“I normally don't review places I've done business with but in this case I just had to. Why? Because of my experience with D'Ambra as compared to my neighbor's down the street who went with a cheaper contractor and ended up with total chaos. My project took about 7 months to complete because it was very involved. Whenever I had an issue or question, Chris was available with a simple phone call. Always around even on weekends if needed. That was refreshing. The quality of work was amazing, but what stood out was when I came home one day, he was there making the carpenter (who hired these two new guys) take down the crown molding they just spent the entire day putting up because he - yes - HE - didn't like. When have you heard of that? I honestly wouldn't have even noticed probably, but hey, he's the expert. Something about since it was floating to accommodate the rope light behind it, it was done wrong.Now my project was quoted at $378k. Painting and flooring was not included. All in I was into the project about $410k. It was a large job. So my neighbor had them quote their house once they saw ours coming together and was floored at the quote. (They bought their house in the mid '70s for about $100k - hard to imagine spending double or more than that on just a remodel) So they went with someone who apparently quoted them about $50k less - supposedly for the 'same' thing. Honestly, it made me question what I was spending. But then about a month into theirs, they ran into me on a Sunday and opened up about their mess. EVERYTHING was an extra. Everything. 2 months in, they were already committed to over D'Ambra's bid proposal. The biggest problem they had was I think it was the same 3 guys were doing ALL the work. Plumbing, electrical, drywall and on and on. The quality is horrible. I can see it because I compare to my job. Of course I don't tell them that, but they know. It's really sad. The inspector told me he sees that stuff all day long everyday all around town and gave me the nod for hiring D'Ambra.I'm so glad I made this decision because I don't know what I'd do had we been stuck in that mess. “I recently contracted the services of Envy Electric to solve why my stairway light suddenly didn't work. Peter was very methodical in his analysis and, after trying several things with his arsenal of testers, discovered that I wasn't pulling the full voltage at the switch boxes. Experience told him that a loose connection was the culprit - only question was where it was located. He then proceeded to trace the circuit and opened up all the switches and plugs, but found nothing. Determined to solve the mystery, he tried the only possibility left - a recently installed canned hallway light the was pretty well plastered into the entry ceiling! Patiently, he chipped and cut around the fixture until he was able to extract the housing with no real damage to the ceiling. There he found that whoever installed the fixture didn't even have the connections contained in a protective box and, lo and behold, there it was - the loose connection! Peter was able to install a box within the ceiling and reinstall the fixture without any damage to the ceiling - what a guy! Needless to say, all this time and effort was adding up, but well worth it. But, when it came time to settle for all this work, Peter wouldn't accept anything extra. I was certainly impressed by his work ethic and appreciate the fact that there are still craftsman like him around. Envy Electric has my full endorsement as a winner. Peter is one of the good guys!! - I'd hire him anytime and every time!“

“I own a property in Huntington Beach. During the heavy rains in 2023 my property had a leak. KLC Construction went to the property right away to determine where the leak was coming from. Due to the way the property was constructed a unit on the 2nd floor had a balcony that had standing water due to a gutter issue. KLC Construction was able to let me know the problem and literally fixed it immediately with no charge because he said it was the right thing to do and was a quick fix. Honestly I could have easily been fleeced because the issue needed to be addressed immediately to prevent interior property damage. It has been a few months and problem was solved. Honest work & true expertise is hard to find but this family owned company are the gold standard.“

They worked on two total bathroom remodels (on both raised and concrete foundations), including a complete renovation of a spare room. Sam and his team were always on time, kept things tidy throughout the renovation, professional and knowledgeable on all aspects of the construction process. We had to turn off all of the running water to our house. David R. showed up at the promised time (in the rain!) and provided us with a temporary water line so we could comfortably live life (with indoor plumbing!!) while the final repairs had to be delayed because of the weather. “Kevin and his crew did a very good job on our kitchen remodel. They removed a load bearing wall, completely replaced the old kitchen cabinets , and installed vinyl plank flooring throughout. Communication from Kevin was good and the trades were respectful and offered honest suggestions. Kevin has a lot to offer in design ideas. It may sound silly but the pullout trash bin was a great suggestion and I really enjoy that feature. We started with an old small kitchen and it's been changed into something very nice.“

“We had a fantastic experience with Shorebreak Construction. That is not my usual experience with contractors. I had expected the usual delays and excuses that I had gotten from every other contractor I have ever used in multiple renovations. Chris and his team showed up when he said they would.They had the right tools and materials. They worked so efficiently that the job was done much quicker that I had expected. Chris is such a great manager that things just ran smoothly. I could not be happier and everything looks great. Here is what they did: installation of crown molding in family room, entry and living room, renovation of guest bathroom which included tile, resurfacing walls, replacing plumbing, installation of cabinetry and sink, painting, new door, upgrade all electrical for safety reasons. A little background first.I have some exposure to the solar industry from my day job in a related electrical firm. There are basically two types of companies you'll run into: sales companies that sell your contract or use subcontractors to install, and locally family-owned business like Inner City that have their own crews and stand behind their work. Only use the latter. Never lease, always purchase. There is great financing out there, so either pay in cash or use the solar finance firms. You can't lose either way.I took three bids. All we locally owned companies with their own installation and service people. Inner City was competitive, all the prices were in the same ballpark. Difference with Inner City was: first the sales engineer that worked with me, ********. No hard sell or smoke and mirrors. He sent an itemized quote so I knew exactly what I was buying, easy to understand. Next, Inner City only offered quality equipment, no Chinese commodity panels or components. I think this is extremely important as these systems should last twenty years or more. I chose ********** recommendation, *** That's the same company that makes the TVs and appliances, someone that will stand behind their warranty. In fact all components come with a 20 year warranty.After I placed the order I was introduced to the installers that ran the project at my home. All the guys were awesome. During the project I asked for a few changes, no problem. They made the changes, no push back. ********, the engineer, called me & came out several times to ensure I was happy with the project.My system went active today and my meter is running backwards!
