“"Death does not take a holiday". A beloved family member passed away on New Year's Eve 2023 and in a fog of grief, I thought we would have to wait until January 2nd to make arrangements. I called Watkins Brothers Funeral/MacDonald Chapel at 8:30 pm (planning to leave a message) yet was scheduled for a meeting on New Year's Day at 1:00pm to begin the process of arrangements.We met with Meagan Crosson who was the absolute perfect person to help us navigate what needed to happen next. “First a disclaimer: My only remuneration for this review was complete first class service from a most competent staff at Keene-Griffin putting together a funeral pre-planning package for my wife and me.The staff member I worked with was Corey Calderone. Her presentation was detail knowledgeable in every respect to funerals and planning. While most professional in her presentation of how/what everything related to funeral planning, working with her was most pleasant and down-to-earth. She could answer any question and make suggestions/options for all aspects of funeral planning. And, she handled questions/dealing with other entities, such as cemeteries, marker/monument sources, etc.I have to give Keene-Griffin with Corey Calderone 6 (out of 5) stars. “I can not speak more highly of a funeral home or individual.Penny was available late in the evening to assist and guide our family through the process that would take place after our beloved family member passed. During this traumatic and devastating experience, she was able to assist us in picking out all of the appropriate items for our loved ones funeral in a timely, unrushed manner. she did not ‘push’ items on us nor try to ‘sell us’ on what she preferred, instead she assisted our family in understanding the differences between caskets, services, etc. Penny assisted in writing the obituary, obtaining the priest, and had all of the flowers that were purchased and sent set up beautifully. The walk ways were paved and salted to accommodate family members in wheelchairs. She was patient and accommodating when a winter storm postponed arrival of family for the pre-funeral planning.Our family has been using Herrmann Funeral home for many years now and we are beyond satisfied with the services they have and continue to provide.I would recommend Herrmann Funeral Home to any individual who is looking for a kind, compassionate and caring Funeral Home to take care of their loved one.“
