“This place is fantastic! My son has been going here for a little over a year and it has been such a wonderful experience. He is getting everything I wanted out of these classes (exercise, patience, karate skills, confidence, discipline...), and Master Shruga is an exceptional teacher and gives every person the individual attention they need.“

“If anyone is looking for a martial arts, karate studio, I highly recommend Core Fitness Martial Arts (CFMA). It’s an amazing school, phenomenal instructors, and great lessons for kids and adults to learn well beyond just martial arts. I’m always impressed with the ways in which they incorporate confidence, public speaking, fitness, and fun into lessons.“

JSKA of Rochester Martial Arts Schools

“I have done Shotokan Karate for many years in multiple states with various good instructors. In 2001-2002, I had the great opportunity and privilege to train at JSKA Michigan. This club offers the highest quality and standard of training and to say that Sensei Hunt is excellent, would be a great understatement. This school is truly a gem in martial arts, where mastery meets quality and respect. The environment is very friendly. Sensei Hunt is sincere and humble, always providing the finest level of detail that only a world class instructor can deliver. His work ethic is exemplary. This is the real deal for serious students of karate, where they can grow exponentially. Over the years, the club has produced top karate practitioners. My whole family would be training with Sensei if I was local and many of the students do just this, which in itself is a true compliment for the school and Sensei Hunt. .My only regret is that I had to move out of the state and could no longer train with Sensei Hunt, until re-joining the club again during the COVID era for Zoom classes.I sincerely cannot say enough good words for Sensei Hunt an his karate school.“

“Sifu brown as a teacher focuses on personal growth and development, not belts. He has used his 40+ years of practice to create an environment that he'd enjoy practicing in. He develops people to be better than themselves and uses tests to break through the will. Growth is often painful... As a person, neurodivergent and complicated, i rarely got the feeling that sifu liked me, more so it felt like he used me as an opportunity to see his own rough edges, a stone making ripples in the water of his pond... That being said, he never kept teaching or participation from me. He let me have the complete experience, and tried throughout to push me to be a better person. My time with sifu was hard... i often let myself down... I literally gave it my 100%... He gave me the opportunity to study with some of the best in the world. Doing dynamic and progressively more intense practice with great partners who celibrate successes. Ultimately i walked in feeling like a victim and i got to learn to be a warrior, a meditation samurai, who was blessed to find a teacher who, although not personally enlightened yet, nor did he ever claim to be... still devotes all of his energy encouraging the path of peace and mindfulness, in all of those around him.“
