“I like to visit different gyms when I travel. This place was everything you want in a gym. Great guys to roll with from all skill levels, friendly culture, not formal. I would happily call this my home gym if I lived in the area. Plus, they have striking classes as well.“
“We have had an amazing experience so far with Kinder Karate. The three-session trial experience they offer has been a great way to gauge our son’s interest in the program and he’s been hooked since day one. Being able to watch him the first class, we were able to see how well-structured the lessons are and how the kids are engaged from the moment they step foot in the classroom. We are excited to see his confidence grow and appreciate that the instructors are not only teaching karate, but lessons that will help our son in life as well. We will definitely be coming back!“
“I’ve been training there for a year and my only regret is I didn’t start earlier the instructors are fantastic. The people are amazing helpful knowledgeable and kind. I feel right at home. Can’t imagine going anywhere else!!“
“House of Martial Arts is top notch! Sensei Gino works hard to give every student the best experience possible. He is knowledgeable in his field and is able to adjust his teaching to his audience. All of the students always look happy coming and leaving the dojo. Can’t say enough good things!!!!“
“This is an awesome gym community with a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Classes are different every time, offer a challenging workout, and can be modified for anyone's unique needs or restraints. All of the trainers/instructors are helpful and down to earth. I highly recommend giving this place a try!“
“This is a great school, run by a great staff. My son has been going here almost 4 years and I recently started the adult classes this past December. Master Wilson is a fun and engaging teacher and it's fantastic with the kids classes. I highly recommend stopping to try the introductory program.“
“My friend and I started Tai Chi classes 4 months ago. Master Bao and his team are experts at instruction, adapting their teaching styles to their students.“
“I started my judo training with Master Eugene Kim and he truly is the best. His sons are great too and I’ve learned much from them. Though I’ve moved out of Pittsburgh now due to work, I truly miss training here.Edit: 4.5 years later, I returned to America and glad I found a job in Pittsburgh so I can train here again!“
“Great school and Master Dressel is a great teacher for kids and adults. Has both Tang Soo Do and Braizilian Jiu Jitsu. It is a great combination to learn for overall self-defense and martial arts in general.“
“Great school with many long time practitioners. I recently started with my teenage son, everyone there has been welcoming and helpful.Prices are very reasonable and the quality of training is awesome.“
“I go to this wonderful school and it is so amazing and i recommend it a lot! It's for children over five and adults. It has kickboxing too! It's great if you want your children to learn self defense. It's also amazing to get your child in line and to learn manners! I heavily recommend this place for you or your child!“
“Great place! Wonderful instructor, very personable, highly experienced. My son loves it.“
“Great team of trainers focused on helping kids and adults be their best selves ... Pretty fantastic“
“Excellent martial arts school! When I was younger, I studied a few different martial arts in High School and College, but I hadn't practiced in over 10 years. I started my son in the pre-school classes at Ryer's and I couldn't resist signing up myself after I saw the school/classes and met the instructors. The classes are different from any class that I've taken in the past. The variety of styles and techniques make every class interesting, fun and challenging. There is a 4 week rotation consisting of striking techniques, eskrima/knife, grappling and Brazilian jiu jitsu. I love the fact that at every level, we learn advanced techniques that we won't be "formally" required to master until we reach higher belt levels. The curriculum is the Counterpoint Tactical System which is a very practical martial arts system. Every class is fun, the instructors are great and the class is a great workout.Highly recommended for all ages/levels!“
“The main instructors have combined Aikido experience of over 70 years. They also organize regular seminars, where legendary Aikido instructors teach several classes a day over a weekend, and if you have never been thrown by a 7th dan Sensei, you don't know what you're missing (actually, if these words make sense to you, you probably do).Complete beginners are welcome--you only need to bring comfortable clothes to exercise in. To enter, you go past the sliding gate facing the street, continue forward, and then take a left. The studio door is going to be in front of you. If you see woodworking equipment, you are at the right place; this studio shares a courtyard with Jones Furniture Design.“
“I’ve been doing martial arts for more than 40 years, and research and write about them from my home in Japan. You won’t find a better place to learn.“
“True Authentic Taekwondo. There is no place I would rather train with than this group and its head instructors. They always push us to be our best. No matter the challenge anything is possible with the right team and teacher and Young Brothers is the best place to learn Taekwondo. You will not only learn to defend yourself, but you become a better person and truly feel welcomed as part of the Young Brothers Taekwondo family.“
“Terrific instructors, great environment and well-run classes. Classes are well organized. I highly recommend Lathen Martial Arts.“
“Come on down and check them out. Very professional, knowledgeable and all around a great atmosphere. Great help with building self esteem“
“Since March the business has been offering classes via Zoom, and in-person via sign-ups. I enjoyed the classes with my kids and their instructors so much I joined! Supportive environment where everyone can grow individually, or as a team!“
“I practiced at Aikido of Pittsburgh for 25 years, until the COVID19 epidemic moved my family out of town. I will always be indebted to Shihan Masutani and her excellent instructors for their dedication to the future of Aikido.“
“Black Hawk Martial Arts is a great place to train, work on your fitness, develop excellent relationships and just have fun while sweating it out. The instructors (Master Ron and Ray) have a great understanding of each student's personal needs and abilities and are willing to work within those limitations. They teach traditional martial arts, but show us how to use it, if needed, in a modern day application. For youths, I have watched them gain confidence in themselves while learning discipline, focus, and respect. For the adults, including myself, we have learned more focus, strength, and confidence.Black Hawk Martial Arts is a great place for individuals or families to learn and have fun at the same time.“
“The instructors here are truly the best... they care about each child and teach them discipline while still having fun.“
“My son (now 7) has been training at Gaddis Brothers Martial Arts Academy for the past six months and is loving it! He’s tried several other sports/activities but nothing has held his interest like the MA program at Gaddis. Sensei (and all the instructors) do a great job balancing fun with practical skills and discipline. Definitely recommend you check them out today!“
“My kiddos love taking Master Nam karate classes! He is very kind and understanding. I couldn't ask for a better teacher for my kids.“
