“My wife and I were looking at repairing cedar shake siding from **** so that we could put on a new coat of paint. Our quotes for paint were complicated by having leaded paint from decades ago underneath newer coats. ***** gave ** a quote for new board and ****** pre painted HardiePlank siding and painted flashing to cover the fascia that was equal to the quotes we had for repair and new paint. It included new vapor barrier and along with the expected life of the painted ******************* made much more financial sense than wasting money painting the aging shakes. “I contracted Sound Siding to replace old, degraded LP siding with hardie plank on my chimney and ended up having them redo the siding on the south facing side of my home where I'd had some previous water damage as well. Their original chimney quote was competitive and they took care to ensure details such as the flashing and a new drip edge were properly installed. When requested to expand the job they worked with me on timing and costs to come to an agreement. The attention to detail in splash guards, quality paint for the weather and a long history of dealing with Western Washington weather patterns was outstanding. “I got windows installed on my 1959 single w/daylight basement and the process was well executed for the most part but I'll get to that in a minute.First I saw an ad online about getting quotes for windows so I put my info in and got a call from Sears.Scheduling an appointment was easy and for only a few days later.When the reps arrived, the first thing they did was going through and measure all the windows and this is where I think they messed up.I have 13 windows in this house if you don't count the 2 in the garage, and I only wanted 11 of them replaced with the security grade weatherbeaters so when I tried to tell them which ones I didn't want, all they did was try to cross out stuff on the note pad instead of starting with a clean sheet cause I didn't realize it would matter at the time but when the windows showed up they brought me 12 and apparently was charged for 12 to.The installers were very knowledgeable and professional and they got the whole job done fast and were out of my hair by 3pm.I just had them put the extra window in the garage and now I'm in the process of finding out if I can get some money back for the extra window since not only did they not installed it but I didn't want it to begin with.However, I am planning on adding onto the house and would need a window in the addition so since they made the window custom for me and If I can't get all my money back for it then at least I can still use it but I'm also curious if they'll come back and install it for me in case I need to take advantage of the warranty.“
