Jeff sourced reclaimed slate tiles for us that matched what we have perfectly. They replaced about 50 tiles, put in new copper flashing and installed new copper gutters that they custom-made by hand. His kind of craftsmanship, attention to detail and experience with historic materials is very hard to find. We've used Jeff several times and is our go-to roofer now. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone with an historic home that needs a high-quality, roofing expert.“

When we had the 4 inches of rain a few weeks ago I woke to a drip and huge puddle in my brand new new $40,000 bathroom renovation.I really didn’t know where the water was coming in. I called Jeff, the owner of Northstar roofing and regardless that he did not make the penetration nor was the leak his responsibility. He mobilized an entire team, including himself that were at my house on a Saturday at 7:30 in the morning in a rain and wind.Rather than point fingers they took ownership even when they didn’t really have to! the whole crew, including the owner was up on my roof in absolutely terrible conditions fixing the leak caused by the bathroom contractors shoddy work.“

“Umbrella Roofing is the poster business for customer service. Ed provided a thorough and comprehensive review of the issues with our roof including some root causes of the issues. He provided pictures and took the time to give explanations and education of basic roof installation. Although his estimate for the repairs was more than another estimate, the repairs were more comprehensive to resolve the immediate issues and position us to have the roof last. Umbrella Roofing also set us up to have the regular maintenance done to ensure the roof lasts and meets the performance expectations. Our roof was supposed to be a brand new roof so we did not except to have leaks or have a major repair less than 2 years after having the new roof was installed. Umbrella's entire team is great! “I have called Joe Cochrane to my home several times over the last 3 years since I bought this house. He has always responded in a timely manner to my phone calls and repair needs. Previous to tornado Ida, he repaired the flashing around my chimney that was allowing water to damage a wall inside the house. He also installed leaf protectors on my drain pipes. After tornado Ida, he answered my call immediately and worked to protect any further damage from occurring and then repaired the roof.
