“Kathleena is a gem! I hired her for hair and makeup on my wedding day and was so happy to find someone who was so intuitive, skilled, and committed to using non-toxic products. I felt exactly how I wanted to feel on my special day -- confident, beautiful, and just a slightly "elevated" version of myself. Kathleena has a gifted eye for highlighting natural beauty; I never felt like my hair or makeup was hiding the real me.While preparing for my wedding, I had a few cuts and one deep conditioning with Kathleena. For my fellow introverts, you'll be happy know that Kathleena is largely silent while cutting/styling hair, as she gets into a "zone" and is fully focused on her work. While she's a delight to talk to geneally, I am grateful for a quieter hair-cutting experience -- as a highly sensitive person, I've often felt overstimulated by past salon experiencesm which tended to include lots of music and talking (sadly often in the form of gossiping or complaining). “I saw Ellie yesterday after lunch at Comelones Tacos. Her prices are 75 dollars for a haircut. She was prompt and was serving two people when I saw her. My appointment was at 12 noon and that is when I sat in her chair. The salon itself is very small with one chair for waiting clients. There were three stations and all three ladies including Ellie looked like true professionals. I didn't see any chatting or joking but complete attention to their clients except for Ellie who checked her cellphone several times and also talked on her cellphone while cutting my hair. Since I paid 90 (after a 15 dollar tip) for a 22 minute service, I felt a little cheated. Ellie washed my hair for five minutes from 12:00 to 12:05. At 12:22, I was outside getting into my car which meant that my haircut was 17 minutes. 90 dollars for a 17 minute haircut just doesn't feel right. My haircut was very basic, a few layers in the back and I didn't really see much layers framing my face which she promised. I would have liked a little more detailed framing. I will see how my hair grows out but I am unsure I will come back. Also, Ellie doesn't take credit cards so I had to pay her cash which she appreciated.“

“Jenny did makeup for my grandma, mom, mother in law, sister in law, and myself for my wedding and I have zero complaints. Everyone's makeup looked absolutely amazing. I've never felt more beautiful and it looked amazing in photos. When we did my trial I asked for a more glowy look since I had never done one before and it ended up not being for me. I gave her all my notes from the trial about what I liked and didn't like and on the wedding day she took those notes absolutely nailed it. Super important to have a trial so you can give her your feedback and also so she can see the condition of your skin and make any recommendations for skin care so your skin is in the best condition it can be come wedding day.Services: Bridal services“

“Pheakdey is amazing. I've followed her from a previous salon in Oakland (where I live) to her studio at Sola in El Cerrito. Although she used to be located 2 blocks from me, the distance won't stop me from using her for all of my hair care needs! It's hard to find a hair stylist that you trust. She dyes my roots every 7 weeks and cuts my hair every 14 weeks. She knows exactly what I like and I always leave extremely satisfied. She's also done eyelash extensions for me that last for a long time, and the experience was very peaceful and relaxing compared to other places. Not only is she highly skilled, but she's a pleasure to talk to and I always look forward to spending time with her. She is the sweetest and has such a good heart. I highly recommend Pheakdey for hair care and eyelash extensions!“

“Im not the best at remembering to take care of my skin, but after visiting Maddie, getting a relaxing and moisturizing facial, and getting some skin care tips from her i feel rejuvenated. She was super welcoming and nice. Has very nice decor at her studio. Clean and relaxing. Was professional and handled with appropriate care when giving me a facial and lower back wax. I ended up having extra time and got a nose wax too. Ive heard nose waxes were sometimes painful but when Maddie did it i was surprised how well it worked and how un-painful it was. Well below my pain expectation. I was very pleased and will defiantly come back. She told me about all the services she provides from brows to lashes to just about any waxing service u want. 10/10 would recommend.“
