“It took me about six months to finally commit to this roofing project. Russel Roofing was excellent throughout the entire process, from estimation to handling the permit, being flexible with the project's start date, executing the project, and after-sales.

The job initially involved replacing a steep third-floor roof but was expanded to include installing copper valleys and pointing two chimneys.

The four-day job crew consisted of three roofers and an on-site supervisor. The crew was very informative and accommodating to the change requests, and were on site for 10-12 hours each day. I viewed one of the roofers fabricating the Copper Valley, which demonstrated the necessary skills.

One side of the house was inaccessible to ladders, which was a concern. The crew demonstrated superb skill in scaling the inaccessible side of the roof by walking over the roof’s peak while carrying 50-pound bags of shingles. They did their best to avoid getting waste material and old shingles into the neighbors’ yard. The roofers also went above and beyond cleaning and re-pitching the gutters.

Overall, I am thrilled with how this job turned out. Although it is undoubtedly the most expensive home repair I have undertaken, the pricing was competitive.

An essential part of the roof installation is the warranty for the shingles. The estimator explained the warranty process in detail. After researching, I realized it was necessary to get reputable roofers to back this warranty in the rare chance it was needed.

“Although I was a little skeptical in the beginning, I have to honestly say as a 35 year contractor in the electrical business Northstar roofing and siding is absolutely accompany worth doing business with.I was a little skeptical at first because their business model is one of a general contractor employing crews that work under their direction.We are extremely pleased with the end results of a fairly complex project. Our project included an entire rip off of our main roof as well as two outline structures. We also replaced all of the gutters all of the skylights and areas of the roof that were visible to the street we upgraded to New steel roofing.Overall, I estimate I spent a bit north of $70,000 with NorthstarSome months later, we had our master bathroom renovated by a different contractor and this contractor chose to vent the bathroom fan by making a hole in our newly installed roof. When we had the 4 inches of rain a few weeks ago I woke to a drip and huge puddle in my brand new new $40,000 bathroom renovation.I really didn’t know where the water was coming in. I called Jeff, the owner of Northstar roofing and regardless that he did not make the penetration nor was the leak his responsibility. He mobilized an entire team, including himself that were at my house on a Saturday at 7:30 in the morning in a rain and wind.Rather than point fingers they took ownership even when they didn’t really have to! the whole crew, including the owner was up on my roof in absolutely terrible conditions fixing the leak caused by the bathroom contractors shoddy work.“

Previous to tornado Ida, he repaired the flashing around my chimney that was allowing water to damage a wall inside the house. He also installed leaf protectors on my drain pipes. After tornado Ida, he answered my call immediately and worked to protect any further damage from occurring and then repaired the roof.
