Body Reflects Yoga

“The massage staff is incredible. I've seen all the therapists and have been a loyal client of Carlie's since before she had her own studio. If I hadn't moved across the water, I'd still be attending yoga classes there too. Each therapist has a unique style and specialty, so I can't recommend just one—you'll need to try each to find your favorite. Massage is part of my healthcare routine, and while I'd like to choose based on my needs, they often get booked. However, I always receive a fabulous massage regardless.“

“Krista is amazing at identifying muscles that need attention and using massage and stretching to address them. I had a major problem with my glutes (piriformis) which doctors and PT folks could not help. She did a masterful, high pressure massage and it corrected. She also is knowledgeable about exercises to keep them aligned and stretched. I highly recommend her for a regular deep tissue massage also-- I feel so relaxed after one of hers. MAK M.“

“I love the instructors! They are welcoming, experienced and able to help folks adjust for different abilities. It feels like a welcoming community space. In particular, Tracy and MJ are two of my favorite instructors in the city. I always leave their classes feeling centered and fulfilled. Ive followed them from other sites of practice and would recommend their classes to anyone regardless of ability.“

“I had been looking for a new massage therapist and Scott is it. He was very knowledgeable and his Thai technique is just amazing. He was able to exert the right amount of pressure where it was needed. He stretched me out and it was very therapeutic. In addition, he is very nice to chat with. I highly highly recommend Scott as a massage therapist.“

“I've had the privilege of knowing and working with Beth for years. To say she is a treasure to all who work with her is not an understatement. Her understanding of how the body works together has depth I cannot explain. If you're looking for a way to move your body so it feels better, to address both mobility and chronic issues and help you do the more of the things that help you enjoy life to the fullest, look no further. “Made an appointment on Wednesday and was able to schedule promptly on the day and time I wanted (which was a Friday around midday). They give you a 10% off for your first appointment, and I made mine 90 minutes. They take HSA and FSA, so I was able to use that to pay for the deposit and also use it pay after the visit itself. My masseuse was Courtney. I was a teensy bit late (well technically, right on time, but you're supposed to come early to do paperwork on your first visit), but Courtney was ready to take me back immediately, as soon as I finished my papers. She confirmed what I wanted, and it was an extremely consensual massage, which I appreciated. I often tell massage therapists that I don't want my legs worked on and they insist or push, but Courtney did not. She did some excellent work on my back and shoulders and arms, and explained what she was doing and why. I didn't feel like there was over- or under-communication. It was a very comfortable experience and I was already thinking about how I wanted to return to see her again before my massage was over. I left feeling refreshed. I also appreciated that my 90 minute massage truly was 90 minute and not less. The parking lot is small, but seems to be adequately sized for the business. I was able to park right in front of the door.“

University District Yoga Yoga

“If you want a class that goes through the motions, this is not it. If you want a class where you actually learn about the poses and grow in your practice, this is it. Tara's classes are methodical and well choreographed, with each pose building upon the previous for deeper opening and growth. Tara's teaching style is straight forward--she demonstrates each pose step by step and explains in detail. She then watches us as we practice and repeat, assisting and recommending alternate poses as needed. I appreciate the slowness of her class as it gives me time to feel my body open and receive and to connect my mind to my body and breath.“

“Hands down the best acupuncture experience I’ve ever had! I did 7 sessions focusing on releasing emotional blockages and felt significant shifts over the month!! I would even say life changing… Jenna is a great listener and knows exactly what to do (tapping, cupping, acupuncture, craniosacral) in the sessions based off the feelings or physical pain that surface & Kaia is also the best presence to have around ?“

“Maven is the best. I attended this studio for 2 years until I had to move and absolutely loved the challenge and peace it brought me multiple times a week. Kai is an incredible teacher who has a unique touch to his classes, he’s a great yoga instructor and his music sets the vibe every time. Each week, Kai had a new flow and always challenged certain poses and stretches. I also went to Carly’s classes and loved them as well, she is so peaceful and meditative. Will come back to this studio if I find myself in Seattle again. Love it so much and will miss it!“

Moncure Massage & Doula Care Yoga

“Simply said, Elizabeth Moncure is an incredible massage therapist. Her natural intuition, deep knowledge of the body, and 15+ years of experience is obvious on the table. She does a wonderful job of checking in at the beginning of the session to ensure that she’s understanding your needs/goals. I love well-applied deep pressure, and she’s able to exert that beautifully. Simultaneously, I appreciate her encouragement for communication, checking in, and cuing when she can sense us working through a difficult area. Smart, warm, funny, and nurturing, it’s no wonder she has such a dedicated clientele. Anyone AND everyone would benefit from the therapy she provides. She’s also a doula, and I can absolutely imagine how I would feel having her myriad qualities guiding and supporting me in that life-changing experience that can be so beautiful and complicated at the same time. She’s skilled in reading what’s needed in many “arenas.”“

“Absolutely recommend Union Pilates! Easy parking, always clean, bright, energetic. I have taken classes from both Elise and Ashley, who owns the studio. Love the private sessions to focus more leveling up my practice, and the group classes for regular maintenance. Love that the classes are typically pretty challenging and also rejuvenating if I hit them during my lunch break, mornings or mid-day. Couldn't recommend this studio more.“

Hatha Yoga Center Yoga

“You should definitely check out this studio if you are into a no-nonsense yoga practice. I recently attended Bob's 5:30 PM Thursday class, and it was truly one of the best I've experienced. Notably, Ki, the other instructor, actively participated alongside us while Bob provided hands-on assistance. What set Bob's class apart was his skill in guiding me to explore deeper into my poses. He offered cues, encouraging adjustments, and moments to reassess, allowing me to find new depths in my practice. They do offer a mat, a block, and a (yoga) ball that you can borrow (maybe they have other things as well that I didn't look for). I don't notice any shower for students though. For the parking situation, there are a plenty of street parking on NE 112th St (probably around 10). Plus they also have a few cats that might pop up to greet you!“

“Aditi has the best prenatal yoga classes I’ve taken. They are consistent, well informed, gentle and safe. You can tell that the women who take them are healthy and happy in their pregnancy. I recently learned that you don’t get that at some other established prenatal classes in the area. I recommend this yoga studio to anyone and everyone.“
