1842 W 11th St D, Upland“If you're seeking a genuine Shotokan Karate experience this is your dojo! Sensei Ty Aponte leads with remarkable expertise, and my family's journey here has been fantastic. My son joined a year ago, followed by my daughter six months later, and recently, I've joined in too – training three days a week under the guidance of three skilled sensei. The learning curve for some techniques can be challenging, but the instructors are incredibly patient, taking the time to explain and demonstrate practical applications, ensuring everyone stays engaged. What's fantastic is the welcoming atmosphere for all ages – from kids to middle-aged parents like myself. Beyond Shotokan Karate, the dojo offers various other martial arts styles like Aikido, Wing Chung, Kodubo, and more, broadening the learning opportunities for anyone interested. New students are even offered a free week of training, which is a great way to experience the dojo firsthand. The dojo is located in the Eleventh Street business park with plenty of parking spaces. . Highly recommend!“

“Kailukuan is a beautiful homage to indigenous Filipino culture emphasizing martial arts and healing arts. The owners are kind hearted and embody so much history passed on to them. They welcome everyone to experience and learn! There are virtual classes available for anyone to partake even around the world! There are also in-person classes at reasonable times to fit into your schedule and around work hours. Their website is easy to navigate and you can also just dial their number and speak to the owners directly! “Our son has been attending World Champion TaeKwonDo for a little over 2 months now. At first he was very hesitant but Ms. Vicka, Master Song and the team have made him feel right at home. In the short time he’s attended he’s built confidence in himself, enjoys class, and is learning to be more disciplined.“

They create a fun and safe environment for learning. Not only do the instructors teach the physical techniques of taekwondo, but they also emphasize the importance of discipline, respect, and perseverance. They are patient with students by motivating them to through different ways, and more so they make each karate class full of fun and excitement. Other than the regular karate classes, they devote resource and energy on other fun-filled activities outside of the regular class time. I have put my son in their dojo for over 3 years and it's been an amazing journey so far. I would choose this dojo again if I were to pick again, despite the long commute.“

659 E 15th St f1, Upland“We moved to the area last year. My son was in Tae Kwon Do and we are grateful we found Excel Taekwondo to ease the transition of moving for my son. Excel's program is about the whole child, how they are in the studio and outside with internalizing core values. The environment is friendly and the parents nice to meet. We are excited to be a part of Excel and have seen our son grow. During the summer there were summer camps. Also, sometimes parents night out. Thank you Master Kim!“
“I recommend taekwondo for kids with ADHD or ASD. My son is both. Because he needs individual attention team sports or activities don't work well for him. Parents and kids are mean and will bully him because he needs more time to learn. So martial arts let's him be in a group activity but compete at his own speed. He has been attending this center for a year. At first I was worried because it's a lot of yelling, and my son has a speech impediment. The yelling is not abuse. Let me be clear it's instruction, but my son, because of his ASD will sometimes misinterpret things. In our experience, it has been really great. My son has moved up belts. Yes, the exams are pretty regular and they do cost money but all sports cost money. TKD has taught my son discipline. It has taught him to control his behaviors and it is also set him up with setting goals. He went from a white belt is now a purple belt and he really wants to be a black belt. My daughters play club soccer and it's not cheap either. You pay for what you get. For our family this has been a great investment in our son to grow individually, athletically and mentally. I highly recommend TKD and US BBC. Thanks Master Ham!“

His instructor, Master Rhee is a phenomenal teacher and mentor. He teaches the kids of all ages discipline, self control, indomitable spirit, perseverance and having a positive attitude. Master Rhee makes the lessons fun yet challenging. My son looks forward to every session and wants to arrive early to get started. My son is listening better at home and seems more confident and most importantly happy.I think it's a great foundation of principles for kids of all ages. Thank you Master Rhee!“

14610 Pipeline Ave, Chino“Being in Krav Maga has not only taught me how to fight, but it made me become a better person and more confident. I am able to stand up for myself. I never thought I be standing up for myself. I owe it all to Sensei Johnson for helping me and guiding me to be tough and helping me reach my goals. I joined Krav Maga so that I wouldn't be afraid, weak, and timid. This is something that gets me through the day. When I walk into the dojo, I am a completely different person. I went on a 11 year hiatus from 2010 to 2021. I never thought I see myself back in this dojo. I never thought I see Sensei Johnson back. I wish I was continuing Krav, but I am back now and I am turning myself around. If you join krav, stick with it. Don't make the same mistake I made.“
“Truly a great place to learn and improve. My 2 sons have been going to GKKC for the past few years. In this time, they have improved on their balance, mind, and focus. Master George cares about his students a lot. If you have ever watched Karate kid, this place is Miyagi Do. Simple, nothing fancy, but good teachings. Give this place a try.“

6939 Schaefer Ave J, Chino“Confidence, joy, compassion. I don't call out other reviewers but that Jeney person probably has a snowflake kid or is ill-behaved, the coaches/masters have NEVER been hit or "disciplined". Listen, I took taekwondo as a kid, back in the 90s, in the San Fernando Valley. David Park was his name. He gave us knuckle sandwiches (flicking his finger against our forehead) when we misbehaved. I wasn't afraid of him (he was just as loving and playful as anyone, but when it came to business, he was all business). No caning but honestly, the thought probably crossed his mind. The master here is NOTHING like my master was, in terms of life lessons, instilling confidence, and having fun (and by the way, my master was still all of that, just with a lil "tough love" thrown in). Ok, enough "nostalgic, back in my day" talk. This place is a beacon for the community, you can grab a treat next door at Stater Bros while your kiddo practices their forms and board-breaking, and it's got good wifi so you can amble away on your phone while they're running around the dojo mat. Highly recommended.“
“Came here as a 1st degree black belt. Training is very good with some working out, sparring, and forms. The master is a very good person and has so much enthusiasm in training everyone.“

“So far my kids especially my older daughter is loving it. Very motivational for behavior and school. Helps my kids focus and run off their after school energy.“
