“I had my first session on Tuesday 2/17. I did the "Hot 26" and even though I am a complete novice at yoga, my fears were quickly put to rest. The class was challenging but not impossible. The pace was appropriate and Hilary the yogi was awesome. 10/10“

“Okra yoga is my favorite yoga studio in the Noda area of Charlotte so far and one of my favorites in the wider Charlotte metro. I am very grateful for the variety of classes they offer, especially the number of slower and unheated classes. Most of the classes emphasize the mental and spiritual benefits of yoga, not just the physical, which is one of the most important aspects of yoga, imo.I left off a single star simply because classes that are named exactly the same can be very different depending on the instructor teaching them. I would prefer if I could rely on having a *relatively* consistent experience in terms of speed and intensity. For example, if I show up to a deep stretch class, I find it a bit frustrating if that class is actually being taught as a restorative class instead. Or if I show up to a class that describes itself as a slow or relaxed pace, but half of the class is taught at the same speed as a typical vinyasa class, this is also frustrating. I sign up for classes based on what my body needs that day, and it's frustrating when the experience differs so dramatically from the description. I would've signed up for something else instead.“

Always asks first if anyone has any “body issues” going on before the class and is simply wonderful and the best all the way around. Love her classes.“
“It's hard to know where to begin when describing the sacred and healing space of Sybil's studio. Her warmth and compassionate guidance came into my life during a very physically and emotionally turbulent time where I had lost hope that I'd ever experience pain relief. Sybil has extensive knowledge of how to heal the body and mind through small movement in order to decrease pain levels and increase mobility and stability. Through weekly personalized movement regimens, her students are able to develop and build upon their practice by learning new exercises tailored toward their specific needs and concerns. Most importantly, it works! Each exercise is doable and sustainable as long as you're willing to commit to the cause. After one month, I've already noticed improvements in my physical wellness. As someone who has exhausted practically every treatment method out there with minimal results, this is revolutionary. Rather than the weak and helpless state I was in during our first session, I feel stronger and empowered. At each meeting's conclusion I feel like a new person: one who is anchored, still, and can once again breathe deeply. She is nonjudgmental, supportive, and motivational in her teachings while offering a private and calm, unintimidating space, free of the traffic of larger group studios. I am so grateful to have her as a private instructor and recommend her to anyone seeking an individualized yoga path, whether new to the practice or seasoned. You won't regret it.“

621 Lochaven Road, Waxhaw“This is a wonderful authentic Martial Arts school. From the moment I took the trial lesson I knew I was in the right place. It was exactly what I was looking for. A school with a passionate teacher (Sifu David) that passes on his valuable knowledge in a compassionate, individualized manner, adjusted to each student's level, strengths and weaknesses. A great leader that inspires you to strive to reach your goals and gets the best out of you. The students are welcoming and very helpful. They share their knowledge as well and support you in your path. It's a wonderful community. The perfect place to learn Tai Chi and Kung Fu from a body, mind and spirit perspective. Highly recommended!“

10822 Providence Rd #800, Charlotte“I have been doing Pilates for 7 years and it has transformed my mindset for body strength. Each and every class is different and engages the core in different ways. Every instructor I have taken classes from brings solid expertise and body awareness to teach us PROPER movement to give us the best strength through movement plus protecting us from moving incorrectly preventing injuries. I highly recommend Michelle who actually teaches the Masters Classes - she is patient, knows the technical aspect, and as a student of Pilates I want to move through each series with precision so I get the mind-body connection needed for strength, growth and physical fitness. There is not one instructor I would not take a class from here at South Providence or Strawberry Hill- these instructors are some of the best in the business!!“
“⭐⭐⭐☆☆
Love the club, not the cost.
I've been working out at various gyms, aquatic centers, and the YMCA for years. While they all have great equipment for solo workouts, I needed something more to push past my plateau. Life Time's early morning (5:45 am) weight-lifting classes, led by Vickie and Stacey, and Lakshmi's Ashtanga yoga sessions have been fantastic for this. Their curated playlists are a nice touch too. ???
However, after being laid off, I tried to switch to a single adult membership since my family primarily uses another gym. I was disappointed to find that the Waverly location is now "signature only," meaning the cost for just myself would be nearly the same as my OG two-adult membership at $260/month. This is frustrating as I haven't used a single signature feature in my five years at LT.
I realize there is maintenance and upkeep costs, but there should be a tiered approach to the pricing. I don't need any tennis, pickleball or basketball courts; no personal trainers; or the pool for that matter. I just want to lift, shred, sweat and stretch early in the morning.
While the Waverly Life Time club is a great place to work out, without an employer discount, it costs nearly 10× more than a standard big-box gym with similar equipment. The sauna and steam room are nice but comparable to those at the YMCA or MAC. I will say the child care program is by far the best of any gym I've been to. But once the kids hit 10-12 yo they complain about boredom unless they had basketball or free gym on the gymnastics equipment.
Overall, I enjoy Life Time, but the exuberant monthly expense is pushing me towards a more economical option.
Love the gym, hate the cost.“
“I came to Kashmir Hands for a prenatal massage and it was nothing less than amazing. The vibe was peaceful and she ensured I was comfortable the whole time. I appreciated her asking questions to ensure I was not in pain throughout the duration of the massage. I'll definitely be going back after I give birth. She also was very personable and gave me tips to utilize throughout the rest of my pregnancy and during my labor.“
