“He solved my PC problem! I had built a PC for gaming several years ago and it was recently getting progressively worse. He took it over the weekend and gave it back to me after several days, fixed!

What he found was that I had a temporary short on my motherboard from my installation of upgraded ram. He can't definitively say exactly how I shorted it, but hypothesized that my PC had some residual power running through the motherboard when I swapped my ram. This was causing random shorts that he was able to see during the shutdown process while running diagnostics.

“I highly recommend Dork Tec for your MacBook repairs. Recently, my MacBook screen wouldn't turn on. I took it to one shop in SF specializing in MacBooks that recommended against a repair because the expected cost would be more than a new MacBook. I then took it to the Apple Store who said they straight up would NOT do the repair. I gave up and decided I'd have to make the plunge to buy a new computer. But, before that... I decided to try one more shop... Dork Tec. Anthony who was there was so knowledgeable and seemed to know exactly what was wrong and quoted me much MUCH less than the price tag of a new computer. He had it fixed in days and was very easy to communicate (we texted). My computer was BACK... but then months later I had a camera issue. Anthony agreed to take a look at the issue, no charge. After his various attempts, the camera was still not connecting. He offered to micro-solder something to something and it worked. I don't know any customer service place that has this kind of quick and honest service. In this current world being dominated by robotic customer service like chats and long holds on the phone, Anthony and the guys at Dork Tec are serious gems who shine brightly over the rest and genuinely passionate both about the work they do and in helping their customers“

“I had a good experience at this repair shop with my ThinkPad having a TrackPoint issue. Ultimately, the issue wasn't resolved, because it seemed that motherboard replacement would be necessary. For a computer a couple of generations old, it's not really a worthy investment. The technician/Ed was forthcoming and wasn't trying to up-sell anything. Troubleshooting of this kind is rather technical, but it was completed within a reasonable amount of time, and the price for the service was very reasonable in the end. Thank you for your service.“

“I highly recommend Ameritech if you need warranty work done on Lenovo hardware.

I purchased an expensive laptop directly from Lenovo. When it arrived it seemed to work fine but after a few days I noticed that it would randomly reset. I was preparing to travel so I needed the laptop fixed urgently. I called Lenovo and they said I could mail it to them or take it to an authorized service center. I chose the latter and they referred me to Ameritech. I dropped the laptop off at Ameritech. Lavina at the front desk was very helpful. A few days later I have the laptop back and it is working perfectly. If I need any more work done on this machine I will certainly use them.“
