“If you're looking for a top-notch martial arts school with a focus on discipline, respect, and fun, Villatoro Champion Martial Arts (VCMA) is the place to go! My boys, ages 9, 6, and 5 has been attending classes for about two years (started when they were 7, 4, and 3) and has grown in confidence, focus, and physical ability. The instructors are passionate and knowledgeable, and the classes are always engaging. I highly recommend VCMA to anyone looking for a positive and rewarding experience.“
“Master Alan is amazing with kids and young adults. I've seen the amazing growth and confidence with my son since he started here. The students always perform amazingly at tournament and always take home medals, primarily gold. Highly recommended!“
“My son has gone here for almost a year now and has advanced quickly. He has learned so much and gotten significantly better than when he started. Prior to coming to this school he attended another school for 2 years. The instructor was great, but I feel that he did not really get the hang of it until he came here. This school has way more discipline and structure and it's forced my son to focus and take it seriously. They really have everything down to a clear process and system for growth here. As a business owner myself this is something that I admire. It’s been very exciting to see my son grow in his practice. We look forward to to his continued growth on his way to a black belt!“
“I wanted to sign my son up for martial arts so he could be more active and help burn off some of his ADHD energy, however all of the local dojos seemed commercialized and impersonal. My son's friend started attending class here and his mom told me about how much she really liked it. We came one evening to check it out and immediately signed up afterwards. This dojo is clean and the other families are friendly and supportive to each other and the kids. Master Lowe is great with his students. He is the perfect blend of tough yet encouraging. He tells the kids all the time they should be striving to improve their karate skills, and improving at home and school as well. My son is learning karate skills and valuable life lessons as well. I'm so glad we found Lowe's Martial Arts Academy“
“Master Kim is kind and caring! With many years of experience, he really understands what it means to be a great teacher. I am glad to have him on our team!“
“I have been training in Krav Maga for 3 weeks now, I really enjoy the class that Sensei Carl teaches, I feel like I am always learning something.“
“This review is long overdue! Been coming here since October 2020. Friendly gym and I love the atmosphere. The coaches push you to do your best. They really hone in on form and technique. The classes are always different and you definitely will not get bored. I love how they offer different types of classes: boot camp, weight training and a boxing boot camp. I have definitely seen a difference in my strength, cardio and endurance since joining.“
“Love this studio! Great instruction, fun classes, and a friendly family-like environment. Coach Sway helps all students, whether beginner or advanced, to improve and the classes are great exercise. I love the hands on fight training and sweating out my stress. I also am doing personal coaching/training with Coach Sway and he is really helping me with my form and athleticism. He has also introduced me to weight lifting which is improving my overall practice. I can not recommend this studio enough to anyone who wants to learn how to fight.“
“Defense Arts Center is the place to go if you are interested in learning or having your child learn authentic, traditional Japanese Karate. My son has been going to DAC for a year now and it's been a great experience for him. The instructor, Sensei Ty, is very professional, kind, and caring. His karate program teaches kihon (basic moves), kata (forms) and kumite (sparring), as well as self-defense movements. While there are many karate dojos/training centers around this area, including Upland, Ontario, Ranco Cucamonga, etc., this is the only place where you can learn real Japanese karate-do, namely Shotokan karate, one of the four major styles of Karate that are Shotokan-ryu, Goju-ryu, Shito-ryu, and Wado-ryu.“
“My son really enjoys learning aikido with Sensei Morales and Sandra. They are very professional, knowledgeable and care for their students! We love the people at this dojo. It's a hidden gem in upland!“
“My children train here and absolutely love it! The techniques seem to translate well to real-world self-defense( I know this because my children love to practice on me when they get home?).“
“It was a good and clean looking dojo the master there was nice and patient if a student couldn't do a specific move. He made the class laugh and he made it fun.“
“This dojang produce quality taekwondo fighters. It's very common that first time TKD parents are not aware that A LOT of taekwondo schools hand out belts like candy bars, most of these schools dilute the standard of USA taekwondo. Master Bobby Morales of Knock Out Martial Arts has produce olympians, national team members and international athletes.“
“I am a student at rdk and the experience each time i’m there for a lesson is great. Every sensei teaches very explicit with instructions.“
“We have been taking our 2 kids (4&7) to Red Dragon Karate in La Verne for a year and a half now and have nothing but good things to say about this place: This place doesn’t only teach them techniques, it goes beyond that; since my kids started training here, we’ve noticed a significant improvement in multiple aspects: discipline, focus, self-confidence, strength, team work, school performance and others. The staff is talented, very professional, super nice and they are great with kids. They know how to win them over and encourage them and make them want to come back every time. I would highly recommend this place. I can confidently say that it has more to offer compared to other karate places.“
“Being in Krav Maga has not only taught me how to fight, but it made me become a better person and more confident. I am able to stand up for myself. I never thought I be standing up for myself. I owe it all to Sensei Johnson for helping me and guiding me to be tough and helping me reach my goals. I joined Krav Maga so that I wouldn't be afraid, weak, and timid. This is something that gets me through the day. When I walk into the dojo, I am a completely different person. I went on a 11 year hiatus from 2010 to 2021. I never thought I see myself back in this dojo. I never thought I see Sensei Johnson back. I wish I was continuing Krav, but I am back now and I am turning myself around. If you join krav, stick with it. Don't make the same mistake I made.“
“Came here as a 1st degree black belt. Training is very good with some working out, sparring, and forms. The master is a very good person and has so much enthusiasm in training everyone.“
“This is a nice place to take Zumba classes in Rancho Cucamonga the girls are very fun and dedicated, The music is great and the classes are affordable, they also have good parking and a kids play area.“
“My son has been training at C-Quence Jiu-Jitsu since 2016. I have only great things to say about my personal experience here at C-Quence. John Muñoz and his family are very professional and knowledgeable in training students from all ages. John has coached and trained champions from different arenas in the MMA world. Including World Jiu-Jitsu champions, King Of The Cage champions and currently working with UFC fighters. If you’re looking for a solid place to train and learn from the best in the Inland Empire, this is the right place. I highly recommend C-Quence Jiu-Jitsu. There’s no BS here only hard work.“
“Confidence, joy, compassion. I don't call out other reviewers but that Jeney person probably has a snowflake kid or is ill-behaved, the coaches/masters have NEVER been hit or "disciplined". Listen, I took taekwondo as a kid, back in the 90s, in the San Fernando Valley. David Park was his name. He gave us knuckle sandwiches (flicking his finger against our forehead) when we misbehaved. I wasn't afraid of him (he was just as loving and playful as anyone, but when it came to business, he was all business). No caning but honestly, the thought probably crossed his mind. The master here is NOTHING like my master was, in terms of life lessons, instilling confidence, and having fun (and by the way, my master was still all of that, just with a lil "tough love" thrown in). Ok, enough "nostalgic, back in my day" talk. This place is a beacon for the community, you can grab a treat next door at Stater Bros while your kiddo practices their forms and board-breaking, and it's got good wifi so you can amble away on your phone while they're running around the dojo mat. Highly recommended.“
“Neo is just what we were looking for. Fun, challening, and structured. My children love their Sensei. Jessie is so kind and has a great connection with his students. We live 30mins away, but the drive is well worth it. I could not imagine sending my kids to any other dojo.“
“I started here in 2004 , stayed until the year 2012. Mr.Wilson will forever be in my heart, not only does he teach great , but he cares about you like he’s your father, he checks your grades, checks up on you on how your life is going , and gives you talks when you’re not doing so great at home/life/school . He always pushed me to do better , even when I kept trying so hard to give up. He made me the strong person that I am today. Even though I’m not tough like a tiger , I will forever be the tough princess haha. This is honestly the greatest place I have ever trained at. Thank you so much for everything that you did for me when I was growing up.“
“I highly recommend Excel Taekwondo, Claremont located in the Baseline shopping center next to Vons. My son absolutely loves it! His instructor, Master Rhee is a phenomenal teacher and mentor. He teaches the kids of all ages discipline, self control, indomitable spirit, perseverance and having a positive attitude. Master Rhee makes the lessons fun yet challenging. My son looks forward to every session and wants to arrive early to get started. My son is listening better at home and seems more confident and most importantly happy.I think it's a great foundation of principles for kids of all ages. Thank you Master Rhee!“
“My grandson loves this place and we like the variety of classes offered for his age range. My only concern is that while I watched him get consistent attention from the instructors, his (female) sparring partner was ignored three times in a row. She even walked up each time after, asking for help and for them to watch her (she was doing the moves incorrectly, but no one was helping her). That really concerned me. :( She was literally asking for help and no one would help her. Finally the fourth time the instructors paid attention to her and helped her form. So just keep an eye to ensure all the kids are getting equal attention.“
“I recently took a Woman's Self-Defense Class that was to support the Susan G Komen Foundation. This class was so great and I can hardly wait to go back. Good practical tips and tools plus we got to practice them with opponents. The class was small but I strongly suggest checking it out, especially in this day and age. It was mentioned that they will start doing these quarterly which I know I will attend.“
