55 9th St Unit 4A, Brooklyn“I've been coming here for nearly three years now and it is one of the best gyms I've ever been to.
What really makes it is are the coaches. This isn't a typical gym where you walk in anonymously, use some machines, and walk out. This is a gym where you work with a coach, you get a personalized training program, and you get coaching/advice when you're working out (if you need/want it).
I've gotten to know a number of the coaches over the years and they're all good people who have the interest of their clients at heart.
The gym has a great selection of equipment, but not many machines. That is a good thing in my eyes. Working with free weights has always been my preferred workout. They do have a few machines to help with cardio (rower, ski erg, assault bike).
The gym has a great culture. The clients and the coaches are very friendly, helpful, and attentive.
If you're looking to get some help getting a workout routine going, get some accountability, and just get into fitness in general, this is a great place. I recommend it.“
6AM - 8PM
491 6th Ave, Brooklyn“Very Personal Training is a truly special place.
During my initial intake conversation with Dani, I shared with her that in the past I’ve been a part of more harmful fitness culture, and that I wanted to try to avoid that. Dani validated my feelings. It also became immediately apparent that the business was built on a strong foundation of values. Very Personal Training is inclusive, joyful, respectful, empowering, uplifts overall wellness, and is exceedingly person-centered. Shout out to Zosia - what a motivating, attentive and fun trainer.
Very Personal Training focuses on health - in the truest sense of the word. I’m grateful that Dani has created something so powerfully supportive.“

808 Union St, Brooklyn“I’m writing this from Australia, just over 9 years since I left Brooklyn. I was casually looking through Google Maps and was so happy to see this place is still up and rocking… this remains the best gym I’ve ever been to in my life and I’ve got many great memories of my time here! I’ve been to a ton of different gyms since moving back “home” to Australia but have never found a gem like Slope Fitness.I miss this gym so much! Great size, staff and atmosphere. Ahh the hours I spent here were well worth it. Join and you’ll see what I mean!So happy to hear it’s still going strong after all this time:)“

7AM - 10PM
2537 Cropsey Ave, Brooklyn“For whoever is reading this, you must talk to Skifter at least once! If you've decided to make a difference in your body and your daily life, he is not only an experienced and professional trainer but he will also be your mentor and good friend of life.I still remember the first time I saw him, I had been suffering from disc herniation for about five years, and I also had hyperthyroidism and mild depression. In less than six months with him, he turned me into a healthy and confident man. It means that I have a beautiful body shape that I have never dreamed of and I'm no longer suffering from any physical pain.To utilize your effort, he would do everything for you so you can achieve your goal. For six months, he woke up at around 4 o'clock on the training days so he could match my personal schedule. I don't think any other personal trainer in the local area will do the way he does and care the way he cares.Trust him and follow the plan that he customizes for you! Skifter is not only a trainer of your body but also your mind, I highly encourage you to give yourself an opportunity to at least talk to him and customize a personal training plan, you will never regret it.Skifter, if you are reading this. Thank you and I will be back soon.-Richard“
“I have been training with Anna for over 6 months. She is the best. She is extremely knowledgable on workout and nutrition planning. I have done so many other forms of exercise and this by far has been the best. If you follow her program you will lose weight and get in shape faster than you expected. I highly recommend using her.“
2:30 - 7:30PM
101 McDonald Ave, Brooklyn“Jake is an incredible trainer. He is not simply a workout buff who started training other workout buffs; he has a serious education in biomechanics and related fields and is a genuine expert who knows how to make sure you get a proper workout. He also is great at tailoring your workout to your particular goal, and adapts as he learns what does and doesn’t work for you. Very grateful to have found him.“
“Faith is an amazing trainer and great person. During the initial consultation she takes your measurements. She trains, educates, and sets your macros to your specific needs. Every workout is different and pushes you. At the end of the day you send her your macros which I find much easier than following a meal plan. She teaches you a healthy lifestyle. Every few months you take measurements and pictures to see your progress. She is very responsive through text. She also practices what she preaches - she is inspiring!“
6AM - 10PM
1086 Greene Ave 2nd floor, Brooklyn“Best trainer I've worked with - he tailors your workouts based on the physical activities that you do in your spare time, and he tries to promote holistic health unlike trainers that focus on just getting you sweating or lifting the highest number. I learned a lot not just about how to have good form when lifting, but also about stretching, overall habits (breathing/posture), and more. Also he's just a super friendly guy that grew up in the neighborhood; I'd consider him to be a friend as well as my trainer.“
9:30AM - 4PM
732A Carroll St, Brooklyn“With in minutes of the first class of Yoga For Strong Bones, Jennifer showed me how to sit comfortably crosslegged with multiple props. I told her that I felt my investment was worth it with just that. She made me more aware of holding tension and releasing tension and breathing more effectively. She led us through 12 poses that are alleged, according to the NY Times, to prevent and even reverse osteoporosis. Jennifer brings her own special sauce by reading from a book of Rupi Kaur poems and creating a peaceful space that is calming to the nervous system.I am so appreciative for this amazing group of women that I share this experience with each week!“
6AM - 10PM
339 5th St, Brooklyn“Ben and Priority Fitness have changed my fitness life! I have been a runner for twenty years, but strength training with Ben the past two years has taken my running power to a whole new level. I feel strong, fast, and confident in a way I never have before. Ben is so knowledgeable about all things fitness, and comes up with unique strength routines tailored for the individual. He is also so patient and supportive and works with you to meet your goals. The studio is a great space, and has everything you need for training. I can't recommend Priority Fitness enough!“

“Honestly the best Pilates studio I’ve been to in more than 20 years of attending classes on and off. So many Pilates classes I’ve attended over the years have felt like light exercise at best, but The Fit In’s are a serious workout that leave your muscles feeling it afterwards (and have even left me sweating one or twice).“
6:30 - 7:30AM
525 Myrtle Ave, Brooklyn“I love CKO. Great workouts, difficult but possible to adapt. They got me through the start of COVID with Zoom and then outdoor classes.“
5AM - 10PM
2858 Linden Blvd, Brooklyn“Great facility to enjoy a good uninterrupted workout! Well maintained equipment and respectful and gracious gym members and of course a very helpful staff.“
6AM - 1:30PM
296 Court St, Brooklyn“Absolutely addicted. The staff is super nice and I’ve only been going two classes max for a few weeks and my abs are already starting to come back. Only thing I don’t love is if you book through class pass you are put on the very end. Not an amazing spot for a beginner. None the less I’m about to buy a membership.“
5AM - 11PM
7118 3rd Ave, Brooklyn“I've been coming to this gym for almost a year now and it has everything I need. There is usually little to no wait during the times that I come which is fantastic. The staff is on top of their maintenance, constantly reracking the weights. Haven't had any issues with other gymgoers either. Everyone seems to be coming here for the right reasons and keeps to themselves. The layout of the gym can also take some time to get used to as it involves a lot of stairs. Highly recommend a trial and/or tour before committing. The only issues I've experienced are with the lockers. There is not enough ventilation in the locker bathrooms. Any smells coming from the bathroom can fill up the entire locker room which can be very unpleasant. The steam from a hot shower can also make the room stuffy and hot during the summer months.“
7AM - 9PM
81-83 E 98th St, Brooklyn“Gym has good equipment & is very clean. Members are friendly. Staff is professional & friendly. Never too crowded mornings or afternoons.“
7AM - 9PM
232 Varet St, Brooklyn“Love Green Gym! They’ve got pretty much all the equipment one needs + amazing boxing facility and also a very neat outside area which is great to use in the summers. I work out with my trainer Arjang Jameh there who has been a fantastic teacher - not only have I learnt so much about fitness and exercises + corrective movement from him, but also had great fitness results under his tutelage!“
Open 24 today
333 Schermerhorn St, Brooklyn“Anyone and I mean 'Anyone' who is looking to lose weight, i prove their cardio and gain strength and confidence needs to come to KO Park Slope. CKO is not a MMA gym; it does not have that vibe. Most of the 'striking' is on heavy bags; not each other. :) CKO does have MMA experienced instructors however who will show you the correct fight stance, footwork, jab, cross, hook, etc. and leg kicks. They have pad classes for the more advanced members as well as partner work. Everyone respects each others levels and efforts. You can't go wrong starting with any instructors for your first class but I find Instructor Martin is very good at checking in on new and current members during the class.“
“Best PT facility and therapists in the city. Personal one on one interaction with knowledgeable, caring therapists. All staff are friendly and helpful.“
