“This review is long overdue!I have been a patient with Piedmont Oaks Dental since 2021, having just moved to the area before the pandemic hit, and in need of a new dentist (once things reopened again!). I have loved every aspect of POD to the point that now even though they are no longer covered by my dental insurance, I plan to continue with their services because they're just so great!Carlos at the front desk - always so kind and sweet with his calls reminding you of appointments and helping to reschedule, and he even helped walk me through the process of what to expect when I showed up for an appointment recently and found out that POD was no longer considered 'in-network' by my insurance (side note: not realizing this prior to my appointment was my own fault, as POD had sent out an email months in advance notifying their patients of the coverage change, I just hadn't really paid attention!) his patience with explaining to me what my options were and what to expect with either choice I made was so appreciated!Tricia is the hygienist I usually see and I ADORE her - she does such thorough work, while also sharing recommendations on products, etc. (and where to get them based on availability and pricing) that I truly enjoy my time with her. I bought my whole family the kind of electric toothbrush Tricia recommended (and on a huge sale at costco) :) and we've all been having stellar check ups ever since then!The office Manager Deanna deserves a special shout out too: she spent an immense amount of time earlier this year helping me to deconflict a billing issue caused by some confusion with my insurance/co-insurance and procedures submitted over a year ago. It was not a simple issue and Deanna not only followed up with me via phone, but took the time to walk through things with me and offered to review my own analyses of the payments/invoices, etc. until we figured out where things went awry. I was so anxious about this process because I was worried about being submitted to a collections agency or something but Deanna assured me that until we ascertained the source of the issue she made special note on my file so i wouldn't get 'dinged' and sure enough, she had things figured out very quickly upon taking over!I just really appreciate this family at Piedmont Oaks Dental - the people as I've described above are wonderful and even though my dentist Dr. Wong is no longer with them, I will continue to go back due to the people, the cleanliness and updated tech of their facilities, and their easy to get to location!“

“A really wonderful dentist. I drive all the way to Berkeley from Sacramento to see them. I have a rare medical condition that has specific implications for dental health. They've been accommodating and proactive -- doing research where necessary to make sure that I'm getting the best care possible. I've also never had an attempt to upsell cosmetic work here; no discussion of whitening or veneers, both of which I had every dentist mention every single visit the whole time I lived in Los Angeles. Do I have to bill back to insurance? Yes. Have I ever had a problem with that? No. Ultimately, billing back to insurance (as others have mentioned in their reviews) is a very small tradeoff for me when compared with having a dental team that I trust.“

“I just LOVE this dental office. I was introduced to Dr. Victor Chaney in December of 1979, I have been a patient ever since. My children all grew up with Dr. Chaney. I go in every 6 months. I can’t imagine going anywhere else. Now we have Dr. Alex who joined the practice. What a wonderful addition. Both Dr. Vic and Dr. Alex are so personable and caring. All their work is professionally done with a gentle touch. The patient’s comfort is always their number one concern. All the office members are so friendly and helpful. I recommend this office to everyone.“

I needed a dentist who has a T-Scan device to solve my dental problems and he was the only one I found in SF Bay Area. And I’m very happy I did. “No one wishes to need a root canal. If you do, best to wish that Dr Calvert is in your network. I have twice sat in his chair. He welcomes and answers all questions. He explains the procedure and keeps you informed of the progress. in both cases, I was pain free both during and after the procedure. A great experience.“

“pros : their dental skill is great . I loved it . cons: there is nowhere easily rinse my mouth I gotta stand up and walk toward to the sink to rinse inside of my mouth. so I almost swallow my blood in my mouth Also, when i ask to get a tissue someone gave me a stiff brown tissue but I needed to blow my nose. I got it eventually but they dont know how to serve patients . also its hard to find parking spot they only had 3 spots but itwasnot easy to park . I eventually park a block away after paying. I like their skill though“

“Highly skilled dentists, hygienists,, latest tech, and office staff that are professional and friendly. Conveniently located just off Solano ave.. Feels more like a visit to a Berkeley home of old friends vs.a sterile office.setting. Relaxed chill atmosphere that totally takes the stress out of going to the dentist. They stay on schedule, too, so I rarely get to read the magazines I enjoy, that are current issues, or have time for a cup of herbal tea.

“I love Dr. Nick and his entire practice team... and more importantly, my son (now 9) does, too! Dr. Nick has handled all of our dental issues, big and small, with thoughtful, conscientious care and expertise. He makes kids feel welcome and comfortable immediately, from the physical office (the X-ray set-up makes the kids feel like they are riding a pony - so fun!) to the friendly staff. He balances professionalism (the office is always on time) with personal attention and care. I can't recommend Dr. Nick enough! My son even asked if he could invite Dr. Nick to his birthday party!“
