“My husband and I discovered water damage to the wood floor under our laminate in the condo we had just bought - it had clearly been there for a while, and the floor was so warped the laminate was bursting out. It was right in the middle of our living room and our apartment was already a wreck from getting ready for a new baby, so we were distraught, especially when most of the companies we reached out to quoted astronomical figures and/or said they would only do the project if they could redo the whole room. We needed the apartment to be safe for a new baby, but also couldn't afford to redo our whole apartment. Ishmael and Great American Hardwood Floor literally saved us - they gave us a reasonable quote just off of photos, explaining that it could be more if the subfloor was involved but reassuring us that it didn't seem that way from what they could see. Once we agreed, they showed up the next day and had it all fixed within a few hours, even replacing the laminate we had saved and cleaning the whole area after. “I reached out to Manny with a tough damage on my quartz kitchen countertop (bleach had spread across it and left multiple discolored spots). Even though this type of quartz damage is not something he usually treats, Manny went above and beyond — he researched, ordered the right product, and carefully repaired it. The result is amazing: the bleach spots are now almost invisible, and you’d really have to look hard to notice the old marks. He and his staff are very receptive to emails and phone calls. His prices are in line with the other firms, and significantly lower than general contractors. Shortly after going through all of the details, Andy sent me a contract. All of the work and expectations were clearly described. There were zero questions about what would be done, what would not be done, and how long the job would take. There were also zero questions about what would be expected of me (e.g. moving furniture, thermostat settings). His workers showed up on time, on the days they were scheduled. They were very friendly and professional. They thoroughly covered windows, cabinets, stairs, and everything else with dropcloths and tape.
