“A Funeral Home is one of these unexpected businesses, better yet, institutions, where people have to go when the unexpected happens. No one likes to think about the end of life and yet it is about the only permanent thing in life. Finding a good funeral home is key to the grieving process as well as ensuring a good departure for the loved one. My partner's mum passed suddenly on the return from our vacation to my mountain home. A shocker to everyone. The way our society has it scheduled, the process of grieving has to be done hand-in-hand with the business transactions that accompany dealing with an undertaker. That can add a substantial burden to the family, especially in the many cases where the funeral director is less than reputable. My partner's family went with this funeral director through a recommendation and it was a great recommendation for sure. John handled every detail with courtesy and aplomb, besides a welcoming serenity that made the business process second-nature. From assembling the viewing in compliance with every family dictate and wish, to scheduling the funeral details and post-funeral dinner, every detail seemed seamless. Frankly, I hope that I don't have to deal with another mortuary director.
