I was actually able to get my consultation and the procedure done in the same day! The procedure itself was fast and painless. Just some light pressure. I was seeing 20/20 after I took a nap. “I originally choose this place because I wanted to support a local Brookside business and I've been very pleased with their services. You might have to jump through an extra hoop for insurance reimbursement compared to some of the national chains or network providers, but their exceptional service definitely makes it worthwhile.I wear both contacts and glasses. The contacts they recommended for me are the best I've ever had. They spent more time considering which line of contacts were most suitable for my vision problems than any other optometrist that I've been to.Same for the glasses as well. A great match for my vision problems. I got an expensive pair of lenses and then somehow manage to scratch them up 9 months later. I took them to get repaired and I was expecting to have spend hundreds on a new set of lenses. But they recognized that they were still under warranty. They handled shipping them to the manufacturer and then they were ready for me to pick up a week later...all at no extra cost to me.I really appreciate service like that and they definitely earned a new long-term customer.“

“I've used Dr Svensen since the 90's and he's always been a very caring and patient Dr. He takes the time to explain everything and makes sure you understand your diagnosis and treatment options. He also treats my daughter. She had a lot of health issues in 2022. He took the time to listen, added new tests for her vision, found a problem and contacted the referred Dr while in the exam room with us. He has been there for us while we deal with this medical condition. I thank God that he has been our Dr and that he takes the time to listen to his patients. We will never use another Dr but him, with the exception of my daughter having to use the neuro-ophthalmologist that he recommended, who also happens to be a great Dr.“

“I found Fairway because I needed an exam for my 3 year old. This is the only place I found that could in the area. I originally had my appointment at the Liberty location but due to doctor illness rescheduled same day at the Raytown location. And that may have been for the best! My son loved all the staff at the Raytown location! They were beyond nice and very patient with him during the entire exam.“

“I literally never write reviews and I had to create an account to post this review but I am happy to do it. The service at Hunter Family Vision is something I do not see in the marketplace today. I work and am very familiar with group insurance. I work for a consulting house that is HQ in KC and while my practice is focused on absence, I know a fair amount about other group offered products. I received a text today from Brandi at Hunter Family Vision notifying me that my company's eye insurance provider, VSP, was changing their policy provisions and I may not be eligible after 6/1 for "medically necessary" contacts. In the early 90s, I grew up as a kid who had to patch their right eye to make the left eye stronger and for a long time, glasses were my only option. I eventually moved to contacts and saw a competitor. No one ever told me that insurance may cover the cost of my contacts because of the difference in the prescription between my right and left eye. At my first visit, Dr. Swan told me they should be covered 100%. The thousands of dollars she has saved me over the last 5 years goes above and beyond what I would anticipate from any other healthcare provider. This is true patient advocacy. I was overwhelmingly impressed with Brandi and the entire office staff at Hunter Family Vision. I received a proactive text today about the policy changes and recommended that I come in and see Dr. Swan for my annual exam before my policy changed. That text alone also saved me hundreds of dollars. Otherwise, I would have waited until the end of the year to only find out that VSP may not cover my contacts. I live in Lawrence, KS now. But I will happily make the trip to continue to be a patient of Dr. Swan and Hunter Family Vision. Thank you so much for being an advocate for patient healthcare.“
