Renew Physical Therapy Physical Therapy

“I had gone to 3 other locations in the past for PT and I was so lucky to find Renew PT in Oakland. The 5 star reviews are all spot on and was so relieved to have this gem with wonderful staff in the front and PTs who are so thorough and excellent in assessing and providing effective exercises that really made a difference. The work space was very clean, not crowded and was a pleasure to go to. I liked that the exercise routines were easily accessible with video links that demonstrated the correct way to do the routines. I had Jeff and Lena for my physical therapists and both were great. I would definitely return to Renew if I needed rehab PT in the future.“

Emily Noe Physical Therapy Physical Therapy

“I couldn't be more happier picking Emily for my PT needs. I came to her after doing PT from other locations, but I didn't feel my wrist was any better for climbing. - Flexible on scheduling, I saw her five times every 3-4 weeks, with a focus on home exercises, which was exactly what I was looking for (and I graduated when we both felt it was time). Note that her exercises targeted my wrist issues more closely than the generic ones I've been given from insurance covered PT and online sources - She was very familiar with my body type, as she worked with dancers and paid close attention to my hypermobility - Even though I went to her for my wrist, we were also simultaneously able to work on my right shoulder rotator cuff (which I completely forgot about) and my left ankle. Other PTs (at least with insurance) wouldn't provide this level of attention. - Able to climb while rehabbing! She provided a very specific climbing regimen, which was fantastic for accountability - Looked over climbing videos and helped correct my form (since climbing caused my injuries in the first place) In three months, I am back to projecting again, and she has given me a solid foundation to continue my climbing and non climbing goals. I wish I had seen her first, would have saved me six months of time. Highly recommend Emily, especially if any of the above resonated with you.“

Back to Life Physical Therapy, Inc. Physical Therapy

“Amy and Iris are the two PT's that I've seen at Back to Life Physical Therapy; they both are very knowledgable, and thorough in their explanations and guidance. In addition to their abundant knowledge in the specific area of pelvic floor, the extra care and time they put in to really listen, understand and then instruct me have been what distinguishes them in the field of physical therapists. I have improved since starting to work with them (a year ago). The office is kept clean and neat, and is full of natural wood, natural light, and includes a library of pertinent material. Colleena, the receptionist/office manager, is a wonderful and personable and efficient part of the team. I highly recommend this practice.“

Bayo Vista Physical Therapy Physical Therapy

“I was referred to Bayo Vista from a friend who had a great experience with Karen. I had Karen for my intake appointment she made me feel very comfortable with the pelvic exam. I have been working with Emily for all of my other appointments and she is WONDERFUL. She looks at your whole body and works on all parts holistically. I felt silly to point out my knee feeling stiff in one appointment as it wasn't the major problem spot. Emily looked into it and wow, did she make a difference! I felt like a new person. I had assumed that this knee would always feel that way after I had ACL reconstruction 7 years ago... but I was happily proven wrong! All appointments are 1 hour and you really get focused time with Emily or Karen. They are out of network with insurance, but I would still highly recommend them due to the quality of care you receive. Emily and Karen also have been very supportive of my bringing my baby with me. It was very comfortable to bring her and we took breaks as needed for nursing/holding. Thank you for being baby friendly, especially when a mama just needs some physical therapy love postpartum. :) Erika is also their billing and administrative ninja. She is so on top of sending out superbills for insurance the day of your appointment and booking appointments for you. I really appreciate that Bayo Vista uses text messages for booking appointments or their online system. I would highly recommended Bayo Vista!“

“I've been coming to Maggie for months now and have had a noticeable improvement in my hip openness and back discomfort. She's an excellent listener and teacher - helps identify and focus on specific areas for treatment during the sessions and teaches stretches/exercises you can do at home. Clean studio and relaxing atmosphere.“

Anjoe Physical Therapy & Wellness Physical Therapy

“On the very strong recommendation of another PT who had moved out of the area, I went to see Steve Ryan for reverse total shoulder replacement post-op physical therapy. Steve is simply the best, most knowledgeable, competent, straightforward, compassionate, patient and organized physical therapist I have ever worked with. The written instructions and (excellent) videos for the prescribed PT exercises are available the day of or 1 day after your appointment. He is very organized and prompt so appointments are always on time. I am 79 years old and very active for my age. Steve guided me through a major glitch in my surgical recovery and I am now fully back to all my physical activities. I'm sure I couldn't have done this without his professional mentorship. Strongly and without hesitation thank and recommend Dr. Stephen Ryan for physical therapy.“

“Edie is the Sherlock Holmes of PTs. Don't expect a run of the mill assessment and standard exercises. Edie goes deep in her evaluation, bringing decades of experience, education, insight, and wisdom about how our bodies perform, and she then works with you on solutions that actually work for you and your lifestyle. She does all of this with grace, patience, compassion, and humor. Best of all, she LOVES what she does and it shows.I went to Edie with a laundry list of flat feet, persistent lower back pain, tendonitis in my wrists and elbows, and massive neck/shoulder lockup with chronic headaches. Edie took one look at my feet and said they're not (structurally) flat, they're just flexible and weak, but the good news is that we can probably fix them. In just 6 weeks my gait has improved and, with it, my posture. I no longer wake up aching and stiff. My headaches have cleared, thanks to Edie's bodywork (yep, her approach to healing is holistic and she doesn't just do PT). And, I never thought I'd say this, but I love the exercises she gives me. They make me feel so good during and after. Edie's studio is like the ultimate playground. She has all kinds of equipment, props, and tools that she puts to full use to find personalized solutions for you.Pro tip: Don't hold back, be honest about your habits and how you live, so that you can benefit from Edie's work. I love to hang out in bed for more hours than the average cat and I knew it was adding to my already existing back pain. I was afraid Edie would tell me my bed is now off limits, but instead, she set me up with the right support pillows and here I am, writing this review pain-free from guess where? :)“

Synapse Massage & Bodywork Physical Therapy

“While on a business trip to the Oakland area, I decided to visit Synapse Massage and Body Works, and it exceeded all my expectations. The facility was immaculate, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. I opted for the 90-minute massage and was thoroughly pleased with the experience. I felt an immediate improvement, and the next morning I woke up feeling rejuvenated. I highly recommend this place to both locals and visitors; you won't be disappointed. In fact, I'm planning to return before heading back to New York. Thank you so much!“

Bodywork with Diane Gibbs Physical Therapy

“THIS BODYWORK PROVIDER HAS A CAT. Booked on short notice due to another office being unavailable. Unfortunately the website does not notify you until after booking that this provider has a cat that sometimes visits the studio. As someone with a severe cat allergy this was a non-starter. I felt like this note needed to go somewhere as there are no refunds without a phone call + 24+ hrs before booking for first time clients. The post booking process also informs you that you cannot arrive more than 5 minutes early as no one may be available to buzz you in. A bummer as this provider seems to be otherwise highly rated.“

Reboot Float & Cryo Spa Physical Therapy

“I recently had the pleasure of visiting Reboot Float and Spa in Oakland, and I can't speak highly enough about my experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and friendly welcome that immediately set the tone for a relaxing visit.

The facility is immaculate and beautifully designed, creating an atmosphere of tranquility and peace. The staff are incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of my visit was perfect.

I opted for the float therapy, and it was truly transformative. The float tanks are state-of-the-art, and the experience left me feeling rejuvenated and stress-free. The sensation of weightlessness combined with the serene environment provided the ultimate escape from the daily grind.

Additionally, I indulged in one of their massages, which was one of the best I've ever had. The therapist was skilled and attentive, tailoring the session to my specific needs and preferences. I left feeling completely relaxed and revitalized.

Overall, Reboot Float and Spa exceeded all my expectations. It's a hidden gem in Oakland, offering a sanctuary for anyone looking to unwind and recharge. I highly recommend this spa to anyone seeking a high-quality, rejuvenating experience. I'll definitely be returning soon!“

“I stayed at BAHC from October 17 to November 12, 2024, after falling and fracturing my hip. I was very, very happy with the staff and the care at BAHC. The CNAs and nurses were VERY kind and helpful, and I enjoyed our conversations. The food was generally quite good, although occasionally the kitchen seem to forgot about some of my food restrictions, most importantly that I don't tolerate gluten. The physical therapy and occupational therapy was great ... Judy, JD, Alex, Theresa and Mercedes all great. Fernando, the Activities Director, was great. I enjoyed spending time in the courtyard and the activities room, and sometimes having guests visit me there. On Halloween the staff dressed up in costumes and the patients voted for best costumes ... definitely a fun time. There was a snafu towards the very end of my stay ... the request for a wheelchair for home was denied, and this was stressful for me. But Edith of the Social Services Department worked hard to get the situation straightened out so that I did go home with a wheelchair. Special thanks to nurses Nikki and Oscar, CNAs Carol, Armin, Bethlehem (Betty), Nadine, Ronald and many others also. Dietician Heidi was helpful, and so was physician Dr. Martin Jimenez. Overall I felt very well cared for, and I'm grateful.“
