They take excellent care of my Bella! She is an 11 year old dog & she always leaves Barker Animal Hospital very happy. They give her great attention throughout the day & she loves to be spoiled here. I love the care she receives & that is why I trust them with my baby. ?

This place was incredible! I don’t understand all the reviews saying they were pressured into buying plans and medication cause that was the exact opposite from my experience.I have used Banfield in the past and that was a nightmare . Never any staff or doctors available could never get my dog in for weeks . This time my dog had really bad hives and of course no where in the southern Virginia area had any available appointments for weeks not even urgent care . I called here and they were able to take my dog same day. The 2 receptionists were so nice and professional. Barker Animal Hospital staff is exceptional! When we took our cat Sophia there a few years ago, Dr. Barker was able to calm her down in 2 minutes! Sophia fought us for a good hour prior to the appointment. Dr. Barker was the one who helped us when our pit mix Maggie had to go to sleep due to cancer. Today, we brought our newly adopted pit mix for check up. Dr. Shields was very thorough and helpful. The vet assistants were very patient, friendly, and caring. I highly recommend this place for your pets. The staff really shows compassion and kindness to pets and their humans.
