“First of all, read the negative reviews below and take with a grain of salt. Alot of people these days like to come on Google and make it their own personal "dear diary" entry. See your therapist, folks. Also, have the decency to call the business or stop in. Most business owners want the opportunity to make things right.Second, these reviews made me hesitant to hire Apple Valley. When Scott came to quote the project, he immediately started to give feedback about "how about this?" or "did you consider this option?" He didn't just cut me a number and run off. He took the ten minutes to listen to the scope of work and help guide the project. That was reassuring! He was looking for ways to make the project better from the outset.Scott's bid came in the lowest. Every other bidder wanted to pour more concrete to drive up the cost of the project. Bigger grade beams, thicker garage slab, etc. Scott was the only one who came in and said, "how about 8x8 grade beam and 4" thick slab?"When i asked the other guys if they could quote smaller grade beam or thinner slab, they all said "nope, that's what we pour and we don't change it." Scott's answer was "whatever you decide on is what we will do." That's good service!! He helped come to a decision and WE BOTH pushed forward as a team.Communication was excellent! Scott gave me his cell on his business card. I texted him at all times of the day and got responses within a few minutes usually. Here again, use common sense. If a business owner gives you his cell, don't harrass him on it! He has a wife and kids and a life outside your project. Be curteous, be patient and you will get a response.Timing was great! I was the general contractor on my own garage project. I set the start date and AV crew was there 7am sharp. Day one was prep, day two pour, day three saw cuts. Each day the crew showed up early, worked 9-10 hour days. I must say a big crew too! about 6 guys on site to pour a garage pad, apron, and sidewalk. Probably 60+ years experience on site.Quality of work was excellent! The foreman (sorry never did get his name) called me out several times over the first two days to get my input and feedback. I got to make decisions about placement, drainage, etc. BE PREPARED TO BE HANDS ON. And enjoy the experience. There's not many contractors left who ask the customer for input.the biggest part of my garage project was the concrete. It came out well and now I can finally get excited about the final building phase.Thanks AVC for taking care of this project and my family's needs.“
