4700 Gilbert Rd, Austin“Best vet in town. They go above and beyond. I'll never forget when my bullmastiffs had babies (5 survived) and I took them in for first shots, worming, etc. They literally closed down for two hours just to accommodate my babies and to make sure there were no sick dogs around when I brought them in. These were 20 pound 6 week old puppies so still a log of dog. They spent time with every single one of them and thoroughly examined everyone of them (a lot of play time too, LOL). They have taken care of all my animals now for at least 15 years. Thank you Lauren!!!! And everyone else!“
“I’ve taken all of my pets here for their check ups and everyone has been so kind and knowledgeable. They spend time to explain what they are doing and I have never had to wait long for any of my appointments. I’m so happy to have found such a great vet that is also close to where I live.“

710 W 5th St, Austin“Everyone here is super sweet and nice, and made my boyfriend, our kitty, and me feel very welcome. They explained what they were doing and why, and everything was quick, easy and professional! Our cat was spoiled on the exam table with treats and had a great time. They didn't, however, tell us anything about cost while we were there. I paid the $75 deposit for the exam, and when we showed up they gave our cat a vaccination and gave us a cup for a poop sample to bring back and sent us on our way, no mention of cost. So I just assumed that the $75 was for everything. The next day I got an invoice for $120, and was very alarmed. My boyfriend and I are not the most well off, so I called and asked if I could have a receipt because I didn't know what any of it was for. The nice lady that answered told me that $40 was for the vaccine and $80 was for the poop cup. I said I had no idea and wouldn't have taken the poop cup if I known. Luckily she got it taken care of quick and taken off the bill, but I still found it very strange that I wasn't told any of that during the exam, or told that I had an option.I'll be returning but I'll definitely double check everything next time!“

8033 Mesa Dr, Austin“I love this clinic. I've been taking my two kitties to ATX, and I'm really happy with how Dr. Rob has handled their care. It's hard seeing an old pet in declining health, but I'm so glad I found Dr. Rob to guide us. Also, his staff couldn't be better. Such sweethearts!“
“Took my 12 yr old dog here today. The entire staff was kind and seem happy to work there. Everyone is pleasant and the doctor made the impression she has time. Didn't seem like a rushed place where they are pressured to meet a patient quota. People there like animals (and the owners) Couldn't ask for anything more- very nice doctor who provided much information. It's a bit out there on 290 West but well worth the drive- these are the kind of places I want to support! Thank you!“
“Had a great first experience. My pup was able to be seen even with a tight time slot before close. I also left there with great peace of mind. Dr. Mike did a great job to help me understand the situation and I'm really appreciative of Firehouse.“

8863 Anderson Mill Rd #105, Austin“Before the big 2024 freeze I decided to rescue a feral cat (George) who had been living in my backyard for almost a year, and made an appointment to get him tested and vaccinated so he could start to integrate with my other house cats. First of all, Best Vet had very good scheduling availability so I was able to get him in on short notice. This was also the first time I had handled a feral cat (he is truly feral and not just a nice stray), and I was EXTREMELY ANXIOUS about him getting freaked out and causing a ruckus, but the staff handled him so well--with both care and skill--and kept him under control the whole time. Dr. Bob was so kind and informative about his findings and what to expect next. I got the test results in minutes and they gave him all his shots while he was in the carrier. I was so incredibly grateful that the whole appointment went smoothly and I will only take George here from now on.“
“The Dr there has gone out of his way to help our pack, and he brings incredible knowledge and expertise to the table.“
