“I’ve worked with Dr Jess on several injuries related to long distance running: knees, feet, and ankles. She has always been able to help me get back to the sports I love quickly. In 2019 I had to take 10 months off of running due to injuries. Nothing I could find online was working for me and it didn’t get better with rest. I saw Dr Jess in early 2020 and she helped me identify and treat my IT band syndrome. I finished the year with over 1k miles and by 2022 achieved a long standing goal of mine to run a trail 50k in under 5 hours. What I like most about her approach is that she really teaches you how to improve form, strength, and flexibility on your own with exercises that I found easy to follow after the sessions.I will definitely see Dr Jess again if I have problems in the future.“

“I had gone to 3 other locations in the past for PT and I was so lucky to find Renew PT in Oakland. The 5 star reviews are all spot on and was so relieved to have this gem with wonderful staff in the front and PTs who are so thorough and excellent in assessing and providing effective exercises that really made a difference. The work space was very clean, not crowded and was a pleasure to go to. I liked that the exercise routines were easily accessible with video links that demonstrated the correct way to do the routines. I had Jeff and Lena for my physical therapists and both were great. I would definitely return to Renew if I needed rehab PT in the future.“

Emily Noe Physical Therapy Physical Therapy

“I couldn't be more happier picking Emily for my PT needs. I came to her after doing PT from other locations, but I didn't feel my wrist was any better for climbing. - Flexible on scheduling, I saw her five times every 3-4 weeks, with a focus on home exercises, which was exactly what I was looking for (and I graduated when we both felt it was time). Note that her exercises targeted my wrist issues more closely than the generic ones I've been given from insurance covered PT and online sources - She was very familiar with my body type, as she worked with dancers and paid close attention to my hypermobility - Even though I went to her for my wrist, we were also simultaneously able to work on my right shoulder rotator cuff (which I completely forgot about) and my left ankle. Other PTs (at least with insurance) wouldn't provide this level of attention. - Able to climb while rehabbing! She provided a very specific climbing regimen, which was fantastic for accountability - Looked over climbing videos and helped correct my form (since climbing caused my injuries in the first place) In three months, I am back to projecting again, and she has given me a solid foundation to continue my climbing and non climbing goals. I wish I had seen her first, would have saved me six months of time. Highly recommend Emily, especially if any of the above resonated with you.“

“Amy and Iris are the two PT's that I've seen at Back to Life Physical Therapy; they both are very knowledgable, and thorough in their explanations and guidance. In addition to their abundant knowledge in the specific area of pelvic floor, the extra care and time they put in to really listen, understand and then instruct me have been what distinguishes them in the field of physical therapists. I have improved since starting to work with them (a year ago). The office is kept clean and neat, and is full of natural wood, natural light, and includes a library of pertinent material. Colleena, the receptionist/office manager, is a wonderful and personable and efficient part of the team. I highly recommend this practice.“

“I was referred by UCSF Endometriosis Center to Janette for pelvic floor physical therapy following a laparoscopy. I had been in constant, chronic, and debilitating pain for over 2 years, which impacted my overall quality of life. Janette's individualized approach and expertise allowed me to feel relief the day following my first appointment. I noticed going from irritable and agitated due to the pain, to calm and present in my body. This was the first time I had felt like this in over 2 years and I became hopeful for my future. Janette validated my experience through her understanding of the latest endometriosis research. Janette provided manageable exercises where I was able to see progress between each session, which kept me motivated. I feel safe, seen, and held throughout this healing process by Janette's kind, calm, and present demeanor.“

“I was referred to Bayo Vista from a friend who had a great experience with Karen. I had Karen for my intake appointment she made me feel very comfortable with the pelvic exam. I have been working with Emily for all of my other appointments and she is WONDERFUL. She looks at your whole body and works on all parts holistically. I felt silly to point out my knee feeling stiff in one appointment as it wasn't the major problem spot. Emily looked into it and wow, did she make a difference! I felt like a new person. I had assumed that this knee would always feel that way after I had ACL reconstruction 7 years ago... but I was happily proven wrong! All appointments are 1 hour and you really get focused time with Emily or Karen. They are out of network with insurance, but I would still highly recommend them due to the quality of care you receive. Emily and Karen also have been very supportive of my bringing my baby with me. It was very comfortable to bring her and we took breaks as needed for nursing/holding. Thank you for being baby friendly, especially when a mama just needs some physical therapy love postpartum. :) Erika is also their billing and administrative ninja. She is so on top of sending out superbills for insurance the day of your appointment and booking appointments for you. I really appreciate that Bayo Vista uses text messages for booking appointments or their online system. I would highly recommended Bayo Vista!“

The combination of her impeccable knowledge of anatomy and how your body truly works with her experience and intentions to heal are truly wonderful and worth every moment and dollar spent.Often people work with a PT in emergency circumstances or recovering from an injury, but you may consider also working with her not in a time of crisis to improve your ergonomic relationship to whatever you do in your daily life and get tuned up! “Edie is the Sherlock Holmes of PTs. Don't expect a run of the mill assessment and standard exercises. Edie goes deep in her evaluation, bringing decades of experience, education, insight, and wisdom about how our bodies perform, and she then works with you on solutions that actually work for you and your lifestyle. She does all of this with grace, patience, compassion, and humor. Best of all, she LOVES what she does and it shows.I went to Edie with a laundry list of flat feet, persistent lower back pain, tendonitis in my wrists and elbows, and massive neck/shoulder lockup with chronic headaches. Edie took one look at my feet and said they're not (structurally) flat, they're just flexible and weak, but the good news is that we can probably fix them. In just 6 weeks my gait has improved and, with it, my posture. I no longer wake up aching and stiff. My headaches have cleared, thanks to Edie's bodywork (yep, her approach to healing is holistic and she doesn't just do PT). And, I never thought I'd say this, but I love the exercises she gives me. They make me feel so good during and after. Edie's studio is like the ultimate playground. She has all kinds of equipment, props, and tools that she puts to full use to find personalized solutions for you.Pro tip: Don't hold back, be honest about your habits and how you live, so that you can benefit from Edie's work. I love to hang out in bed for more hours than the average cat and I knew it was adding to my already existing back pain. I was afraid Edie would tell me my bed is now off limits, but instead, she set me up with the right support pillows and here I am, writing this review pain-free from guess where? :)“

“On the very strong recommendation of another PT who had moved out of the area, I went to see Steve Ryan for reverse total shoulder replacement post-op physical therapy. Steve is simply the best, most knowledgeable, competent, straightforward, compassionate, patient and organized physical therapist I have ever worked with. The written instructions and (excellent) videos for the prescribed PT exercises are available the day of or 1 day after your appointment. He is very organized and prompt so appointments are always on time. I am 79 years old and very active for my age. Steve guided me through a major glitch in my surgical recovery and I am now fully back to all my physical activities. I'm sure I couldn't have done this without his professional mentorship. Strongly and without hesitation thank and recommend Dr. Stephen Ryan for physical therapy.“

“Dr. Rabbetz has been part of my trusted care circle for over a year. What I appreciate most about Dr. Rabbetz is how thorough he is in diagnosing a problem and the follow up care to check in on how I'm doing. For example, when I came to him with leg pain last year, he determined it was in fact a tear in my hip and sent me to the best hip specialist in San Francisco. I needed surgery and coached me every step of the way, and was very involved in my recovery. His positivity, encouragement and care has gotten me through countless ailments (including neck and wrist) and I'm so thankful. Thank you Dr. Rabbetz for your healing powers, your wisdom, and for being YOU!“

“While on a business trip to the Oakland area, I decided to visit Synapse Massage and Body Works, and it exceeded all my expectations. In fact, I'm planning to return before heading back to New York. Thank you so much!“

“TL;DR: Tiffany Ai Lan Vo is smart, caring, and knowledgeable and her expertise essentially saved me. Lisa at reception is wonderful, helpful and reassuring and I look forward to seeing both these women every time I go in. More info in case this helps another woman: I was in a debilitating painful, dark, scary place for two months before I found PHRC and pelvic floor therapist, Tiffany. I cannot recommend her and PHRC enough. Not only did Tiffany listen to everything I had to say with compassion, respect and patience, she was able to diagnose my problem within minutes. Something my ob/gyn wasn't able to do for months and something supposed "specialist" Dr. Alexandra Haessler at Sutter Health (very dismissive doctor) wasn't able to do even though she somehow bears the qualifications of "urogynecologist". It wasn't just that I needed physical therapy, Tiffany was able to correctly diagnose something very medical that both these doctors missed! I'm putting this in the review in case some other woman out there is being told that it's neuropathic and/or that nothing is wrong by Dr. H or anyone else in spite of her symptoms and feels hopeless. It's not you! It's real. I wouldn't trust that diagnosis until you see a pelvic pain specialist like Tiffany. Unfortunately MDs in the Bay Area seem very in the dark about pelvic pain. Even after knowing what my medical diagnosis was and getting proper treatment for it (thanks to Tiffany) I'm still struggling to find a provider who is knowledgeable in it and its not for lack of trying. PHRC's entire mission and specialty is to help men and women with this type of thing and it shows and it is life changing.“

“Rob is more than a chiropractor - he's a guru of all sorts! He has helped heal all of my odd body ailments, and he's incredibly intuitive. Rob is patient, gentle, and incredibly thorough in our appointments. I push my body pretty hard, and am always grateful for his sessions. He is far more holistic than any other person I've gone to. He uses heating pads, massages around the areas that are tight, that he will adjust. He's really more of a body worker. Considering how much time he takes, he is extremely affordable! He's doing this work for the right reasons. Thanks Dr. Rob!“

“I have experienced the benefits of Oshana's literally healing arts for different reasons over at least a decade. She is an experienced physical therapist, who I originally visited following an injury, but she is also a practitioner of many approaches to body work. She really excels at devising a program suited to individual needs, is super perceptive about pain and movement, and is very practiced at prescribing methods to increase mobility and strength. So grateful for the all the help she has given me, and now look forward to attending some of her group sessions! Highly reccommend Oshana!“

“My mom on the East coast turned me on to the benefits of integrated manual therapy (IMT), and suggested I find a practitioner after I fell down on my right knee on hard concrete, resulting in a terrible ache any time I had to drive more than a half-hour. Even though I waited nearly six months to get treatment, Jared managed to reverse the damage after about six sessions and my leg feels good as new! I'm amazed and so happy! I also had some issues with small dribbles of pee coming out sometimes minutes after I had used the bathroom (hello, all you mothers out there!) and Jared fixed that as well within the first, three sessions. He also provided me with acupuncture to help with insomnia and stress. I'm so impressed with his work! IMT is a hands-on treatment that works with the natural, magnetic fields in the body, and is incredibly gentle and non-invasive. I don't generally like the experience of acupuncture, and I've had acupuncturists in the past who put in tons of needles, which was unpleasant. Jared only used 4-6, tiny needles per session, but he knew exactly where to put them to be incredibly effective. It's so nice to go to a medical practitioner who knows what they are doing and actually gets results, rather than just shrugging their shoulders while taking your money, shuffling you off to someone else, or performing treatments which don't work and/or are harsh on the body. I only paid a $20 co-pay per session too, as long as I received acupuncture. Jared has you fill out a longish intake form (which you can do online) before the first appointment, and unlike most medical people I've been to, he actually read it and took it into account in my treatment. On top of that, Jared is a nice guy, fun to talk to, and I'll miss seeing him regularly now that I'm all better. Thank you, Jared! You are wonderful!“
