3108 Old Denton Rd Apt 111, Carrollton“My children took karate here and the first thing I noticed was that by the second class, the instructors already knew their names. I was disappointed when my children decided that they didn't want to go anymore, because I knew that not only did this place teach them how to defend themselves, but also to be better human beings.
A few months ago, I decided to start my own journey of karate. I wasn't as concerned about learning self-defense as I was about setting and achieving goals while doing something active. It was refreshing to see an environment where higher belts teach lower belts and the students root for each other. In these divisive times, it's important to have a place where people are encouraging you to succeed and helping you along the way instead of tearing you down. This is that place for me.“

6941 Riverside Dr Suite 100, Irving“This is a kid/toddler friendly martial arts school. Starting from the ages of 4+. The school is well organized and structured. The instructors are very friendly and attentive. The beginners class (Dragons Class) ranges from ages 4-6. It is well designed to provide not only martial arts, but also to teach life lessons in becoming a good person. The classes are fun for the kids. A great way to utilize their energy in a safe environment.Classes are from Monday-Saturday. You attend two 30-minute classes a week during the designated time spots. Classes are separated by age groups and also by skill level. My son started around the age of 4. He was very timid and shy at first. It was a struggle to get him to participate in class, but with the help of the awesome instructor staff he overcome his fear. He definitely enjoys going to classes now, and has shown a ton of improvement since joining 9 months ago.“

The Owen's Mr. and Mrs. Niels creating a great organization that is truly a family that cares for the children, Mr. Davis, Jennifer, Rachel and the many host of phenomenal instructions welcome us each and every time with kindness, encouragement, and great communication. I know we will be there many years to come, she is now a yellow belt with more confidence, strength, and knowledge as she proceeds to each level earning her achievements, she will excel mentally, physically, emotionally, and intellectually. I am excited for her growth and successes.“

It has been god and destiny that put me in this wonderful place. The instructors are beyond professionals and the people that attend are welcoming and friendly. My time in this gym has been very knowledgeable and fulfilling to the sport. This gym is great to come in and learn the art of jujitsu, the discipline you learn, the experience of others and a great way to keep your health in track. I invite anybody different ages, genders, sizes and endangered humans. Cobra Bjj is the way!!!!!!! OSS!!!!“

6869 Frankford Rd # 102, Dallas“I spent a large portion of my life in martial arts. When moving to Dallas my daughters were finally of age to start them in Taekwondo. Unfortunately, the majority of martial arts dojos have become belt farms taught by inexperienced paper black belts that push kids through the belts regardless of if they are truly learning the discipline. I spent quite a few months scouring dojos until I came across Ahn's Taekwondo.Master Ahn has been teaching for decades and has been a master of the discipline the majority of his life. His brother also has a dojo a bit north of his. Master Ahn truly loves what he does, loves the kids, and loves taekwondo. My girls are very different in personality and maturity and he quickly identified their strengths and weaknesses. He works with them every class to overcome their weaknesses and expand on their strengths, while always helping them increase their confidence. He does this while continuing to challenge them. Most importantly this is not a belt farm. If kids are not ready to test, they don't test. If they didn't practice and don't pass their belt test (he gives them many chances to fix mistakes) then they don't pass their belt. They need to earn their achievements. However, when they do, he is the first to give them kudos, raise them up, and bring their confidence to all time high. He's tough, he cares, and he will help your kids grow physically, mentally, and emotionally. If you are looking for a true martial arts studio, this is the only place to be in Dallas!“

“Well FB is throwing shade and won't let me post this as a review since I already reviewed DDA a while back, so Ima just leave this right here and write some reviews on Yelp and Google maybe. My 2 boys adore Sifu and all he teaches them. I hear "SIFU SAYS DON'T HIT" often - apparently Sifu is default authority over fighting. Suffice it to say, I was NOT surprised when my son wanted his 5th birthday to be "a karate party with Sifu". I wasn't sure what to expect, but my non-expectations were EXCEEDED and taken for a ride. Isaac LOVED his party - the lesson, the CUTTING HIS CAKE WITH A REAL SWORD, playing Piso (sp?), joking around with his favorite Sifu. All the parents were so impressed and several were like, "Who IS this guy?!?!" Sifu was great and Isaac hasn't stopped talking about it. Thank you, Sifu!“

6916 Snider Plaza, Dallas“We have been with Master Buddy Hudson for 7+ years at his Snyder Plaza school. Our son started at age 4 and is now 11 yrs old and a 2nd degree Black Belt. We still have one of the original instructors that trained Ryan at our school! I saw an early review that state that Master Hudson was not involved and I can only tell you that he is fully engaged this year. He has made vast physical improvements to the school and the way testing is treated. His leadership training program is one of the best I have seen offered. Our boy is also a certified assistant instructor helping out weekly at the dojo teaching under belts. The amount of self worth and confidence he exudes these days is due in part to the respect that is taught along with this martial art. It will bode well for him as he searches for jobs in the future and it shows daily in his respect for others and love of the friends he has made over these years. I highly recommend HPBBA to anyone who wants to see their kids grow into respectful adults. John F.“

There are also top tier specialist coaches for black belt/pro level students. I’m a novice, older than 45, and while it’s been honestly more intense than I anticipated upon signing up, I’m loving it and it’s been great for my overall fitness, alleviates stress, better sleep, and I’m also training with world champion fighters. Come give it a try. You’ll be glad you did!“

My son developed confidence, respect, and pride in his progress and ability to mentor the younger students as he advanced.“
“My personal opinion is Master Wilkerson is a chess master whose teachings carry over into real life as well as in his dojo ! The students who stick it out through black belt are confident but humbled people introducing strategy and patience into their decisions . I would recommend students becoming lifers after achieving black belt as I did and testing through various degrees of success.“
“Coach Hicks and Coach Key are both very thorough and ensure that you understand every step of the process.“
