“Great place to learn and be a part of a team with people that want to lift you up and see you succeed. My time there has been enlightening to say the least.“
“Love, love this karate school!! The instructors are fabulous . They are super patient and kind. My daughter has attended this school for almost 2 years and she absolutely loves it. My daughter is very shy but I love that they always try to get her to come out of her shell. The instructors are amazing with all students , especially the children with special needs. Roland and Cassie are fantastic getting these sometimes challenging students to where they need to be in class. Always professional!! I can’t say enough about these wonderful people. Please come and check them out ?“
“Thank you Kirby and Steve for making me feel so welcome. I called ahead because I was visiting and from the jump the school was incredibly welcoming. The instructors that I learned from were incredibly knowledgeable and were invested in the students understanding the techniques. I wish I lived closer because I would be here all day every day. Until next time! Thank you for letting me continue learning.“
“Visiting from out of town. Dropped in. Very welcoming. Great rolls. Highly recommend“
“Amazing place with inspiring people. You’ll always be motivated to work harder and be better. The instructors are humble, good men with a lot of knowledge from real-world experience (and plenty of fun stories). This gym is perfect for anyone serious about self-improvement. It’s a great community that will support you on your personal journey. Lots of laughs to be had along the way!“
“Our family started taking taekwondo with another studio as it was offered through an after school program. The contract and costs were very expensive and something we were reluctant to agree to. There was pressure from the studio staff along with incentive dates to commit and sign a contract. We signed up and locked into expensive pricing. After only a few weeks of attending, I began researching alternatives to the class as it felt like an overpriced dance party. It didn't feel like a martial arts class. It felt like a way to run kids out of energy. We wanted the class to teach our kids skills in a more traditional setting. I found the pentjak karate club online and through word of mouth discovered they offered free trial classes. We took advantage of the karate clubs free classes and gave our child the opportunity to choose for themselves between the two. The choice was easy for them and a relief to me as the overstimulating environment at taekwondo was a lot to take in. The pentjak studio in Stillwater is nothing like the cookie cutter taekwondo and karate classes offered throughout the capital region. The club is excellent and it feels like a family run business with an owner who cares. Jim loves his students, treats everyone like family and it shows. The Instructors, once students themselves, grew to love the program and pushed themselves to become more. They've created a kind, compassionate and very real group of respected teachers. Most instuctors have other family members also in the program which is really awesome to see and it's contagious! Together this group under Jim's direction have crafted a school that fits all ages and types of children. We went from having one child enrolled to now all four. They're different ages with different personaliites who have different needs. The team at pentjak studio give their best to make sure each child is getting the most out of each class. They don't guilt you when you can't make it to a class because life happens, there are no contracts, there isn't a sales pitch or a ton of expensive gear to buy and the pricing is extremely fair, reasonable and affordable. I'm happy we found the studio so we could offer this learning experience to all of our children. The school has that sort of hometown feeling which compliments the appeal of the surrounding areas. If you're looking for a class that makes you feel like family and also teaches you endurance, discipline and confidence this will be a good fit for you. The free classes are an amazing way to try it out and see if your child or even yourself likes the program. Don't be surprised if you find yourself wanting to take the adult classes after watching how much fun it is for the kids. I think all the parents would agree you won't be disappointed.“
“My son has been training here for just over three years now. He has had such a positive experience that I also joined in the fun! Master Miller and Master Gray are amazing instructors who are patient, kind, and very knowledgeable. The family-like environment is very welcoming and comfortable to dive right into. Look no further if you want to be a part of an amazing school where you will have many opportunities to learn and grow!“
“My son loves the classes always excited to go and Master Allen and Master Dudla are amazing with the kids.Master Allen and Master Dudla are focus on the kids and helps teach them to focus and to have a “I can do it mind set”. I’m specially happy that they will slow down for kids who need it and help them and don’t just over look it. Thank you Master Allen, Master Dudla“
