“I went to Uncommon Closet to tailor my wedding dress and other wedding related outfits. I went there after doing tons of research into tailors in the Chicagoland area and getting estimates from several. Uncommon Closet was such a pleasure to work with--great communication and gave clear and detailed estimates. And then when I came to get fitted, everyone was so wonderful and the final work was superb. It was actually fun discussing the dress. They put in a wrist loop so I could dance more easily in the dress. They also did a how-to video for my Mage of Honor so that my MOH would know how to do the bustle. Just fantastic. Everything was so well done and on time. I now bring all my tailoring to Uncommon Closet. Highly highly recommend. Would give 10 stars if I could.“

I went elsewhere for years but, my regular place closed during the pandemic. I decided to give this place one more chance ( I was desperate) I had no idea that they have changed owners! The ladies were fantastic, friendly and very knowledgeable. They also do AMAZING alterations! I had a little hole in the sleeve of a chiffon dress, wasn't sure if they could even fix it.. when I picked it up, it magically disappeared! I had a hard time even finding where it was! I am so glad to have found this place again, I only wished I knew earlier of the owner change.“

The man working there was kind and friendly. I was a bit apprehensive as the ticket he gave me didn't have a date of drop off or pick up on it, and I did also have a necktie and that wasn't specified, only marked that I had 2 suits and circled Monday to represent the pick up day. (Maybe that's how it's done at dry cleaners?) Easy drop off and pick up. Suits cleaned. Also, my husband had a lighter in one of his pockets that I was unaware of when dropping them off, but the man had put it aside and had it returned with the suits. Fair pricing. It seems like they prefer cash, but do accept cards. All in all good experience and will bring anything that needs dry cleaning here.“

“Fantastic tailor! I ordered a bridesmaid's dress for my friend's wedding online. Obviously this story ends with the dress not fitting and I was running out of time. I reached out maybe 2 months before the wedding and they were the first ones to reach out to me, immediate availability, and an affordable rate. I took the dress to them the first chance I had and they were on top of it. They were quick with the measurements and overall fitting, I think I was there no more than 20 minutes. I asked about payment and return time, they gave me a fair price, literally average tailoring price online, and I picked it up 1/2 weeks before the wedding. It fit perfectly, they were able to keep the pockets without losing any space, and I never had to worry about any wardrobe malfunctions. They were kind, respectful, and honestly funny. “Run, don't walk to secure Mary for your alterations!!! I don't have enough accolades to convey just how much I loved working with her and how much of a professional she is. Immaculate attention to detail, excellent communication, incredibly detailed information provided to me every step of the way on the alterations journey of my wedding gown. Just picked it up after my final fitting and I feel like a million bucks in it, it is perfection and it was NOT an easy dress to alter. Tons of beading and applique all over that we had to move, lots of layers of fabric and I'm 5'2 so needed a large amount of shortening and adjusting of the sides of the train, etc etc etc. I was worried my dress was too complicated to accomplish the exact look I was going for but she naileddd it, literally best vendor I hired hiring for my wedding UGH. Trust me when I say she's magic and you need her. She's also a gem of a human and truly cares. THANK YOU!“
