“Academy Animal Hospital has been taking care of our pets for 20 years. When our schnauzer, Willie, finally (at age 14) had to be put down, Dr. Beccari felt as bad as I did. All the employees are so helpful. Danny, the vet tech, is knowledgeable and caring. We always get a follow-up call. Our Winnie loved all the people there and they helped us manage her cancer.. And now Sammy the Schnauzer enjoys his visits with Dr. Reimann. I would recommend Academy to anyone.“

“Thank you Rancho Santa Fe Vet, for the excellent care! This past week my puppy, Roo, swallowed a pin. The veterinary staff fit us in their schedule right away. After 3 days of my dog not passing the pin, the staff fit us in again on a fully booked Saturday. The nurses and vet took the time to talk to me about the pros and cons of how to proceed. It turns out that Roo had also ingested a palm tree seed that was likely preventing the pin from coming out. We were very lucky that the seed was discovered and didn't cause a serious blockage, requiring surgery. Roo is now pin and seed free.“

“I cannot say enough wonderful things about Santaluz Animal Care and Dr. Laura Johnson! They saved my dog Hei-Hei’s life, and I will forever be grateful for their compassion, skill, and generosity. Our 7 lb. Chihuahua had been wasting away, dropping to 5.5 lbs. due to a severe dental infection. His white blood cell count was elevated, he was in pain, and they also discovered early-stage renal failure. We were terrified, but Santaluz Animal Care went above and beyond. We explained that we could only afford $1,000, and they stayed within budget without cutting corners. They did full blood work, a complete dental extraction, all necessary medications, a prescription diet change, X-rays to ensure no roots were left, ear cleaning, nail trimming, and anal gland expression—all at no extra charge. We were nervous about anesthesia, but Dr. Johnson reassured us that Hei-Hei would do wonderfully and even confirmed his heart was as strong as a younger dog’s. What truly amazed us was their flexibility and kindness. On Tuesday, 02/11/25, they took him in immediately—even though they don’t typically accept same-day emergencies. They also don’t do extractions on Wednesdays, meaning we might have had to wait until Thursday, 02/13/25—a delay he may not have survived. Dr. Johnson was empathetic, kind, and accommodating. My husband had to handle everything alone, and they treated him with so much care and respect. From start to finish, the entire staff showed an incredible level of dedication and compassion. If you need a vet that truly cares and will go the extra mile for your pet, Santaluz Animal Care is the place to go. They didn’t just save our dog’s life—they gave us more precious years with him. “De olmedo was amazing diagnosing, treating and caring for my beloved dog! We were back to full health in ten days after the perfect prescription was provided. We switched from a prior vet to come here as our prior vet misdiagnosed him, wasted a month on the wrong meds and cost us loads of time and money treating! “We are so grateful to Dr Selders and Danielle for helping our 17 yo dog achieve an improved quality of life! It took a bit of time to get an appointment (they’re popular!) but it was so worth the wait! He’s been going weekly for a month to get acupuncture and tho he’s older we can definitely notice he’s more ambulatory (sometimes we comment the puppy is back) and we have stopped needing or using meds which could have adverse impacts on his organs. “I am posting another 5 star review for the amazing staff at Twin Oaks - and especially, Dr. Watanabe! My dog had what appeared to be a partial nasal obstruction and I was terrified that it was a malignant neoplasm (I work in oncology). Dr. Watanabe made time to see us and discussed all options including a nasal exam under sedation with potential biopsy and culture. She immediately called after his pre-anesthesia labs were resulted which showed an elevated neutrophil count (WBC, which indicates a potential infectious process present). We discussed further and decided to try a course of broad spectrum antibiotics before sedation. Seven days later and my soul dog is healthy as can be (pic from his follow up appointment)! Dr. Watanabe was patient, considerate and medically judicious in terms of our options and next steps! An amazing team of wonderful people - we’ll never go anywhere else! ??“

Dr. Aimee Bains is my cat’s primary vet, and she always displays so much empathy, kindness, and respect. She always listens attentively to my concerns and gives me productive answers. “After my cat was diagnosed with kidney stones, her Orange County-based vet told us to come here, and it is well worth the drive. Dr. Le Sueur is passionate about your pet's lab values, and in the case of my cat was able to interpret the data, advise treatment and meds, tweak her diet, and get her from stage 2 kidney disease to stage 1 kidney disease (which isn't something I thought was possible). The staff at Vet Med are helpful, kind, and they listen attentively. I left wishing we had this level of care for humans, and I'm grateful my cat got treatment here“
