this as a gentle introduction to pilates to see if this form of exercise was right for me. We also finished each session with either laser therapy or shockwave therapy at no additional charge.
At previous PTs, you speak with the PT on the first day and they make a regiment for you and largely pass you off to PTs-in-training who walk you through the exercises in the following sessions. It can feel very rushed and impersonal. Almost like they could have just sent you an email for your exercises for the week and then charge you a great sum of money.
This was a very personalized and patient focused experience without it being a crowded room of patients being juggled between employees in a profit focused larger PT company. It was more expensive than my previous PT experiences but I feel was a much greater value. After 4 years of back pain I was happy to pay a little more for an improved chance at recovery.
I can happily say that my backpain has made great progress in only 6 weeks. I feel some improved strength and changes in how my core, glutes and hips activate in my daily life. Most days I get significant chunks of the day where I am completely pain free. I will give myself credit that I was very good at completing the "homework" that Olga gave me each week. Just showing up to the classes with Olga is only a small part of the recovery process, you have to take the exercises you learn home and perform them on your own but most importantly, take the healthy movement patterns and muscle activation that these exercises teach you to your day-to-day life.
I still have backpain. If I sit down too long it hurts. If I do a lot of lifting/bending it hurts. Even after I do my PT exercises it sometimes hurts. It took a long time to get sick and it will take a long time to get better. I am still extremely happy with the progress that I have made in these 6 weeks.
After discussion with Olga, we both think I am ready to try the classes at Holistic PT and Pilates with Evellin. I feel doing it at Holistic PT and Pilates is a wise decision as Evellin understands that many of her clients come from a PT focused perspective and may not be ready for high intensity Pilates workout.
I'm excited to start these classes with Evellin and and optimistic and hopeful that my backpain is finally on the path to a full recovery.

“I have been attending classes at Btone for over a year now and love everything about it! From the amazing, enthusiastic, and empowering owner, Suz, and all of the incredible instructors (special shout out to Steph, who also is a btone coach in Waltham), every class I have taken has been so rewarding, challenging, and fun. The studio is always immaculate and their attention to detail is unmatched. I always leave feeling like a better, stronger version of myself and I am so grateful to be a part of this community. I would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a great work out, in a supportive and welcoming environment!“

1305 Cambridge St, Cambridge“I can't recommend Fitlab Pilates enough!
I used to take pilates classes frequently and enjoyed it so much, but I ended up moving and eventually found myself unable to find a studio that I clicked well with....until I found Fitlab.
The environment, community and staff are very warm and welcoming upon entrance. The studio is beautiful, clean and spacious.
I truly enjoy the pace/precision of the reformer classes and the individuality of each instructor. You can tell each class is planned and operated as such but allows for modifications or changes as necessary. Details like that assure me that every instructor is knowledgeable and an expert in their field.
Coming here each week has felt so amazing and I am so happy to be back on the reformer.“

978 Watertown St, Newton“I highly recommend The Body Center Pilates Studio. It is a Woman and privately owned Studio, where Erin, the Owner and an Instructor, truly cares about her Clients, their satisfaction. She is purposeful in increasing her Clients strength with each class. I have been a studio member (8 classes/month) for over 8 months, and with Erins' help, I have increased my core strength 10 fold and counting.
Erin, is a superb, experienced Pilates instructor who makes every class both fun and challenging. She methodically talks her students through every position while explaining how each move strengthens, open and stretches each muscle group. I have also met alot of new Pilates friends and highly recommend this Studio.“

1318 Beacon St #12, Brookline“I have been training with Kathleen since she was at her previous studio so at least 6 years. I started with her afternoon mat classes but once I injured my back and was done with PT I started private training with her on the suggestion of my PT to help continue the progress and my rehab. She listened, moved at an appropriate pace for me and with time and perseverance my back is feeling better.I have stuck with Pilates training, even doing Zoom mat sessions during the pandemic as and this surprised me I love it. I see Kathleen privately one day a week and participate in a semi-private group with my husband on another day. My husband also does a private but with Larry… note he only started training as he wanted to see what I was so excited about and why I was fitting into my clothing better. The studio itself is lovely, light and spotless. You can tell that both Kathleen and her business partner, Larry (who is fabulous as well), really care about the space.“

16 Elm St, Cambridge“I have been working with Helena for about two years and she is just an awesome instructor and educator. She always explains things (how your body works and where is the source of the problem), and gives instructions in an effective and intuitive way to make sure you can get them and exercise in the right way.
I came to her as I notice that I have a chronic problem with my right knee—it would hurt whenever I took a long walk or run. After my training with her and adjusting the ways I use my legs and feet, I don’t even remember when was the last time my right knee bothered me. Moreover, I can feel my body much better now. Before, I felt my body was like a whole piece. Whenever I moved, I moved everything together unconsciously and if I didn’t feel well, I could not ever identify exactly where the problem was. Now I can feel parts of my body better and better and can coordinate them by focusing on specific parts. I definitely consider myself lucky having the chance to work with her!“

“I have been doing Pilates with Nina for several years (and Pilates in general for almost 20). As a 55 year-old, tall man, with perennially tight hamstrings, Pilates has been life changing and Nina is one of the best instructors I’ve had. She is classically trained, but not so rigid as to be doctrinaire in her approach. She has experimented with different techniques to help me improve my core strength and overall flexibility, with great results. Her home studio is well equipped, private, and spotless/hygienic (a real plus these days!). I have convinced my wife, and friends (some experienced, some new to Pilates) to train with Nina. Everyone concurs - Nina is great!“

She is super professional, have an in depth knowledge of Pilates and other movement type methods. She is also super helpful in situations of specific injuries/sensitivities. Mara is also fun and engaging in her teaching style, being able to pay individual attention even when working in groups.“

70B Union St, Medford“As a dance instructor and choreographer for over 28 years, I know how great of a work out Pilates can be. It is perfectly designed for the dancers body, emphasizing strength, stretch and control, so when my Mom said she had started classes at Mind in Motion Pilates Studio, I felt that I'd like to give it a try as well. Let me just say, I had no idea the transformation that would take place. I had abdominal surgery that left me with very little muscle control. Not only has working with the Mind in Motion instructors increased my core strength, it also helped me regain control I had lost due to my surgery; control my doctors weren't sure I'd ever have again. I went to Mind in Motion hoping to get a bit of a 'work out' and instead transformed my body. Li has a profound understanding of the body and instructs diligently to insure proper placement, breath, and engagement. The staff is knowledgeable and motivating, the studio is spotlessly clean, and the equipment is top notch. If your looking to just 'exercise' then go to a gym. If your looking to learn True Pilates and change your body, then go to Mind in Motion Pilates Studio.“

1079 Commonwealth Ave, Boston“Pure Pilates is a wonderful studio. The trainers are professional and motivating. I have been training with Melissa for about a year and a half, and it's hard to explain just how much of a difference it has made in my life. If you've never tried pilates, this is a great place to start, and if you're a pilates veteran, you'll still be able to be challenged at this studio. The prices are also really reasonable.“

“Patti is a gifted practitioner. She has a remarkable breadth of knowledge that she brings to each of our sessions. While she always has a plan for each session, she is able to pivot easily to address a specific concern I have that day. I have worked with a number of practitioners over the years and Patti is by far the best!!“
