“Dr. Rachel Plasterer is the BEST VET! She goes above and beyond. My pug has had major eye issues. Dr. Rachel went above and beyond researching alternative treatments to try to get better results. She could have just treated him in which she thought was best. The additional treatment that she offered truly helped immensely. She truly has the best interest for her patients. I am SO happy that I found her. I would recommend her to anyone! I wish I could give more than 5 stars!“

“We really liked this vet and wished we had discovered them earlier. The vet was straight-forward and wanted to avoid doing unnecessary procedures as many vets and doctors tend to do these days.“

“I am posting the following information in hopes that as many dog owners as possible will benefit.... I have no experience with the doctors or staff at Bressi Ranch Pet Hospital and assume they are outstanding. I do have experience with CALIFORNIA VETERINARY SPECIALISTS IN CARLSBAD that I hope other dog owners will find useful. The doctors and staff at that facility are knowledgeable, caring, and professional. Dr. Ogilvie is no exception. His knowledge of oncologic disorders and ability to relate it to his patients are outstanding; he is kind and caring. HOWEVER, if your dog has developed enlarged lymph nodes and is believed to have lymphoma/leukemia, take particular care with your approach to treatment. If your dog requires a biopsy, specifically ask Dr. Ogilvie (or whichever oncologist you chose) to apply their great knowledge of the anatomy and select the safest node to biopsy. Ask them to take particular care to make sure the biopsy needle remains within the mass of the node so as not to inadvertently pass through and injury an artery. If this happens, your dog, especially if small, may lose massive amounts of blood quickly and go into shock. This may not be readily apparent since the blood loss will be internal. Naturally, you and the staff will want to attempt resuscitation in the ICU, but this will not be successful. It is especially difficult to resuscitate most animals once they are in extremis. The bill will be large (many thousands of dollars) and you will desperately leave without your pet. NOTE: this sort of thing can happen in ANY veterinary office and with any procedure. As a neurosurgeon, I am sadly familiar with the pain and reality of both avoidable and unavoidable complications of operations and procedures. All doctors experience complications in their careers. Some are avoidable. Surgeons that perform many operations often repeatedly perform the same relatively simple procedures. It is human nature for these to become rote. This diminishes focus and can result in a devastating avoidable complication. One last thing: if your dog has developed enlarged lymph nodes and does not rapidly deteriorate and pass on within a few weeks, you may wish to avoid treatment entirely (you can discuss this with your veterinary oncologists). Many cases of lymphoma are indolent; on rare occasions there can even be spontaneous remission. There are also many less conventional treatment options, like high-dose vitamin C and ozone therapy that, while not proven effective, may be just as effective as and much less risky than conventional chemotherapeutic regimens. This approach obviates the need for a risky biopsy procedure altogether and may prolong your time with your pet. Best wishes! E. “I've been bringing my 2 dogs here for about 10 years. Everyone on staff has always been very kind and provided excellent customer service. They make us feel like family and provide multiple options for care rather than seeming like they are just trying to empty my wallet.“

“I cannot begin to thank the Canyon Creek Animal Hospital Staff and Dr. Hall enough for how they helped our pup and our family in a very very stressful time. After just 3 weeks of having our dog he managed to swallow a very large rock, began throwing up, and was very lethargic. We brought him in to see Dr. Hall who examined him, advised us of all our options, and helped us make a well informed decision in a very scary time. Dr. Hall prioritized the health of our dog, re-arranged her schedule, and rushed our pup into surgery so that we could have the best possible outcome. And with all of that she still gave us a detailed breakdown of cost and helped to make it as affordable as possible. If you're looking for a great vet who cares about the animals and their owners this is the place to go!“

“I just had a service on my AC by ASI my technicians name was Derek. To say he was exceptional would be underrating him. He was completely thorough. Did a great job. Had a great personality and was just an all-around good guy. We signed up for a service contract because of him and the service he gave us he is a credit to ASI, and I hope they treat him well And hold onto him. When I signed up for the service contract, I did it with the stipulation that he would be my technician. Also, Iris, the young lady I spoke to at ASI on the phone did a great job very cheerful and very thorough. My experience with ASI today has been exceptional. I would recommend them highly, especially Derek and Iris.“
