“Everyone was polite and kind and listen to what I had to say, I would recommend this area for therapy, I hated to stop my therapy. Hope I get to stop by to say hello every once in a while… Good job crew, keep up the good work.“
“I came to District Performance & Physio after suffering a sudden knee injury a month before my first half-marathon. I felt pretty defeated and very uncertain about my chances of completing this run. But with the expertise and support of my PT Ariella and student in training Julyana, I crossed that finish line! They set up custom workout programs tailored to me which were easily available and updated via an app on your phone. They are also very responsive through text and email. After experiencing some pain the week before my run, I reached out to District P&P through text and Ariella called me that same day. They really do care about their clients and the personal touch and kindness they show really shines. Pro-Tip: Try to have at least one session with their official greeter Olivia the golden retriever. She’s the BEST!“
“trainers are incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. session booking and management is easy and flexible. gym is top notch. i was treated for both a shoulder and hip flexor injury (hip flexor injured after shoulder treatment started). trainers were easily able to pivot exercises to treat both areas within my sessions. both areas were completely healed and back to normal after my 10 pre-paid sessions were complete. highly recommend and will be back if any other injuries flare up.“
“I've sought out PTs many times in DC over the years, and I've just never gotten better, more expert, and more encouraging help than I've gotten from the pros at District Performance and Physio. I recommend them to friends on a regular basis, and I'm just so glad there out there. Highest possible thumbs up!“
“My knee felt blocked for a while during my holidays last Summer. At first my knee problem was not bad. I had a busy agenda so I did not do something about it. When it began to feel blocked – I could not use it properly; it was difficult to bend it, and also in standing/ walking it felt stiff and difficult to walk. I was also having difficulty playing rugby. I noticed when it got worse, my knee felt stiff after a long flight from Europe. It was hard to walk properly after that too.I had an ACL tear and surgical reconstruction 30 years ago in this knee after being active in sports. I had a second ACL tear in the same knee and also had a tibial plateau fracture in the other knee. After so many years of being active in sports, I began to have this knee problem last Summer. After seeing Trupti, and her doing manual therapy, dry needling, exercises to improve my knee mobility and also improve knee strength/ stability, I can now walk much better. My knee feels less stiff after she works with my knee with manual therapy and dry needling. I saw two orthopedic doctors and an MRI shows severe arthritis, loose bodies and wear/tear in my meniscus on both sides. I have also been able to play rugby although right now I am not playing as much. My knee stiffness has reduced significantly. I was also able to ski well this past Winter into March without any problems. My goal is to avoid a knee replacement and function on my current knee as long as possible (as I am in my 50s and want to avoid it at this age). Trupti has helped me achieve this and also explained to me what I will have to keep doing in order to keep it this active and mobile and prevent it from getting worse. If you are having similar problems and unsure about whether to give this place a try, my recommendation is to talk to Trupti and go in for a consultation. She will be able to look at your problem and give you expert guidance. It has helped me a lot.“
“My experience with Active Physical Therapy was nothing short of excellent. The staff, from the front desk personnel to the physical therapists, were friendly, caring, accommodating, and professional. Most importantly, the therapists were knowledgeable about how to help me overcome my debilitating sciatica, and after a couple of months I was pain-free without having any surgery or taking medications. I highly recommend APR!!“
“Star Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation Review
Turning 96 in June 2024, I have had excellent health but experienced a number of minor injuries conducive to using physical therapy. So I had had previous experience with this kind of treatment. The time I spent at Star was the best.
To begin with, the facility is pleasant, with large windows, and very well laid out so that three or four therapists can work freely with patients with different levels of need. The atmosphere is welcoming and exudes a sense of community, working together to produce comfort and high performance. Sam Dozier, receptionist and Therapist Aide, greets people warmly, tirelessly arranges schedules to suit your convenience, and throughout your time there offers compassionate support.
I worked alternately with Kyra Corradin and Aysha Ehsan. To sum up, I found them to be kind, caring, and focused. They are professionals with a special understanding of the power of movement to refresh and restore. Although work in the sessions is directed to particular areas of the body, the target is the whole person, not just a sore neck or knee. Kyra and Aysha began each session by asking how I was feeling that day with an interest not only in physical issues, but also in my spirits and general outlook. Their goal was to make me feel better through movement specifically directed to areas needing attention. If I indicated pain in a particular area, they would begin by massaging that spot, literally demonstrating the common expression, “I can feel your pain.”
I always did feel better after my sessions. However, both therapists strongly emphasized the importance of taking personal responsibility for learning and doing prescribed exercises at home. I thought they were great teachers, very good practitioners of their trade, and good at motivating me to carry on the lessons ourselves.“
“Excellent in every way. Competent, friendly staff, clients appreciative of the help they received“
“I found CNMR when seeking ongoing physical therapy/muscle work after recovering from an SI joint injury, and could not be more thankful! I reached out to Jon via Yelp and he was quick to respond and support in setting up an initial appointment. After working with Jon and the team for the past couple of years, I could not recommend CNMR more strongly! The practice is extremely well-run and the staff are kind and accommodating. Jon is a phenomenal practitioner and has worked to craft an adaptive treatment plan with me throughout our time together. I really appreciate his ability to articulate the underlying causes of pain/injury and have gained a ton of insight and knowledge I will carry with me.“
“No matter what is happening with your body, Danelle will know exactly how to cater to your issue and your body. Not only is Danelle warm with hands made of gold, but she makes sure you are equip with knowledge and exercises to take care of yourself until your next visit. Go see Danelle!“
“Dr. Andrea knows exactly what to do with my crooked spine. She is super strong, insanely intuitive and really works to make me stronger and on a long term, healthy track. She listens, works with you, very hands on and cares. I would recommend her and have, to anyone for any part of your structure that needs help!“
“If you are working on healing or maintaining a healthy body, this is the place! You have Gyrotonic, Gyrokinesis, Pilates, a little aerial yoga. Plus there are physical therapy acupuncture, massage therapy, and the rare dance medicine/science specialists all here under one roof!“
“If you are in pain, I enthusiastically recommend seeking out Active Health Solutions. Both Annie and Devin helped me navigate my own treatment through a low back injury. They are knowledgeable and did a fantastic job explaining treatment procedures and the anatomical causes of my pain. This allowed me to implement their recovery plan on my own. I cannot say enough good things about my experience.“
“Dr Borenstein listened attentively to my concerns. He integrated my medical history to develop a plan that made sense . I felt cared for and relieved after my appointment with Dr. Borenstein.“
“Purvi is the best PT in DC and it is not particularly close.I had suffered from a chronic back injury for the better part of three years. I had tried 4 different PTs in DC up until that point. Purvi was the only one who was able to fix my back and get me back in the gym.Purvi is smart, kind, and patient. A true master of her craft with years of experience and expertise backing every decision she makes about your recovery. After being in her care for two years I can say that she is, without a doubt, the best. If you get injured, you would be doing yourself a disservice to go anywhere else.“
“Anne is amazing! I don’t even know where to start. I was in conversation with two other Rolphing therapists before going here, and both were pushing me toward a 10 series without having met me. Anne said, “Why don’t you come in and we’ll see what you need.” She fixed me right up in one session! Pain that I’d been dealing with for years was gone, and my range of motion noticeably increased. My favorite part is when she’ll do something like massage my leg, and I feel relaxation in my shoulders… So cool! The entire body is connected and she’s constantly educating herself on various forms of therapy so you can really trust her advice. I only go to her when I irritate something, and I love learning new things about my body in each session. Whether you enter massage or movement therapy, Anne is definitely the way to go! Also, she loves a challenge and is willing to work on bodybuilders! If you need accommodations for anything, just communicate with her and trust me she’ll work with you.“
“Tony Touma at CORE is fantastic. He's done more for rehabbing my knee in a few weeks after replacement surgery than Phoenix people did in six months. That's because he spends all his time manipulating my knee and figuring out how my body mechanics are not working a year after surgery. He then gives me the proper exercises to do at home to rebuild my knee strength and flexibility where it is off kilter. Phoenix in Tenleytown just had me doing exercises for the whole 45 minutes I was there and did almost no body manipulation. It was in and out for everyone with little hands on work, especially work that would identify what was wrong. I can't say enough about Tony Touma and CORE.“

“Professional, Black, Passionate, Kind, Caring, Safe, Organized, Knowledgeable, just Awesome.
I felt like I was being taken cared of by family. And a bonus was that 2 of the DPTs were Howard University graduates. YouKnow!!“
“Chili has been my go-to PT for many years now and has helped me through multiple issues, from foot surgery rehab to breast cancer rehab to even internal organ work to help improve digestion & calm my GERD-related issues. She is an expert at dry needling, which has helped tremendously in reducing my pain & increasing mobility related to my foot injury. She works holistically to understand the root cause of one's issues. Chili is also a pleasure to visit and establishes a very personal connection with her clients. She is hands-on, which I greatly appreciate, and I would highly recommend her for any health-related issues you may be struggling with.“
“I came to Hummingbird seeking a responsive approach to my condition. I communicated with Michelle beforehand about what to expect, and booking was super easy on the website. Michelle approaches things with listening and communication, and the thorough initial consult included a first session. Wow! I had myofascial release therapy (there is a lot of information about this on her website, and she also explains it very well in person). I could feel the 'release' and found the sessions greatly helpful both in the moment and over time. Michelle's approach is quite unique in the DC landscape for recuperation or self-care. Great, progressive practice as others attested!TIP--the online booking shows appointments each week, with flexibility according to your schedule and needs.“
“Dr. Roberson is the best chiropractor I've ever seen. He's not someone who makes a few quick adjustments and then you're out the door. Instead he takes his time to understand and treat your problems. He combines chiropractic care with physical therapy, and also uses various kinds of technology. After the initial consultation, the front desk is great about scheduling follow-up appointments. He's a preferred provider with federal Blue Cross so the cost is reasonable.“
“Patty is a miracle worker. I have been struggling with plantar fasciitis for almost three years now. After 6 doctors and 4 physical therapists I came across Patty and she completely changed the game. I am finally seeing improvement after she recognized that my biggest issue is how tight I am everywhere. With her work I am finally almost pain free for the first time in years. I highly, highly recommend her and I now to go to her for any PT I need.“
“Michelle helped me recover from a chronic shoulder pain - it's not only about the treatment per se during the sessions, but also her holistic approach and advice that enables you to make shifts in your daily routine with a longterm positive impact on your health. Thank you Michelle!“
“I just completed my 20th workout at Thesis and I can confidently say that this has been one of the best personal training experiences I’ve had. I may be a bit biased because he’s my trainer but, Trevel is as legit as they come. He’s knowledgeable and knows when to challenge me when needed (which is more times that not). I actually enjoy getting a work out in and my results have been great! I’ve already accomplished a few goals and I’m well on my way to crushing the rest!Overall, Thesis is a great gym and I’m appreciative of all the trainers and staff who make the experience worthwhile.“
