“I have been wearing glasses since I’m 3 years old, now 36. I have poor eyesight, -10.5 in each eye, a recipe for very, thick, awful looking lens. I had been referred to The Optical Shop recently, and spent quite a bit of time looking at frames with the dynamic mother daughter duo, placing an order for a pair of frames atypical from my usual style. “I started going to Dr. Lazar at Greenwich Eye Care in Old Greenwich several years ago. Then she opened her Darien location, Pro Eye Care. Currently, I go to both locations. I can choose either location depending on my schedule. My review is for both locations. I have had poor vision most of my life and dry eyes for the last decade or so. Outside of one eye doctor I saw in another State (Dr. Fitzgerald at Advanced Vision Care) I have had really bad experiences with eye and vision care. Most places offer long wait times, care that seems rushed, very traditional only methods of treatment that land at you missing out on key ways to improve your eye health (like taking vegan Omega 3 EPA and DHA to help with dry eyes) and doctors who are not on top of all of the new options out there for their patients. Dr. Lazar is none of those things. She is always on time and never rushes. She always offers new ideas on treatments like Omega 3 that has made a massive difference in my eye and skin health. Dr. Lazar is beyond skilled in eye care and is also very lovely. Without question she is my partner in my eye and vision care. Recently I bought lenses at the Darien location and worked with Suzy Ademoski. She too was just lovely. I walked out with lenses that were much thinner that my old ones and even block out much more of the sun while still being clear glass. I can actually drive with them in the Summer and not need sunglasses. Susy also offered me every discount that she could to make the purchase easier on my wallet. I highly recommend both locations for trusted eye care.“

everyone in the office is very kind and extremely patient. Scheduling the appointments was very easy, The doctor made sure to explain to my son the importance of actually wearing his glasses. Optician took her time to make sure my very picky 6 year old was content with the glasses he chose.
My oldest went to pick up his glasses, Peter was also very patient when explaining to the kids how to properly handle the glasses as well as making sure my son was comfortable on how they fit.

We had to work some magic to get my mother eyes examined and checked. They both pitched in and made it happen. Their bedside manner was outstanding!! “I'm not too good with keeping up with regular doctor appts. but I needed an eye doc for my license renewal and went with doctor Galente. I actually really liked him, he took the time to explain his process, and answered my questions. I had lasik done in the past (with issues) and he was able to point out some of the causes of some issues I had been experiencing and was able to see the remnants of what I thought was corrected from my lasik, he cleared up a lot of my concerns within 20 minutes! I appreciate that he wasn't heavily reliant on crazy machines and took the time to personally examine my eyes.“
