“We found Built on Trust through an online site and are so glad we did. We asked Javier to come out, look at our projects, and give us an estimate. He came out within a day, said he could do it, and began taking measurements and pictures. Within a few days, we had a contract, and he began working.

We chose him over top, leading sunroom and four season room builders, because we liked what we saw, his knowledge and his price was way under some others. No fluff.

“The crew leader was professional and kept us updated on the project's progress. Unfortunately, the attention to detail was lacking, resulting in a return trip to correct a railing that was not level, shoddy painting, and gaps in the balusters. We requested black hardware, but they returned with silver and informed us that we could 'spray paint it'. The railing itself is rough and not smooth. Additionally, the project's cost increased due to an unexpected add-on that was not included in the original quote. Finally, while the cleanup inside was great, the outside was left a mess.

Edit (11/10/25): After our review, Ana from JF Stairs reached out to discuss further (note that we had previously discussed this prior to the review being posted and had requested that they return to correct the railing and some of the painting). They did offer to come back and replace the hardware, and reimbursed us for the painting costs, which we appreciated. While the hassle of three visits was frustrating, they made every effort to correct what they could and ensure we were satisfied with the final product. The owner came out personally on the final trip to ensure we were happy and emphasized that there is a 1 year warranty on the work.“

“We bought a house that had been built in the 1980’s that was in desperate need of renovation.
Distinctive Remodeling (DR) was recommended by a firm that had done a major remodel for me but was not available to help on this project. After that recommendation and the other glowing reviews, we decided to team up with DR. In 2-3 months DR did a detailed design with 3d rendering which was very accurate of what the final product turned out to be. They listened to our input and the design was very much a collaborate effort. We didn’t change the outside footprint of the house but took the inside down to the studs. We were very pleased with the entire design team, from the designer to the project manager. Everyone was easy to work with. The house turned out wonderful, easy to live in, and high quality.. They have always been up front with cost, planning, and design. Not once have they gone over our budget. The design team has always listened to our needs and have applied them to our new look home.
