    "Death does not take a holiday". A beloved family member passed away on New Year's Eve 2023 and in a fog of grief, I thought we would have to wait until January 2nd to make arrangements. I called Watkins Brothers Funeral/MacDonald Chapel at 8:30 pm (planning to leave a message) yet was scheduled for a meeting on New Year's Day at 1:00pm to begin the process of arrangements.We met with Meagan Crosson who was the absolute perfect person to help us navigate what needed to happen next.     If I could give them 100 stars, I would. Chuck, Megan, and the whole team treated our family with such kindness, dignity, and respect during the most trying time of my life. We needed an urn vault to bury my father, and the whole team stepped in to help us plan a small service. My Dad died in a sudden, tragic car accident, and it was an incredibly emotional and raw time. Even though we only bought an urn vault from the funeral home, Chuck came and provided a small service and prayer as we laid my dad to rest.     Recently, we had the opportunity to use Watkins Brothers Funeral Home in Howell for a death in the family. Under the direction of Travis Watkins all of our concerns were quickly and efficiently handled, some of which we had'nt even asked for. Everything was beautiful and precise. It's no wonder the funeral home received the " Pursuit of Excellence " award, only given to 12 other homes in Michigan. Thank you Travis and the entire staff.The family of Shirley Hayward
