83 Pine St #5, Peabody“I originally began my Uechi journey at another dojo in 2009, but after three years of training, my life circumstances changed and I left Uechi for more than a decade. I wanted to return to Uechi training for several years, so I finally began looking more seriously in 2023 for a new Uechi dojo. I found out about AKTC and Sensei Chip via a Google search in March of 2023. After emailing back and forth a few times, I rushed down to the dojo with the intent of trying out a few classes. I was immediately hooked. I was impressed with the set up of the dojo, the students, and sensei Chip's talent. Everyone in the adult class is helpful and friendly. I quickly felt accepted by the group despite being a transfer from a Uechi dojo that was part of a completely different organization. I knew I had found *my* dojo. Sensei Chip gives personalized attention and feedback to all of his students in a clear way and everyone sees improvement. He makes learning both fun and interesting, and I always leave class in a great mood. I couldn't recommend AKTC enough to anyone looking for a dojo for either their kid(s) or themselves. Every other aspect of my life outside of the dojo has also improved since I started training at AKTC.“

649 Lowell St Unit G, Peabody“I visited ADAS for an open mat and had a wonderful experience! Everyone at the academy was incredibly friendly and respectful. Kids, moms, and dads all shared the mat, showcasing a strong community-based gym. ADAS clearly fosters a welcoming environment passionate about BJJ as a whole. Their instructors were extremely hospitable, making everyone feel right at home. The facilities were super clean, which is always important.
If you're looking to train BJJ in Peabody, I highly recommend this spot. I heard great reviews about ADAS, and they truly live up to the hype. OSS!“

“Steve Nugents karate Institute has 2 main karate schools or called "dojos", this one in Winchester and the main one on Cambridge Street in Burlington, Mass. They structure their programs around safety and awareness, overall respect, and good basic karate self defense skills. Their instructors led by Grandmaster Nugent are super trained, even in first aid and cpr, which I thought was excellent. They are super passionate and attentive toward their student and actually are quite caring, which I have never found in my searching for quality karate schools. Definitely check them out... I am very impressed !“

Master Shin has been nothing but caring and kind, as well as supportive and honest. Even after I have taken a bit of a leave from his business he still continues to help me to this day. I am truly grateful for everything he has done for me and I could not recommend a better Teacher and master to anyone else.“
“I researched karate dojos around the area for my son and enrolled him in the trial program at Keefe’s Martial Arts to see if he will like karate. He loved it. Sensei John does a wonderful job with the kids, he holds their attention in a participative, energetic, and fun way. Over time I saw my son - and the other kids too, transform. They gained self-control, skill, and confidence. During Covid, I highly appreciated that Sensei John provided online classes as well as outdoors sessions. It was safe, no one quit, and no one got sick. The kids learned to strive for normalcy when nothing else was normal. Kids build character at KMA.“

750 Main St #1s, Winchester“We began with Elite Freestylekarate shortly after we moved here. We have been very happy with our decisions. Though I was initially put off with how speedily kids were moved along and the costs, I came to understand the necessity that given the commitment required, it is helpful to allow kids to see progress. I have seen my daughter begin to really master many of these skills as she progresses and in most classes there is always a point to stress the basics, that all the more advanced skills are built upon. I feel that all the progress I have seen in my daughter with respect to fitness, maturity, commitment, and martial arts skill have justified the expense. The Senseis are always respectful and I credit their ability to manage such diverse classes, diverse in backgrounds, ages, and behaviors.“
