2101 Gold Hill Rd, Fort Mill“It is the Thomas Family Cemetery and includes the body of two Confederate soldiers (brothers) who where in the 53rd NC INF REG. Also there is the wife and child of one of the brothers. From the corner of the street you can see that there is ( falling apart ) wooden enter way and fence (collapsing) around the head stones . There is heavy plant growth that makes the cemetery invisible to cars and people who may go by. You could say that is on purpose to hide the Confederate head stones....but I don't think so. I would suspect that this little triangle piece of land is in private hands...as the head stones are in good shape and this is no over growth inside the fence. The history of the soldiers can be traced and is interesting. These tow may have even fought at Gettysburg. This every so small cemetery is a slice of American History. Where two brother are that gave all they were and all they were going to be“

“My mother's funeral was the first one I ever had to do on my own. Bass-Cauthen helped me so much. They took care of so many things for me. Didn't push me to make a decision. Told me to take my time. No regrets for letting them handling the funeral. Each person was so kind and caring.“
