“Maruquiel took me as a last minute client when another local salon had to cancel. This was my first experience with “Maru” and Salon de Joi. Maru was so compassionate and stayed late to help me out on a Friday afternoon. She was sweet, professional, nurturing, gentle, and fun! I love my affordable hair cut and more importantly the experience! I will definitely recommend Maru and Salon de Joi to others!Other important notes:So many salons smell of perfume, plugins, and product. These things give me migraines. I was so pleased this salon didn’t smell like any of this. I was totally comfortable the whole time!“

“I loved the advice given by Krysta. I had a horrible experience with a salon in San Antonio. They completely destroyed my hair to the point it was chemically broke off.I wanted to chop it and Krysta looked through and told me to be patient. She wanted me to be happy with the experience. We worked out a plan and I am satisfied with that. I will definitely recommend and go back, because she listened to my concerns, and developed a plan, when other salons might have just chopped it off and called it a day.“
“This shop was the cleanest shop I’ve been too since being in VA. Idk what the back room looks like….but anywho the barbers/stylist greeted me at the door very pleasant. I have a autistic 10yr old who I am teaching to be more independent his barber Nikki D caught on and said “I got him” she was patient and did a great job with his cut and lineup!!!! I didn’t even mention his status she just took the lead and as a single mom I really appreciate that! Already have my second appointment booked.“
