I love this salon for my natural styles and maintenance, as I like to try new things. The Lock Me Down Gel is THE PRODUCT! I have psoriasis and have tried many other gels, creams, sprays, etc to hold down my edges and braid my hair with but they all irritate my scalp. This gel is the only thing I have found that doesn’t. I’m a lifetime customer from now on!

Best haircut and glaze I’ve ever received, Jacklin was beyond sweet and even offered a glaze refresh after a week if the color isn’t exactly as expected. The cut and color turned out better than I could have imagined and I will not be going anywhere else in the future. She was so gentle with my hair while blow drying as well as to not cause any breakage, I appreciate the care she took to listen to my wants while also using her expertise to guide me to what will ultimately flatter me best. You can tell she has many years of experience and is very knowledgeable.
I recently visited Steven Papageorge for a haircut and balayage, and I couldn't be happier with the results! As someone with naturally red hair, finding a stylist I can trust is always a bit nerve-wracking. However, they truly are the best here. The stylists are incredibly nice and welcoming. They took the time to listen to what I wanted and gave their own opinions when I asked as well. The balayage they did is absolutely stunning and blends perfectly with my natural red hair. Their attention to detail and commitment to making sure I was comfortable and happy truly sets them apart. Cannot recommend enough!
After I tried doing my hair at home, (which didn’t end well) Vincent helped regain my confidence judgment free and in the process gave my hair the help it needed bringing it back to health and made it look beautiful! Alex is the absolute best!! I book for either a full or maintenance balayage with her about every 4-5 months. She’s a pro, I let her take complete control knowing she’ll give me the most beautiful results. I get compliments almost every single day on my color. Salon Texture is my go to salon for my hair needs. I have been going to Yuki for a few years now and I always walk out of there in awe. Yuki gives me a hair trim and color that is undeniably the best in the Chicagoland area. I have long straight hair which can be bland and boring, but, Yuki puts her special touches and layering techniques that makes it look fun and sexy. My last hair color was interestingly fun. She added blonde highlights to my dark brown hair underneath the crown for a fun look when I go out and professional when at work. I'm still getting compliments and it's been 3 months! You know that anxiety when you sit in the chair and cross your fingers and hope the hair stylist understands what you want? There is no anxiety here because she instills trust with her confidence and her artistic approach. Either you got it or you don't...Yuki's got it and then some. The salon is clean, across from JoyYee's, and parking is out front. What more can I say? Go and check her out.

Unwana was referred to me by a great friend that has had amazing hair growth results with her 6 month sew-in service. This was my very first time getting a sew-in. From the braid down, install, and styling she made sure I was happy with my service. My braids felt secure but not tight and I don’t feel the tension that I have felt after receiving other protective styling in the past. For a cheap haircut, go to sport clips. For a great value haircut, go to Joe's. I'm a man with long hair and I'm very possessive about who touches my hair, so whenever I move I dread finding a new barber. I've been to Joe twice, which is just about my 3 year record for repeat visits because Joe has given such good care to my hair and beard so I leave not only looking great but feeling refreshed. I love the hot towel and straight razor treatment. He gives a very nice haircut. I will be returning for as long as I live in Evanston.
I had some time in between appointments and I happened to be in Evanston. This was the best haircut I’ve had in years, Jay clearly knows what he is doing. The haircut took 14 minutes. This is the quickest haircut I’ve ever had and extremely impressive for a skin fade on the sides with longer on top. I will come out of my way to get my haircut here regularly.

I have been coming here regularly since they opened twelve years ago! How have I not ever written a review? This is my go to mani/pedi place. I am so glad they survived the pandemic. This isn't one of those "get you in, get you out" salons with five TVs blaring different shows. They do take walk-ins and even when they are busy, you can still get in with a short wait. If you prefer a nail salon with an efficient but calm; busy but friendly vibe, this is the place for you. It is very clean, modern and comfortable. Their manis and pedis both include firm but gentle massages of your arms, hands, legs and feet. These massages are longer and more thorough than what you usually get at other places, these women know what they are doing. There is no upselling. When you get a mani, there is a complimentary neck and shoulder massage. Great color selection of OPI and Essie, no-chip and dip manis/pedis. They usually have a movie or TV series playing while you get your services. The ones you find on a rainy day and you happily watch the whole thing. It truly feels like a great break in your day. They also do waxing services, chair massage and regular massage. Their prices are reasonable, tips are cash only. Highly recommend.

As far as nail places go, Dazzle does everything right. I was seated right away as a walk-in pedicure even though it was a busy Friday afternoon (though I saw other people being asked to wait upwards of 45 minutes), and the man who did my toes (Dagvadorj) was so thorough. For $35, I definitely feel that my money was well spent. This is not your standard pedicure - there are all sorts of scrubs and lotions and hot towels put on your legs and toes. And my toenails look pretty great painted, although I wish it was cheaper to just clean them up and not paint them. The salon even has a machine that dries your toes in ten minutes and a spray to seal them. It was bustling when I went, and I'm sure it's always very busy. Will be returning.

This is a very small salon if you do not look close enough you will miss it. It is next to Tapas Barcelona on Chicago Ave in Evanston. Marian is the main stylist and she is wonderful and extremely accommodating with appointments as well as hair washing process. She has given me two fabulous haircuts that I absolutely loved and her styling fees are very reasonable. There is also free parking garage around the corner (you get one hour for free) ask Marian and she will direct you!
The hair care professionals there offer A-1 service. Untraditionally flexible hours (Will even work on a Monday for you)!
I had an amazing experience getting my hair cut by Matt! He helped rescue my hair from a pretty bad previous cut, and clearly took the time to listen to my normal routine and what I needed out of my hair. The salon has a lovely atmosphere, Matt is fun to chat with, and the price feels very reasonable for the time and quality of the service

I came here for my first time yesterday and my experience went really well. As soon as I walked in I was attended and greeted, offered something to drink. Everyone was so friendly and nice and made me feel welcomed right away. I didn’t get the names of the three people that did service on me but one of them and Thank You Joe for my cute white painted toes. I also don’t go for wax when it comes to my eyebrows but the lady did such a good job in shaping/cleaning my eyebrows I don’t go out and get my nails and toes done often but I can tell you I’ll be coming back again soon :))

They were cooperative, efficient, and whenever a problem came up, it was solved within an hour. They twisted their schedule around some unpredictabilities on our part. What else could one ask for?
Flader Plumbing Heating has now done three jobs at our home:
1.) Supported our Kitchen Remodel
2.) Installed a dual-pump sump pump system
3.) Cleared the drains on our window wells (4 of the 5 were blocked with one actually filling with water and leaking into the basement)

Rick, Steven and their team did an outstanding job diagnosing our problem and coming up with the best solution to our very difficult sewer nightmare. 60 + year house with disintegrating cast iron pipes everywhere. While doing this he tactfully provided advice on preventive maintenance. It is so much easier to get through the day without the little irritations from all those little things. I've resisted the solicitations of the big lawn weed-control/fertilizer companies for years. Finally, I threw my hands up--the noxious intruders took over in our wooded area. A friend suggested that I call Steve at Logic for an appraisal. They use all organic treatments and the price is reasonable. They are a small local company committed not to outgrow their capabilities. I noticed an improvement before the second treatment (of 6 for the season). Everyone who visits raves about the lawn. I try to water it once in a while, a source of guilt given the water shortages in the country, but we have Lake Michigan, which connects to Huron to boot! I've since recommended several friends to Logic.
I called Eric the morning after a terrible storm. Their staff showed up same day and helped clean up somelarge tree limbs. They were done quick, and cleaned up the site, to where you could barely tell they were there at all.

My dad's bottom denture broke (even the metal piece) in half. I called around but all the dentists wanted to just replace the entire bottom or both top & bottom which will take many weeks, especially due to 4th of July holiday week. Doctor Hopf said lets do our best to fix the one with his lab so he can eat right away. He did an amazing job & saved me thousands of dollars. He went above & beyond to take an impression, repair, & adjust and made him a new entire bottom piece with the original. Its like new & now he can eat!. Since this summer, my dog had inflamed itchy skin that he would lick until it became raw and infected. His other vet gave him an allergy shot and then when that didn’t work prescribed Apoquel. Apoquel also was not effective for him at the maintenance dose. Dr. Siwek spent a significant amount of time with Atticus to identify the root cause and prescribed some supplements to heal his gut. Within two weeks, he was no longer itching and his skin tone was significantly less pink. My daughter and I were so impressed that we started taking some of the supplements ourselves.

I have several of my pets cared for by Evanston Animal Hospital and really like the place, which is near where I live. Dr. Henry, the owner, the other vets, the receptionists and the vet assistants are very competent and cordial.
Had a great experience with Bramer in the nineties when I brought my cats here, and was happy to find they are still going strong now that I have a new puppy. Everyone on staff is kind, knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. The vets and techs regularly sit right on the exam
room floor so that my dog can approach them easily and shower them with kisses. The exam rooms and office spaces are bright and clean but don’t smell like strong disinfectant. I always feel that I have plenty of time to ask questions and am treated with respect. Finally, my dog loves it here and can’t wait to get in the door and greet everyone. In the exam room, he’s relaxed and happy while waiting. That says it all!
Tony is a highly skilled practitioner of healing bodywork, but he is so much more. He treats the whole person, including body and mind, with an empathetic and intuitive sense of what you need. It is truly an experience unlike any other that I've had, and I have become a repeat client. Tony seems to be helping me to find a better balance in my life. I love this studio so much. They have excellent classes offered at multiple levels of ease and challenge. Their teachers are very knowledgeable/supportive and the owners are kind and welcoming. They also offer really interesting Sunday programming (Soul Care Sunday) for yoga and other wellness topics.
I love the bright and modern new office location! My practitioner is Meghan, who is absolutely awesome; if a practitioner is unavailable, such as on vacation, they work together to cover care. Meghan has a great bedside manner, practices with high integrity, and is steeped in information about Chinese medicine and practice. I primarily see her for support with midcycle discomfort, but whenever I have something else going on, be it a particularly anxious week, wound healing, dealing with transitions, digestive issues, or even a bruise, Meghan is on it, because of course she is one of those rare holistic practitioners we are all searching for. This office provides not only acupuncture but also modalities such as Chinese herbs. I feel so supported and feel much better than when I started!

Just had my first massage with Steve. I've been getting massages regularly for more than 35 years & this was one of the best ever. Steve is a master, with many techniques at his disposal so he can meet your individual needs. He is very professional, highly skilled, & also kind & friendly. He even asked if I liked the music, which he could change or silence if I preferred - no one has ever asked me that. A bonus is his "Swiss army knife" of a massage table with infinite adjustments. I had a lot of tightness in my back and legs due to my love for running, and was in desperate search of a professional who could adequately address this. I had previously been requesting deep tissue work at massage chains or spas, but I experienced either intense soreness afterwards that made my tightness worse, or I was charged more for what really was a swedish/relaxing massage (not a sport massage). I went to Scott and he was able to identify where the trouble spots were as if he could see them. He was extremely knowledgable and explained what he was addressing as he worked. Afterwards, I immediately felt the difference just when I walked, and I did not feel "beat up" as I have felt from past experiences when I have requested firmer work to address the tightness. Not only was he very knowledgeable and professional, but more reasonably priced than the services I had previously used, that didn't come close to his knowledge and professionalism. Mehwish provided an excellent facial with a therapeutic touch. She continuously asked whether I was comfortable with the pressure and towel temperature. She was very customer focused and provided advice for maintaining the beautiful glow I had at the end of the facial experience.

Aime is an incredible PT, and her staff is so friendly and welcoming. I came in for lower back pain and between our regular session and the exercises she provided me to do at home, I feel so much better. I also like that she uses different modalities, like cupping and deep tissue massage, in addition to the traditional PT exercises.
I completed about six months of physical therapy for my hip. I could not run or walk without pain, and I feared I would need a hip replacement at 45! The PT did the trick. Thanks to all my buds at the Evanston location for making PT a great experience for me. I am now running a marathon—what?!

So I was looking for a good acupuncturist and was given Lisa Meyerson’s name. She has been wonderful and has tried a few techniques as I have told her what I have been going through. I have Parkinson’s Disease and I have had some bad falls. My fractured elbow being the worst. I haven’t been able to straighten it for some time now but a few things she has tried seems to have loosed it up a bit I really enjoy seeing her and am totally relaxed when I leave. I would recommend her!!

I started going to Dr Maria because I had really bad knee pain. I had been dealing with in for around 4 years and it was affecting my life in a very negative way. I found myself stuck on the sofa watching tv instead of going places and doing things which, as you can imagine, was very debilitating to my social life. I went to Dr Maria and explained the issues I was having. She suggested acupuncture to start. I went to her for a couple of sessions and was not seeing any improvement at first. I figured it might take awhile so I went for the third time. That is when the magic happened. After that session ALL of my pain went away. I had a 2 month period when I did not have ANY issues at all! I couldn't believe it - acupuncture with Dr. Maria really works!!! If you have pain and want to alleviate it - you must try Dr Maria's service - life is too short to live with pain all the time.

I recommend Dr. Kuan, whose help I sought for some extremely painful and inconvenient ailments whose symptoms had recurred more frequently until I began treatment with him.For three months, I had regular appointments and no incidents with the various organs that had been troubling me for almost two years.I was able to live pain-free and improve my nutritional uptake during these months, the time it took to get diagnosed and treated with surgery. I do attribute that to Dr. Kuan's care.In addition, on my most recent treatment, post-surgery, I was in a lot of pain and discomfort all day, but ended up very glad not to have canceled my appointment. I literally felt my battered organs relaxing and the pain melting away, from the beginning and all through the treatment that day. I walked out like a new man, having the most dramatic improvement I have ever felt at a doctor's office.I am confident that Dr. Kuan's methods were helpful for me living a better life at a very difficult time.
I took my lesson from Nova at Evanston. I had my lesson with three different instructors for 8 hours btw + 2 hours btw + a road test. They are all very good instructors. David CA is knowledgeable about the car and always on time with the schedule, but can be a little perfectionist (which some of you may find helpful); David CR helped me throughout my nervousness and more confidence during the lesson; and Marq very good at giving tips and trick with many things, also a good attention with details. Overall it's a very good experience. I also feel at ease (less stressed) when taking the road exam because Jamie helped me during the process of paperwork and preparing for the road test. The customer service is also helpful and very informative. Sometimes, they can be disorganized and late, but they make up the late time as long as you let them know. I had stopped in on two other driving schools before choosing ADDS. One felt like a wrong fit, mostly due to availability and the other (also in Evanston) had a front desk person who was condescending and gave what I knew was incorrect information.
As an elderly woman, new to Illinois and not having driven for over a year, this challenge was almost overwhelming.
From the minute I entered the office of ADDS, I felt comfortable. First contact was the very busy Kemyta, who was juggling phone, paperwork, walk-ins and still smiling. When she was free, she asked me a few questions, then showed me how to maneuver their website, which had practice tests and much other information. There was also a voice behind a partition - an instructor giving a lesson to a group of high school students. Kemyta and I discussed my tailored requirements including pickup and dropoff as well as instruction for written test, driving test and all the crazy paperwork associated with an out of state elderly person licensing situation. Kemyta assured me that the owner, Doug Whitmore, a retired state policeman, would lead me through the process.
When I met Doug, I asked him to be very straightforward with criticisms because I wanted to get this right. In turn, he gave encouragement, precise feedback, directions and kindly- phrased criticisms. After each session, I received a detailed summary from Doug’s wife Andrea, while Doug was off giving CDL lessons for truck drivers. Text messages and emails were answered in reasonable time. This group had so many dimensions but operates very compatibly.
I was apprehensive about taking the test and asked if I should have one more lesson, but Doug said he thought I could pass and gave specific issues on which to focus. He easily could have had another payment from me, but he took the high road (no pun intended).
I passed all the testing and got a license. Yay! This company is like family. They care about your success, know what they are doing, kind, moral and truly a pleasure to work with.
