“Okra yoga is my favorite yoga studio in the Noda area of Charlotte so far and one of my favorites in the wider Charlotte metro. I am very grateful for the variety of classes they offer, especially the number of slower and unheated classes. Most of the classes emphasize the mental and spiritual benefits of yoga, not just the physical, which is one of the most important aspects of yoga, imo.I left off a single star simply because classes that are named exactly the same can be very different depending on the instructor teaching them. I would prefer if I could rely on having a *relatively* consistent experience in terms of speed and intensity. For example, if I show up to a deep stretch class, I find it a bit frustrating if that class is actually being taught as a restorative class instead. Or if I show up to a class that describes itself as a slow or relaxed pace, but half of the class is taught at the same speed as a typical vinyasa class, this is also frustrating. I sign up for classes based on what my body needs that day, and it's frustrating when the experience differs so dramatically from the description. I would've signed up for something else instead.“

“I found Advanced Therapeutics when I was searching for pain relief massage. Jeff is absolutely wonderful. His knowledge of anatomy and function makes the massage very productive. He finds the root cause of the pain that radiates where I feel it. I feel so much better after the massage. I decided to try yoga with Theresa. I've done yoga in the past but always in classes. The time and attention she gives in one on one yoga is amazing. She addresses issues that I didn't even know I had. She is always making sure that I don't get hurt and still get a great workout. “I’ve done hot yoga all over, but CFYC was next level. The room is small enough to trap the heat and humidity so you really get that sweat you come for. They have great showers with soaps, shampoos, and lotion…and towels! The staff is lovely and I will definitely be back soon.“

I highly recommend Michelle who actually teaches the Masters Classes - she is patient, knows the technical aspect, and as a student of Pilates I want to move through each series with precision so I get the mind-body connection needed for strength, growth and physical fitness. There is not one instructor I would not take a class from here at South Providence or Strawberry Hill- these instructors are some of the best in the business!!“
“I’ve been at Hive Fitness for a little over a year now. First I want to say that it is a gym that fits all types of people and all types of workouts! It has all the machines and weights for the normal lifters. And it has a back room for the more “intense” types which I really liked the separation. The owner is super friendly and always offers help when needed. I highly recommend trying their protein shakes! The locker rooms are clean and great for the after work or break changing and cleaning up. The gym is conveniently location in the south end/lower south end area. The gym is a bit pricey from I am used to but so are all the other gyms around and the quality Hive Fitness gives makes up for it. I will say that parking is a little bit of a hassle if you are coming in at peak times. I also would advise coming in around the peak times because you will find yourself waiting a bit for equipment. All in all the gym has everything you need, clean, friendly, and a great environment for your fitness needs!“
